Westminster, Maryland book signing!
This past Saturday, I had a signing at the Westminster, Maryland Public Library! It was awesome!!! Thanks in large part to the librarian, Arlene! It was called "Local Reads". They are featuring a litany of local authors every Saturday. I was lucky enough to be one of them!
Here's the view from outside
When participating in a signing, always have a friend surprise you the way one of my besties, Montlake author, Cat Miller did by showing up!
Always take fun pictures, (featuring the horrendous duck-face) when at a book signing!
Podiums. Podiums are important to speak, and they are fabulous for your friends to take pictures of you standing away from them ;)
Candy. Candy is ALWAYS great to get people's attention, or to divert from the fact that you are not the greatest at public speaking ;)
Make sure to bring things OTHER than books to sign.
Of course, bring books!
Shiny objects to distract people from your horrendous speaking abilities ;) (Thank you, Danielle's Dazzling Designs!)
Make sure that you bring a sign up sheet for your street team!
And, if all else fails... being cute kids. People LOVE kids! (Thanks Sam and Monkey) Notice his hat? He's mom's personal security when his daddy is not around ;)
The hubs took the following two pictures after the signing :) Love you babe!
Needless to say, I had a blast! Thank you to all of you!!!
As always, until next time...

What turns you on Wednesday!
So, because it's "hump-day" I wanted to know what turns you one. I have a question posted on my fanpage and I want to hear what you have to say. I'm going to tell you what turns me on now, and also ask that if you choose to go over and answer that you please remember... I still have teenagers on that page and I will delete any "risque" comments. Just keep it clean guys!
I've thought about this subject a LOT! For me, nothing is sexier than to see a man, especially my husband reading. I feel like knowledge is power and with power comes EMPOWERMENT. A man that reads, is a man that has my attention. Now... if he reads my books, he REALLY has my attention If I can engage a man in an in depth conversation about a book... that's HOT! ~K.B.As always, until next time...

Happy Constitution Day!
On this day, three hundred years ago our fore-fathers signed the document that gives us our inalienable rights-- The Constitution.
It is because of them they we should all celebrate this day!
We must remember all that have paid the ultimate price for these rights and never allow them to be taken away from us.
Happy Constitution Day, fellow Americans!

Featured Author, Teresa Mummert
Have you ever felt an instant connection with an author? Their words touch your soul to the core? Well, I have and I'm not alone concerning this author. I met her through another fabulous friend and author, Cat Miller. She told me, "K.B., you have to check out Teresa Mummert! She is one funny chick and she's a kick ass writer!" So, of course... I went to check her out. The first thing that I saw when I went to her page was;
I immediately sent her a friends request on Facebook. After a few exchanges, I knew that she had a sense of humor like mine. This chick is AH-mazeballs!
But, what about her writing, K.B.? Is she any "good" I was asked repeatedly as I began sharing links for her books on my fanpage. Well... I needed to read one of her books to find out, right? Right. Problem... I wasn't a fan a Contemporary Romance. However, I had to know if this chick could write. So, she had just released The Note and the cover caught my attention, because it was simple, yet beautiful. I grabbed my kindle and downloaded it from Amazon.
Seven hours and almost a full box of tissues later... Holy BALLS!
First, I discovered that I DO in fact enjoy Contemporary Romance... if it's written well.
Second, HOLY BALLS, again! The Note wowed and impressed the hell out of me. That's saying a LOT coming from a YA/NA Paranormal writer ;) The way Teresa took a very simple and real issue facing some of our service men and women today and spun this tragic, yet heartwarming tale of love triumphing over heartbreak was perfection at its finest. 5 star book! If you haven't checked it out, go now! Click on the pictures, they'll take you right over there :)
After reading The Note, I downloaded all of her books in addition to purchasing the ones that were available in print. You guys know me, I only buy books in print that I know I'll read again. And all of Teresa's books are GOLD! I've listed them all below for you. EVEN the books that are available for pre-order. Get your download on, but I must warn you... have tissues and in some cases, a fan and cigarette at the ready! Happy Reading <3

"I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney's Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn't resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today. If you have a moment I'd like to tell you a story. (This bio is not to be taken seriously under any circumstance.)"See what I mean? Instant awesomeness!

