Still Traveling: Hana and Haleakala
Having experienced it at last, I have to agree: the Road to Hana is worth every minute! We took the easy way, i.e., letting a tour bus driver take us around. I hate tour buses, but when the drive istreacherous, I can manage to sit in one. Here are a few photos of our adventure.
We went into a cave we found on a beach. This was a brave act – both of us hate enclosed, dark spaces.
At the end of the cave, we found this, and took our picture (quickly, before the water flooded the cave):

For Want of a Pair of Goggles
We went for a swim the other day. More of a jump through the waves, really, since the beach we chose had monsters perfect for boogie boarding. That’s what most people were doing, with various degrees of success. We didn’t rent boards, rather we just waded out and tried to more-or-less body-surf.

More Fun
Today is more relaxing than yesterday. We visited a Hindu shrine (Cynthia is a devotee). We had a picnic lunch of fruit, cheese, bread, and chocolate . Now we’re waiting for a river cruise to the fern grotto. Resting in a park with a cool breeze.

Pictures From the Last Trip
Good Times…
Tomorrow, we run away to Kauai. Then we hop over to Maui. Yes, you can expect pictures, but not necessarily of sunny days. Looks like we have a lot of cloud cover in store. But it will be warm cloud cover!
For now, I’m making slight progress on The Dryad of Durry Woods. I’m writing a scene that’s making me cry and I needed a break. I keep asking myself if this story is going to have a happy ending. Because, y’know… I don’t know. Weird, huh?
Oh, and I decided I’d try Scrivener. Durry Woods (the...

Other Writers: Nicole Spiridakis
I’m excited about this post because I get to introduce a fabulous person to you. Nicole Spiridakis is the daughter of very dear friends. That alone is good enough to introduce her to you, but it turns out that Nicole has a few special tricks of her own.
Nicole shares my love of fresh, local food, but in her hands, food does truly amazing things. She is fearless and smart and more creative than I could ever be. And best of all – she’s writing a cookbook, to be published in 2014, by Chronicle Bo...
