Tuesday Teaser - Grand Master's Mate by Aurora Springer #scifi #romance #excerpt

Pumping water from a spout in its base, the great shell maneuvered out of the narrow inlet towards the open ocean. They sailed past a harbor with catamarans moored on the docks. Round huts with conical roofs clustered behind the docks. The tall sail of Calluma unfurled and caught the wind. Their strange ship gathered speed, rocking up and down with the waves. The shell boat hummed a song, “Splish, splash, waves crash round Callama.”
The wind picked up and the Callama sped over the waves. Atha...

Read Only Wednesday - Freedom's Embrace (A'yen's Legacy 4) by Rachel Leigh Smith #futuristic #romance
Read Only Wednesday features a book I've just read, am about to read, or is on my ever increasing TBR pile/wishlist. This week it's Freedom's Embrace, book four of Rachel Leigh Smith's futuristic romance series (and currently the last). I've already read the previous three, though I've yet to review the second and third books, but the series overall has a 5* rating from me.
Blurb:
If Taran loses his girl--and his second chance at love--he'll never find his way to freedom.

Tuesday Teaser - A Small Degree of Hope by Lyndi Alexander #scifi #romance
Hawthorn’s watering hole was a favorite of law enforcement. The tables and barstools were placed so no one had his back to the single door. Robby J, the jovial owner, knew he’d have free security around the sixty-hour clock. In this neighborhood, it was indispensable.Kylie parked her vehicle, then crossed the busy street with long strides. Nefarious characters leaning against the wall next to the heavy plaz door stared. She ignored them.Inside, she got the same treatment, that fascination. Sh...

By Grabthar's Hammer - A Sad Farewell to Alan Rickman
One of the downsides of getting older is watching inspirational figures from your life grow old and pass away, often before their time. Yesterday it was Alan Rickman.
I think the first thing I ever saw him in was Truly, Madly, Deeply. Not the kind of thing I'd normally have watched at that age, but it broke my heart (and is probably partly responsible for so many of my romances being so tortured and barely snapped back from the edge of tragedy only to fulfill the requirement of a HEA/HFN). It'...

Read Only Wednesday - Girl from Above: Trust by Pippa Dacosta #scifi
Read Only Wednesday is when I feature a book I'm reading, about to read, or that I'm putting on my TBR pile or wishlist. This week it's book four of Girl from Above: Trust by Pippa DaCosta. While I've had serious issues with the 'hero' - the first two books only garnered 4* ratings despite the excellent writing because I cannot stand the jerk - but the third book won a full 5* rating from me. You can check out the reviews HERE.

Tuesday Teaser - Veronica Scott #scifi #romance #sfrb

The story: Meg Antille works long hours on the charter cruise ship Far Horizon so she can send credits home to her family. Working hard to earn a promotion to a better post (and better pay), Meg has no time for romance.
Former Special Forces soldier Red Thomsill only took the berth on the Far Horizon in hopes of getting to know Meg better, but so far she’s kept him at a polite distance. A scheduled stopover on the idyllic beach of a nature preserve planet may be his last chance to impres...

Please tell us a bit about yourself: I’m 28, a runner, a pretty huge geek both for scifi/fantasy and for history and economics. I have an adorable puppy named Tank and the best husband in the world.
