Six Sentence Sunday #35
Hello and welcome to #sixsunday! Yes, I know, I said last week that I wasn't going to post but I was persuaded. :) The edits are going well so I thought I could take some time out to play. So welcome, thanks for all the wonderful comments last week and hope you're still enjoying the story.
Having fought to defend his sister Callon and taken a major beating for it, someone has come to the aid of our rather bruised and battered hero. But that's not the end of it for Gethyon ...
"Callon," he mumbled. Her arms wound around his waist, holding him close. A thumping rose around him and he groaned, but the sound came from outside: running feet. A group ran past him, over the rim of the dune, to gather around something huddled on the ground, a dark shape that didn't move. Gethyon watched, his mind fogged with confusion as one knelt to examine the shape. "He's dead!"

Six Sentence Sunday #34
Hi all, and welcome to another #sixsunday. First a huge, huge thank you for all the wonderful comments last week, I really appreciate them! Mwah! Secondly, I won't be doing SSS next week - I've just been assigned my editor and got the first edits to do, and while I could post my own, I wouldn't have time to return reads and comments which I think is unfair. So, the last for a little while with Gethyon. Having fought with his childhood nemesis after the youth attacked Gethyon's sister, Gethyon is now somewhat the worse for wear ...
Jagged pain ripped through his side every time that he breathed, and he clutched a hand to his ribs. Are they broken?
"Geth?"
Hell, had Dephon finally let Callon go? Renewed rage jerked Gethyon to his feet. The world swung and slanted away from him, but someone held and kept him upright, someone who slid warm arms around his body to support him.

Birthday Book Giveaway.
Hmmm, I haven't done a contest for a while now. Since it's soon to be my birthday, and I've a lot of things to be extremely grateful for right now, how about another giveaway? Here's the deal. Open internationally, an e-book of your choice in whatever format you need it, up to the value of £5 (that's about $8 US or Canadian or Australian). Or, as I've been reminded, if you can find an actual book with free postage (from the Book Depository) then that's another option.
To enter, simply leave your name/id/twitter handle etc and the title of the book you would like, preferably with a link to where I can buy it, and you're in. Contest opens from the moment this post goes live until the end of July - that's midnight GMT on the 31st. Winner to be announced as soon as I've drawn one on the 1st August (it's Sunday so I'm not promising to do it early, sorry). Sound fair enough? I'll take your entry to the contest as a 'yes!' :)
