Solo Travel and “The Way”
The four solo travelers in “The Way”.

Without giving too much away, the story is of a father honoring his son by walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, one of the most famous Christian pilgrimage routes in Europe, located in northern Spain. He meets three other solo travelers along...

Cooking in Canandaigua
Fresh strawberries at the Canandaigua Farmers Market.
Early on a Saturday morning in June (very early for this non-morning person!) I found myself surrounded by the sights and sounds of a busy farmer’s market. Organized by a group of local farmers, the Canandaigua Farmers Market runs from June to October in a parking lot in downtown Canandaigua, in New York’s Finger Lakes Region.
But I wasn’t just there to browse: I was on a mission. I had been handed $20 and instructed to check out the local p...

I’m going to tell you why I loved it so much but first I’d like to share two concepts I learned there that ring very true to me. Of course, many concepts, ideas and bits of knowledge were gained, but these had particular meaning for me and my travels.
