New Releases July 24-31 & Reader's Choice C*ntest
Remember the last couple of slow, lazy weeks? Not many books to choose from? Well, that’s over. Get ready. In fact, this list is so loaded (uh, hello--Kate Daniels, Kitty, Sands...Does everything have to come out at once?) I will run it two weeks. So a pick this week, and another pick next week.
First, the commercial messages. My alter-ego Susannah Sandlin is over at The SeraphineMuse as the Redemption Virtual Tour continues. And, yep, another chance to enter the giveaways, including a $5...

Jean Lafitte Discovers Modern Plumbing (& Did You W*n a Book This Week?)
Welcome to Scene-Snippet Sunday!
Every Sunday, I share a snippet of a scene from one of my books--a different one for my various sites. Over at the Susannah Sandlin blog today is a scene snippet from book two in the Penton Legacy series, Absolution. At my official website is a scene from the second Sentinels of New Orleans book, River Road, wherein the undead pirate Jean Lafitte talks on a cell phone. And in this scene, also from River Road, he waxes enthusiastic over modern plumbing.
DJ has be...

Towering TBR Thursday--Take Some of These Books...Please!
First, if you missed the "Live with Tamaria" radio interview last night, go over to Susannah Sandlin's website and click the link at the top of the righthand column.
Now...
You think I'm joking about toppling TBR piles, don't you? I'm expecting a producer from "Hoarders: Buried Alive" to show up at my door any day now. So I photographed my TBR "pile" (that term is a joke at this point) just to prove it. Note that these books are in no order whatsoever. The only common denominator is that I have...

Cover Reveals! And Royal Street Annotated--A New Chapter is Up!
Haven't read Royal Street? (And, why not, I must ask--LOL.) No worries--this is a spoiler-free feature each week or so as I go through the book pulling out some Easter Eggs and annotations. Today's takes a kind of gross turn, I have to warn you.
First, today's commercials. I'm over at For What It's Worth Reviews today with five reasons why visiting New Orleans in August (as many of us will be doing for Authors After Dark in just a couple of weeks) is sheer insanity. It involves raccoons and pa...

New Releases July 16-23 & Reader's Choice C*ntest
It’s another kind of slowish week in the world of speculative fiction releases, but some interesting titles. Might be a good week to pick a new author to try! (But next week, get ready!) I think my pick this week would be to choose the first book in Ian Tregillis’ Triptych series. The second one comes out this week but it’s a new series to me and it sounds interesting. Seed also sounds interesting, if creepy.
First, the commercial interruptions. The giveaway at Dark Faerie Tales continues for...
