Someone is strangling disabled people in the small town of Baxter, Connecticut. Detective Courtney Lang and her ex-partner and ex-lover, wheelchair-bound Bill Thompson, are paired up again and put in charge of the investigation. During the course of their search, Courtney uncovers information that points toward a connection between the murders and an unsolved series of muggings by a masked man, the same man who shot and disabled Bill a year ago on the night he proposed marriage to her.
Complicating matters for Courtney is her guilt about Thompson’s shooting, her affair with her new partner, Mark Farrell, and her unresolved feelings over the deaths of her mother and sister who perished in a fire while she was away from home.
As the deaths accrue and the “Handicapped Strangler” as the killer is coined by the press continues to rampage the town adding victims of different ages, sex, and disabilities to the murder count, Courtney discovers a clue that could crack open the case but may put her and Bill’s life in jeopardy.

Dead Again

Good morning and welcome to wwwblogs. This month, we’re focusing on paranormal books. There will be a lot of visitors making an appearance but on Sundays and Tuesdays, this blog will be all about things that go bump in the night!
Ghosts, ghouls, demons, you name it and I find it fascinating. Anything that can’t be proven becomes a story in my head, a way to explain those mysterious bumps in the night or things moving when no one is near them. Oh, I’ve heard all the explanations about how it could be cars driving past or a minor earthquake—good luck proving the second one to me. I can feel earthquakes, having grown up in an area where they abound.
Welcome Susan Lynn Solomon to the blog today. She’s here, talking about her book, Dead Again…

When Emlyn Goode’s mother returns to Niagara Falls for a high school reunion, so does murder. During the reunion, a woman’s body is found in the ladies room. Is this killing connected to one that occurred 40 years before in the woods below the town of Lewiston? Harry Woodward, a young police officer working his first murder case suspected Emlyn’s mother of the crime, although there wasn’t enough evidence to arrest her.
Home from a year-long leave, Harry—now the Niagara Falls Chief of Detectives—together with Emlyn’s friend, Detective Roger Frey, investigates the latest killing. Distraught over indications her mother might have been involved in both murders, Emlyn, with her cohort, Rebecca Nurse, sets out to prove otherwise. But, danger lurks in the shadows when amateurs—even ones with witchy skills—get involved with murder.

Not one… not two… not three… Four nearly impossible tasks await the Landry Ghosties. Failure is not an option. They must complete each one or face a horrible punishment.
It all begins as All Hallows Eve approaches. The ghost of former gold miner, Montana Jack, is called in front of the Ghostie Council. They’re very upset at these talented teens. Yet, the council admits their particular talents are necessary with a problem in another part of the world. In order to determine if the Landry Ghosties can follow the rules, they must complete four tests before the annual festivities in their hometown.
Hailey, Tink, Sly, Freddie, and Annie join forces with Rick, Suzie, and James in this tough paranormal adventure. Their ghost assistants are there for a bit of help along the way. Can they complete each task before Scare on the Square starts on Halloween?
Excerpt
Montana Jack, longtime coordinator of the Ghosties International Network and a spirit of the netherworld for much longer, sighed as he faced the tall heavy wooden door. All it would take was a single touch of his hand and he would discover the reason he’d been released from his exile and ordered to report to The Committee.
“No good comes from this bunch of spooks,” he muttered beneath his breath. “They’ve had me as their dancing marionette ever since I refused to go to the Great Beyond.” He shakes his head in disgust. “Nah. They’ve had me at their beck and call since I decided to work the human Ghosties and left the in charge.”
Montana Jack held up his misty fist and reflected on the job he’d been doing for so long. He’d been murdered for the few gold nuggets in his pouch while mining on Silver Creek in 1864. The miscreant that did him in came from behind, but Jack got a glimpse of the man’s ugly mug. All he could remember to this day was the sharp end of a shovel meeting with his head, blackness, and awakening to a mysterious voice telling him that he was now in charge of aiding young men and women with special talents.
After discovering he was happier in the field, he’d selected a group of individuals to oversee the whole operation—the same group he was about to spend some not very quality time with now. “‘Tain’t no good reason for them to call me here,” he muttered. “I can put good money down on what they want, if I actually had any, that is.”

You are your job. And Leander soon finds his job very confusing. And very, very, scary.
When he no longer trusts the people he works for, the people he works with, or indeed, his own mind, his grip on just about everything starts to loosen.
A Night at the Dream Theater is a horror, a comedy, brimming with science fiction, and slightly strange.
About Mark TaylorMark Taylor's debut novel crash landed on planet earth in 2013. Its dark brooding style benchmarked his writing and has led to further releases of novel and short story collection alike.
While most of Mark's work is macabre, occasion has it that he will write about kittens and daisies. Just not very often.

Whichever it is he works happily, portraying dark existences on this planet and others. He relays his fears and doubts on his characters, so always has a smile. If Mark is real, as some say he is, you might find him in England.
Perhaps.

Sixteen-year-old Mia remembers hearing a loud noise just before she reached her summer camp. It is her last living memory.
A year later, she haunts the place, vowing not to be lost forever. Her boyfriend, Jax, promises to find her, regardless of the bewildering obstacles put in his way. He just doesn’t know why no one wants her found. No one… except him.
Excerpt
Summer is the worst experience of all of my sixteen years. What can I say about the time, except that I’m not in school, my parents don’t bother hiding their hatred for each other, and I have to go to camp. In fact, that’s where I’m headed now. Good old Camp WatcheeWatchee—or as my friends and I refer to it, Camp Do Nothing, Know Nothing, Experience Boredom.
“Slow down, Charles.” Even an order sounds like a whine coming out Mom’s mouth.
She’s been like that for months now, always whining, always complaining, always demanding a better vacation spot, one where she doesn’t have to put up with surly teens.
I’m not surly. Far from it, but my parents don’t get that. They never get anything their pop psychologist doesn’t approve both verbally or in writing.
“I’m not speeding.” Dad grinds his teeth and takes another curve like we’re in the Indy 500, and he’s in the lead.

Doctor Hydenberg has a theory. Not only does the human mind hold memories of people and places seen, but he believes the human eyes have the capacity to retain these same memories. What if a dead person's eyes could be harvested and given to a new host? And what if this new host had the unique ability to read and see his benefactor's memories? Unimaginable? Perhaps not if the right host can be found.

Some souls were not meant to lead lives in the sun. They remain hidden within dark realms in fear of being seen and misunderstood. That is Ian's fate after suffering at the hands of a demon blinded by rage and sorrow. Yet there exists a threat in the light, spreading lies driven by fear in warning others to be weary of the unknown prowling the depths of the forest. The unyielding belief in the justification of cruelty in seeking to end that which has been branded as profane proves all consuming. When entering the forest after twilight to pronounce final judgement for those in hiding, the threshold of good versus evil is blurred by the righteous. And thus the question may be asked. Who is the true creature of the night?
