Character Power Balance - Guest Post by Misa Buckley #amwriting

I've been thinking about this article for some time, never quite committing to writing it, but as Pippa has been generous enough to give me blog space I decided to bite the bullet.
There have been rumblings of late in the romance genre of late and I've been disturbed by what I've read. The novels in question haven't been sci fi romance, but occasionally I have seen the problem surface here. What problem? That of character power balance.
Now I love a redemptive hero. Seriously, the bad-guy-turne...

Tuesday Teaser - Sikkiyn by Chris S Hayes #scifi #romance

Excerpt from Sikkiyn, Chapter One.
“Was it possible that Johan Larsen was a telepath? Could he be deliberately leaving himself unshielded in order to catch her off guard? It seemed impossible, and yet it was the most likely explanation for his obvious conviction that she was not a danger to him. From a distance she could sense emotion, and that would have to do for now. Access to his thoughts required skin-to-skin contact. The temptation to touch him and know had been strong, but it was too mu...

Meet the #Author Monday - AR DeClerck #scifi #romance

Please tell us a bit about yourself: Hello, all! My name is AR DeClerck. I’m an adventure romance author. I write books set in scifi, fantasy and steampunk worlds, and my characters ALWAYS get themselves into some kind of trouble. In my day-to-day life I’m a mother, wife and dialysis technician. I have two dogs and a lazy cat to sit near my feet when I write my books.
Tell us about Bound to You:What inspired you to write this particular story?: I saw a music video by a favorite band, and I sta...

#SFRBShowcase - Double Cover Love! #scifi #romance #spaceopera

Hello, and welcome to the first SFRB Showcase of 2016. Woot! Today I'm revealing two SFR covers - yes, TWO! - one of which I've been sitting on for a couple of months. You know how hard that is, right? Fortunately I've only had the second for a couple of days, but even that was a struggle to keep secret. And I'd also appreciate any feedback on the blurbs, which I'll be posting with the covers.
So, first up is the cover for Reunion at Kasha-Asor, a side story in my time travel romance series -...

Episode 1, Freedom Bound: Prologue (Currently FREE on Amazon)
As she slid, the momentum increased. She felt another rush of calm enter her system. Adrenaline. She, like every good fighter pilot, used the rush of oxygen to her brain to clear her thoughts and initiate her instincts. She counted the levels and threw herself to towards the maintenance handle as she reached what she judged to be the right deck. The deck that held her shiny wings. As she projected herself forward, her foot scramble...

Meet the #Author Monday - Judy Griffith Gill #scifi

Please tell us a bit about yourself:Hi, I’m Judy Griffith Gill, born and raised on Canada’s wilderness, Pacific coast. I lived there until I graduated high school, then moved to Vancouver. Subsequently, suffering (I think), my fith or tenth broken heart, I joined the Canadian Army to take nurses training. All too soon, an unexpected boy named Bob—definitely not battery operated—healed my heart and we ended up married. We still are and have just celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary. We rais...

New (Re-)Release and a #Kobo Sale #scifi #paranormal #romance
So yesterday, after much internal deliberation, I decided to re-release my one missing Breathless/Lycaon title--Zombie Girl: Dead Awakened--nine months after its original release and subsequent removal just ten days later when my publisher closed.
Why so long? Well, originally I wrote it in answer to a call from Lycaon Press for YA short stories. I'd intended it as a one off but after a suggestion for follow-on titles, I decided to do a trilogy at least. I planned to write the second during th...

Read Only Wednesday - The Amazing Grace Complete Saga by Misa Buckley #superhero #urbanfantasy
Read Only Wednesday is when I highlight a book I've just read, am reading, about to read or added to my towering TBR pile. This week it's a five book series - X-men style superhero Amazing Grace. I read the first way back when, and after checking my Kindle discovered I'd bought books 3 and 4, but not the remainder. I've bought these all as single titles, but there's also a single collection priced at $3.99 (saving you $0.96).
