Parole Violation

I am taking a vacation from serious writing for the moment and am stealing Sunday as a result.

Cheers to all of us thieves!

1. Why is your favorite color your favorite?

My favorite color is deep, royal purple. I love how rich the tone is and it's not a commonly seen color. I also love to wear it, I feel very chic when I do.

2. Do you prefer dogs or cats or do you just hate animals, and want to kill baby seals?

I was raised a cat person, but have since converted to dogs, specifically Pitbulls. I...

The Ways in Which I Would Pleasure Him

Last night, after a day filled with so many emotions, I was desperately in need of a little pleasure. So, as has become my habit, I sought out my favorite gay porn website. My need for an orgasm was high. I find that is often the case whenever I am experiencing extremes of emotion. I realize it's a form of self-medication, but I really didn't care. Restraint was for another day.

I pulled up a video of two exquisitely muscled, dark-haired men and settled in. My hand already nestled firmly...

The Poetry that is Justice

Yesterday, I found out that my father shot himself to death with my grandfather's .22 calibre rifle. When I found out the circumstances that led him to take his life, it came as no surprise, but it did force me to reflect on the often poetic nature of justice.

Some background is required for you to fully understand. My father was a neglectful and emotionally abusive man. He ignored us ruthlessly until he needed something and then he demanded and took relentlessly. We learned to eat fast so...

I Don't Know How to React

I just found out, via Facebook no less, that my father is dead. My nephew posted an update twelve hours ago and when I saw that all I could think was … nothing. Absolutely, nothing. I'm still blank. I'm not sad, I'm not happy, I'm just blank.

To clarify … this  man disowned me after abusing me mentally the majority of my life. I am not expecting to grieve, I'm more just stunned that it finally happened.

The Shame Effect; or Closing Your Eyes Won't Help

Reblogged from Alchemy of the Word:

I've been thinking about sex a lot, lately. Not just because I'm not getting any, either. Some of you may remember my Sex in Fiction post, where I talked about how negative some of the reactions to graphic descriptions of sex can be and what you should do about them. (Summary: make the scenes more graphic.) I've also complained about some of the prurient attitudes of some beta readers to the sex depicted in my latest novel, The Fate of Stars. (I posted...

Remittance Girl Says it All

I can't possibly duplicate the  brilliant satire of this post by Remittance Girl on the Paypal debacle. Phenomenal post.

For the Ladies: Manly Man Sounds

Our collective friend, Cruel, sent this little treat along to me. When I opened my inbox and saw the title of the link, I responded like the proverbial Pavlovian dog. I got wet and tingly and just a hint breathless in anticipation. I'll say no more and leave it to each of you to respond with your own reactions to this lovely treat.

Cruel just sent me a link so here you go!

Getting Tag Teamed and Other Honors

Pull your mind out of the gutter, because you know that's exactly where it went … unfortunately, this little miss won't be getting tag teamed for real anytime soon, so that stays on the bucket list. In reality, I was tagged by the lovely LizzieCracked not Broken (my apologies for my slowness in following the rules)

Here are The Rules.

You must post the rules.Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.Tag eleven...

Paypal, Pitbulls & the Purge

So much has been said on the Paypal censorship debacle that I've primarily been reblogging rather than writing because so many writers are arguing much more eloquently than I could about the problem that I felt like I'd just be recreating the wheel. That being said, I caution against oversimplifying the problem by focusing on the content of the books. As I see it, there are three different areas of consideration:

The crime Paypal is committingThe group of people who are being victimizedThe...
