Thanksgiving in NOLA with the Sentinels of New Orleans Crew

Thanks to everyone for sharing your Thanksgiving thanks yesterday. Like you, I'm thankful for family, for friends--and for readers! Here are a few of my favorite people. Last weekend was the first time the whole gang had gathered at my little house (uh...crowded!), and there was a fun moment when one of the kids had ventured upstairs, then came running downstairs. "You gotta go up and see the library!" he told the others. So my office and TBR mountain range became a stop on the turkey-day tou...

Thanksgiving, Part I: The #Vampires Are Thankful For....

For my friends here in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving! (For my friends outside the U.S., well, Happy Thanksgiving anyway.) And thanks for sharing your own traditions and memories with Betty yesterday!

I'm thankful for a lot of things today, including the day off from the day job. I'm a decent cook but it's not a favorite activity of mine, so I'm thankful I had my family time last weekend and all I have to do today is heat stuff up. I'm thankful for the chance to be working on a new book, althoug...

Ghosts of Thanksgiving Past with Betty Bolté and G*veaway

On this Thanksgiving eve, please help me welcome my friend Betty Bolté back to Preternatura. Betty’s latest book is Hometown Heroines: True Stories of Bravery, Daring, and Adventure, a collection of historical fiction tales based on the lives of 19 girls living in the 1800s in America. These stories were inspired by the fact that each of these girls have a landmark dedicated to them in America as a result of their efforts.

Betty lives on a farm in...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Who's Your Favorite Vampire? For the Win....

Sorry for the abbreviated post today--my last day job day before the holidays (yay), although I have to work the epic Alabama-Auburn football game all day on Saturday (boo). Don't EVEN ask who I'm pulling for because I have no idea. Both. Neither. Either. I shall wear an orange and navy shirt and red and white pants. Or something like that.

In the meantime, I'm over at the Diaries of 2 Thick Chicks blog today, answering questions about All Things Penton. You can win your choice of signed Pento...

New Releases Nov. 23--29 and Readers Choice C*ntest

Sorry to have gone absent the last few days--I had a couple of no-show guest authors and a dinner for 20 to host yesterday--yikes! But that's what takeout is for, right? Right!

Before we look at the new release list, here's a big giveaway I'm taking part in for the holidays--just look at everything you can win!

I'll be back tomorrow with news of another big holiday giveaway!

Thanksgiving week brings us a nice, tidy feast of new releases. An excellent time to add to your TBR wi...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

You're Such an Animal--Really! Share Pet Tales, Get Books

First, a commercial message: I'm over at fuonlyknew.com today, talking about the community of Penton, Alabama, which is located about twenty or thirty miles from where I live. I pull back the curtain on what's real, what's made up, and what's a mashup...and giving away a book!

I also have the beginnings of the Redemption Pinterest page up with stuff like the houses I used as patterns for the ones Aidan and Mirren live in.

New Releases November 16—November 22 and Readers Choice C*ntest

Another light week for new releases.  Think of it as our “pre-Thanksgiving” diet.  And while the number of new releases may be small this week, there are several interesting titles from which to choose.

If you have a chance today, hop on over to the Lady Scribes blog , where I'm talking about spring cleaning (even though it's fall) and showing photos of my work spaces. And there's a giveaway, of course!
What do you want to read this week? As always, leave a comment t...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Weekly Winners and Whiners

I'm the whiner, of course. Had great plans for the blog today but, as usual lately, the Evil Day Job has done in my weekend. Not that I didn't WANT to spend seven hours on my feet babysitting football fans yesterday, right? Uh huh. (And do I get paid for that, you might ask? That would be a big NO.)

Okay, whining done. I will at least announce this week's winners!

If you see your name here, please email me at this address . I'm sticking everyone in a file and will be caught up by Christmas, so i...

Can You Love a Ghost? Q and A with Alexandrea Weis (and a Giveaway!)

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to author Alexandrea Weis to Preternatura today.  Alexandrea has stopped by to talk about her most recent release, The Ghosts of Rue Dumaine, which was published on September 1st by World Castle Publishing.
Alexandrea is an advanced practice registered nurse who was born and raised in New Orleans (hm...that place sounds familiar!). Her first novel, To My Senses, introduced readers to the world of Nicci Beauvoir and kicked o...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>
