New Releases March 1-7 and Readers Choice C*ntest
March roars in with a deluge of new releases in the first week! There are over fifty books being released in our genres this week. Yes, 5-0-plus. Might as well get out a pen and start making a list because there are some good ones here. Can you say "time for a new Mercy Thompson" book? Ann Aguirre? Rob Thurman? Seanan McGuire? Erica Hayes? Nalini Singh? Ah.....I'm gonna be so poor.
Now….What do you want to read? As always, leave a comment telling me the book you...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Scene-Snippet Sunday-Elysian Fields (& Weekly W*nners)
Welcome to Scene-Snippet Sunday! Thanks for bearing with me through some erratic postings last week. It's looking like another insane week coming up on the day job, but I'll definitely be back tomorrow for Reader's Choice. Because HOLY COW PATTIES, there are a ton of books coming out this week!First, though, it's time for a new scene snippet, this week from Elysian Fields. It won't be out until August 13, which seems like forever, but what can you do?
In this scene snippet, DJ and Alex are mee...

Welcome to the Meltdown
Just a quick note to say that Preternatura is taking a couple of days' hiatus. Those who are regular readers here know I've recently had a day-job change that's proving to be a challenge, plus some tight writing deadlines. I'm also the sole caregiver for a housebound parent who's having some health issues.
So, I'm taking a few days off to regroup, and will be back on Sunday with a new Scene Snippet and will resume the regular daily blogging with Monday's Reader's Choice contest.
In the meantime...

Shop Talk: Blog Tours, Social Media and Stuff
First, a commercial break for today’s stop on the Susannah Sandlin Omega tour—check over at the Susannah Sandlin website for the URLs on today’s stop. Only two days left to enter for the big prize!
So, I said earlier that today’s Shop Talk would be about ebooks and the recent news from Barnes and Noble that made me wonder if the Nook platform was going to become an endangered species. But I think it’s too early to have that talk. Too much is uncertain with B&N right now. And d...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Need to W*n a #Kindle or Big GC?
Sorry, but I got caught in a big deadline crunch over the weekend and didn't get my blogging-ahead done, so I find myself, for the first time in over a year, without a blog. Egads. This must not happen again!
So I thought I'd share my tour stop today for the Susannah Sandlin Omega tour--I'm doing an interview at the For the Love of Film and Books blog, and you can enter for the big tour giveaway of a choice of Kindle Paper White or a $100 gift card to the online bookseller of your choice. You...

New Releases Feb. 23-28 and Reader’s Choice C*ntest
Monday again and the last week of February. Not a big week for new releases, but there are some interesting titles coming out this week. Enjoy this “light” week because the first week of March will bring an amazing number of new releases.
Now….What do you want to read? As always, leave a comment telling me the book you’d most like to win, and maybe random.org will make your wishes come true. Your choice of print or digital unless otherwise stated. International?...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

A Little Elysian Fields Preview (& Weekly W*nners)
Welcome to Scene-Snippet Sunday, where I share a little slice of a scene from a work-in-progress or upcoming release. Today, how about a teaser from Elysian Fields? The third book in the Sentinels of New Orleans series picks up two weeks after River Road, and will be out on August 13. Yeah, it's a long time to wait, but I don't make the schedules! In this scene, which comes in the first third of the book, DJ has been digging up information on a serial killer from early 1900s New Orlean who was...

Free-for-All Friday: This and That (& a Fr*e Book of Choice!)
I’m on a seriously seriously serious deadline through Monday, so I’m keeping it simple today. I want you to go to the Flickr page of fantasy author Jim C. Hines . (When you click on the first one, it will let you go through a slide show so you don’t have to go back and forth.)
I want you to have a big laugh. I want you to come back here and tell me which of his photo gallery you like best. And then I will let random.org pick out a person to win a book of their choice. Yep, any boo...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>
