It's Time for Bacchus!

Super Bowl? Fuhgeddaboutit. It's Mardi Gras, or at least the last weekend of the Mardi Gras season, which will culminate on Fat Tuesday.

On the Sunday of the last weekend of Mardi Gras, I'd normally be parked in my folding chair with a cooler and snacks along the 3200 block of St. Charles Avenue, waiting for the parades. Okeanos rolls about 11, followed immediately by Mid-City. Then, immediately after that, is the Krewe of Thoth. There's a break for a few hours before 5:15, when the Krewe of B...

A Pirate's Guide to Dating the Undead

Oui, mes amies, the pirate Jean Lafitte has many opinions on the topic of love, as you might imagine. And thanks to a generous invitation from Steph at Fangs, Wands, and Fairy Dust, everyone's favorite French pirate is hanging out at the Fools 4 Love blog hop today, sharing his advice for modern women who might wish to attract a suave and sophisticated pirat...uh, gentleman such as himself.

I hope you've been following all along, but even if not, hop on over to chat with Jean--I have it on goo...

Free-for-All Friday: This and That

I have tons of new books in for review, but haven’t had a chance to read them, so instead I’ll just offer up some “this and that” today.
A really funny “Mating Game” interview with Will and Randa from Omega went up midday yesterday at Dark Faerie Tales —it’s the first “interview” the two have done together, and if you’re familiar with the Penton Legacy characters, you can imagine who gets the last word (and it’s not Will)….
Except he really does, because Will is “Under the Covers” o...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Interview with Cat Adams (& W*n The Eldritch Conspiracy)

A quick note: Head over to the fabulous Fangs, Wands and Fairy Dust blog today, where I'm imagining what kind of personals ads the vampires of Penton might publish--which one would you answer? And--here's a fun one--Will and Randa (together) are participating in The Mating Game over at Dark Faerie Tales !

Now...I'm excited today to be able to welcome Cathy Clamp, who, along with Cie Adams, forms the best-selling writing duo known as Cat Adams. The Eldritch Conspiracy, the newest novel in their...

Shop Talk: How Do You Find New Authors?

First a few links for you as the Omega tour for Susannah Sandlin continues. Check out the TheFull Fang at Bitten Twice today for an interview and chance to enter for the official tour prizes (including a Kindle or Nook).
Also, check out the new review for River Road over at She Wolf Reads !

Which is sort of a segue to today’s Shop Talk topic, as I’ve been chatting with my editor for the Sentinels series about how to make the books more visible. We think we have a good series getting...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Happy Release Day! Omega by Susannah Sandlin

Yes, the incorrigible Will Ludlam, vampire at large, is finally being loosed upon the world. Today is release day for Omega, the third book in my Penton Legacy series written as Susannah Sandlin. Why do I write under two names? Mostly to keep the genres separate. Suzanne writes urban fantasy and paranormal fantasy; Susannah writes dark paranormal romance.
There’s always a lot of humor in my stories—I can’t seem to help myself—and Omega is no different. Will’s a funny guy, although...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

New Releases Feb. 1-8 and Reader’s Choice C*ntest

Holy Groundhog Day, Batman. There are a LOT of new books coming out this week. Gotta make up for that January slump. I could pick a good half-dozen of these I really NEED to read.
My other half, Susannah Sandlin, continues the virtual tour today for Omega, the third book in the Penton Legacy paranormal romance series. The book was a 4-1/2-star “Top Pick” by RT Book Reviews this month, and there are some great prizes to be had (Kindle, Nook, gift cards, books…really, lots of stuff...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Super Bowl Town: Behind the Scenes with River Road

The daily commercial message. Be sure to check Susannah Sandlin's website today for another Omega tour link to win the tour prizes (big prizes, guys), and an announcement that's sort of quasi-official.

In honor of the Super Bowl, I thought today's blog could offer a bit of a tour of things in the Sentinels of New Orleans series that 49ers and Ravens fans might encounter while they're in NOLA. Of course, they think they're experiencing Mardi Gras as well, but they aren't. The two-week Mardi Gra...

Reminder: Last Chance for Weekly C*ntests

Just a reminder that all my contests end at midnight CST on Sunday, so today's the last chance to enter. Among the giveaways: a copy of the new Kim Harrison novel, Ever After; FIVE copies of Lexi George's new Demon Hunting novel, Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar; and the weekly Reader's Choice.

The exception to the contest ending is the ongoing tour for Susannah Sandlin's Omega, which runs through Feb. 28. The book comes out Feb. 5. Tour-wide prizes include the choice of a Kindle Paper White, Nook...

If You’re a Fool 4 Luv, You Could W*n Big!

I’ll start off with some blatant self-promotion (aka BSP), as usual. Today, on the Omega Tour for Susannah Sandlin, I..er…we…er…she..whatever…is at Fang-tastic Books , talking about the challenges an author faces when she decides to blow up the whole setting of her series and move her characters underground. Sheesh. What the heck was I thinking? But here’s another chance to enter for the grand tour prize of the Kindle, Nook or $100 gift card, or for one of the smaller tour-wide or...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>
