St. Louis Botanical Gardens and The Trip!
I just got back from a trip out to IL visiting family, and thought I would share some of the highlights with you, foremost being the St. Louis Botanical Gardens.
Originally we had intended to go to the old Train Station in St. Louis, which years back was a really cool place filled with shops. As a kid, I used to love it. We drove down there, but only to find that it’s been shut down for 5 months for renovations, and may not be anything the same once it’s all finished. It was saddening, but th...

The Gift Of A Book

Sitting here as the world goes by
As you go by
Nobody notices
No one sees me
Just a book in my hands.
But I notice
I see you
I see the world for what it is and what it could be
Because of this book in my hands.
I’ve traveled the world
Solved the toughest mysteries
And dived to the deepest of seas,
I’vejourneyed through the stars
Battled warlords and orcs
And flown to the highest mountain peak.
There’s nowhere I haven’t been, and no place I cannotgo
because of this book...

Are These Milder Words Okay For MG Books or Christian Fantasy Books? #FishingForAnswers #books
Sometimes an author has questions, and the best personto answer themisYOU. I am eagerto hear your thoughts through the polland comments below!
The Question:Do you think the milder “darn” and “heck” words are okay for MG books? How about for Christian fantasy?
This question came up after I read author friend Claire M Banschbach’s post, discussing curse words in literature. It made me wonderif lesser words, like darn and heck, are controversial? I’ve seen them in books and TV shows for kids, a...

My July Happenings, 2016 #monthlywrapup #booknerd #authorblog
Is it just me, or did July fly by really fast? Not to mention the year in general—it’s already August! Where did it all go? I blinked and it was over. But July went well. I got some things finished writing-wise, and the Silmarillion Awards were fun to participate in! I’m on a trip to visit some relatives and friends right now, so I’ll have to make this post shorter than usual.
WRITING Writing Progress: “V. Chronicles” the dastardly behemoth WIPDraft #4 is finished, and I’m 30 pages through...
