Preternatura Books Club: Vampire Hate Groups (& W*n Some Books)
Welcome back to the Preternatura Book Club! We'll be talking about topics that are related to the book we're reading but are general enough for you to pipe up and voice an opinion.
Each book read will last four weeks, which is a much faster schedule than we've done on previous books. We begin today with the second twelve chapters of GUILTY PLEASURES, book one in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton.Today's giveaway will be a mystery grab-bag with three books from m...

Make My Day, Punk: W*n #Dystopian KOP KILLER by Warren Hammond
Let’s talk about boys and girls, and how they’re different. No, not THAT. Get your minds out of the gutter. Naughty, naughty. I’m talking about writing. For reasons I don’t quite understand, urban fantasy is dominated by women authors, and I’m down with that since I am one. But there are some really awesome UFs by male authors out there too (hello, Jim Butcher?) and they’re…different. Science fiction tends to have more male authors. Dystopians seem evenly split. But they’re different, dependin...

New Releases August 19-26 and Reader's Choice C*ntest
Funny how all the heavy release weeks are the first and last weeks of the month. Which lets us catch our breaths for a couple of weeks. In other words, this is a light week. Next week? Not so much, so get ready!
Now…Reader’s Choice time. As always, leave a comment telling me the book here you’d most like to win, and maybe random.org will make your wishes come true. International? Of course! As long as Book Depository delivers to your country, please do enter.
Now, here we go….

Q&A with #UF Author Kristi Jones (& W*n The Corpse Goddess)
I always love finding new urban fantasy authors, and today I'm happy to introduce you to Kristi Jones, who has a new book, The Corpse Goddess, that is about a Valkyrie facing "death duty." Great spin on the urban fantasy zombie trope!Kristi Jones spent her childhood exploring European castles, crumbling manor houses and ornate cathedrals, always looking for secret passages and hidden rooms. She holds a degree in European history and loves to throw ‘ordinary’ characters into extraordinary circ...

Hapless Genie + Pro Footballer = MAGIC GONE WILD by Judi Fennell (W*n a Copy!)
Today's featured book is by an author I was fortunate enough to meet at Authors After Dark last week, where we shared a panel on humor in urban fantasy and paranormal romance. You can learn more about Judi from her website.Judi writes terrific light paranormals with lots of sexy humor. The new book, Magic Gone Wild, which was released August 1, is...