My review of P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
Blurb
A novel about holding on, letting go, and learning to love again. Now in paperback, the endearing novel that captured readers' hearts and introduced a fresh new voice in women's fiction Cecelia Ahern.
Holly couldn't live without her husband Gerry, until the day she had to. They were the kind of young couple who could finish each other's sentences. When Gerry succumbs to a terminal illness and dies, 30-year-old Holly is set adrift, unable to pick up the pieces. But with the help of a series of letters her husband left her before he died and a little nudging from an eccentric assortment of family and friends, she learns to laugh, overcome her fears, and discover a world she never knew existed.
The kind of enchanting novel with cross-generational appeal that comes along once in a great while, PS, I Love You is a captivating love letter to the world!
Review
5 OwlsI actually found out about this book after seeing the movie. (Gerard Butler ... swoon) Friends and family cautioned me, because of losing my mother to cancer, this could be something that could possibly re-hash those horrible feelings. But ... they were wrong. It didn't hurt me to read this book. It had the exact opposite effect on me. It was cathartic, healing and in all reality a wonderful distraction! The book is different from the movie is several ways, but to me the two most glaring instances of these differences were; The movie was set in New York. The Book was set in Ireland. And, in the book Holly is left a note/message from Jerry every month and in the movie it's just a few. After reading this book the first time, I have read it every few months just to feel the wonderful, emotional rollercoaster it takes me on. And, it does ... EVERY single time that I read it. Totally recommend!

The wait is over... Savior by Jennifer Malone Wright is here!
Savior is formerly known as The Birth of Jaiden by Jennifer Malone Wright, it has been re-edited, a little bit of new content added and given a new name and new cover.
Savior (A Higher Collective Novel)Alexander Lucas is a man of faith, casino owner and vampire. He should be living the Reno high life of riches and immortality. Instead, he wakes each night despising the blood on his hands and begging for a reason to continue on.
The last beat of his heart took place shortly after losing his family to a gruesome and violent death. One snowy night, the creature who had been stalking him finally took his life, in turn giving him the gift of immortality. Yet, immortality to Alex is not a gift, but rather a curse to live in eternal pain.
Nearly a century of tortured existence leads him to a dumpster in a dark alley where he finds a reason for continuing on. Nestled between bits of debris and rubbish a tiny infant wails for help. He calls for his best friend and guardian angel, Danielle, who explains to him that he has been chosen to raise this baby, for she would someday become a very powerful, natural witch. She tells him it is now his job to protect her from the enemy who wants her so badly, yet also to be her father.
Thinking this angel is out of her mind, Alex refuses many times until Danielle convinces him that the enemy, Malcolm and his wife Levine, cannot obtain the child and that they are, indeed attempting to find her. He must keep her safe, because if evil hands raise her than she will grow to possess the power to annihilate them all.
Luckily, Alex is not alone, he has The Higher Collective to assist in his mission. With the combined powers of the Vampires, Angels, Dark Angels, Witches and Warlocks, The Higher Collective prepares for a battle to protect the child from the evil she may possibly inherit.
Jennifer Malone WrightAuthor BioJennifer Malone Wright is best known for her short story series, The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter's Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles and her vampire novel called Savior. Jennifer also co-authors a series called Once Upon A Zombie Apocalypse. She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.Jennifer also loves coffee, has a passionate affair with red bull, wishes the sushi were better where she lives and dances while she cleans.

Under the Dome...
I've recently watched the first two (2) episodes of the highly anticipated mini series based on Stephen King's bestselling book, Under the Dome. I have to say, I effing loved it! I hadn't even purchased the book yet, but I rectified that little dilemma earlier in the week. I tried starting the book as a bedtime read, however it's proving difficult to put the book down. Now, while I think the book so far is good, it's definitely NOT King's best work. After reading The Langoliers, Salem's Lot, IT, Storm of the Century-- Under the Dome is sort of falling short of the thrilling twists that I'm used to while reading the Master's work. I'll leave a full review as soon as I'm finished reading. I'm also going to leave a review for the mini series as a separate review. <3As always, until next time...
