Library Of Dreams #poem #booknerd
Shelves sit dusty, cobwebs drip down the ceiling
The scent of old paper fills the air.
She wanders between the bookcases
Trailing a finger along rows of leather spines.
One glows a shade of gold, and she halts before it, curious
Pinching the spine and pulling the book free.
Its yellowed pages slide open, and a bright light bursts forth.
A hot sun, rolling ocean waves and lush beach materialize before her eyes.
Gold coins from a shipwreck glitter in the sea foam rolling along the sand.

8 Lessons Learned From Fantasy
What lessons have I learned from fantasy stories? To some, fantasy is just fantasy, but to those of us who know better, fantasy is a way of showing real life lessons through an entertaining setting and in an easy-to-understand way. You escape your world, and yet at the same time you learn how to deal with it when you return to reality. Here are the lessons I’ve found in some of my favorite fantasy tales:

Revising A Manuscript Is Like Cleaning A Castle: 8 Steps
Your manuscript’s rough draft is like entering an ancient castle, one that has been forgotten by time—caked in heavy dust and cobwebs, growing mold in damp corners. You step inside and can barely breathe, every step you take stirs up clouds from the floor. You think to yourself: This is terrible! What can I do? How can such a thing be cleaned and made ready for visitors?
Let’s explore the 8 Steps to do just that! Step 1: Get out the weapon of mass dust destruction! And by that I mean the vacu...January 28, 2017
I Write YA & MG, blog tag Q&A!
I was tagged by blogging/writer friend Lauren Gunter for this Q&A! (thank you!)
1. Who are your favorite authors, and do they influence your writing?
Okay, so the obvious ones are Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, who inspired me to read and write in the fantasy genre. Tolkien opened up a world of possibilities for my imagination, and sparked my love of elves,

3 Quotes Challenge
―Dr. Seuss
Too often I focus on the sad at the end, the goodbyes and farewells, the end of a fun trip or adventure, instead of being glad that it happened at all, and focus on the positive “glass is half full” side, So, this quote is a good reminder to do just that!

“A New Year Is Coming” #poem
“A New Year Is coming”
The clock ticks forward
Second by second by second
The new year fast approaching,
The long handle has one tick left
One last second
And within that second time stands still.
Thoughts race through your head…
What will this new year bring?
Will I reach my long-time goal?
Will the days brighten?
Will work improve?
Will I finally publish that book?
Will a new adventure await?
Whatever your thoughts and hopes
A brand new year is being born
And with it the possibility
To drea...
