The Ties That Bind...

Some of the ties I am getting rid of are in this pile. They brought unexpected heartache while cleaning out my closet.

The WonderDan remodeled my closet this past weekend which provided an opportunity to haul all the crap in it, out of it.

Pretty cool, huh?

So, part of the process was going through a bajillion trillion ties that I no longer wear unless forced to and decide which ones I wanted to keep and which ones to get rid of.

The ties in the photo at the beginning of the post are ones that didn’...

The Odd Tribes That Make Up the Gay Male Sexual/Social Identity

Am I a Daddy (older sexy male)? Zaddy (older stylish sexy male)? ←I am not even really sure that’s what Zaddy means. I know Pedro Pascal is supposed to be one.

Give me a moment to recover from the light-headed swoon I just had thinking of Pedro.

… sigh … I mean, have you seen him?

Back to it. Am I a woodland creature like a Bear (hairy big guy) or Otter (hairy skinnier guy) ← probably not yet, and I am not like hairy hairy. Or am I a Wolf (aggressive)← I can be ;)? I have been labeled...

National Coming Out Day Is Today

It would appear as time goes by that National Coming Out Day has become a day of encouragement and celebration. Where Gay Pride parades and festivals are more defiant and a message outward from the LGBTQ+ community saying, “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it!” Coming Out Day in my opinion is more of a love letter inward toward our own community. Let me explain…

I believe Coming Out Day started as a community cohesion type of support for individuals to assert and reveal themselves as being LG...

Happy Two-Year Anniversary, Thrive!

We just passed the two-year anniversary (9/21/2024) of this Substack, Thrive. Aside from a scandal that nearly pushed me off the platform, I have loved every minute. The scandal was about Nazis publishing Substacks. Eventually they were removed from publishing here (thank goodness).

Well, as a thank you, I have changed the subscription fees for Thrive. So, if you feel inclined to support this publication, please do. Here is a screen shot of the subscription tiers:

Please consider becoming a paid s...

The Prophet's Mistake

So this post is in response to this Facebook post (screenshot):

Well if that ain’t the love of Jesus … what is?

Well I can’t speak on behalf of satan or any demons but I don’t want or need “godly prophetic men” to shut down; let people see what is really in your heart. Which, by the look of it, is a very wounded and broken man projecting his issues and ego onto everyone around him thinking that is a form of love-empowered ministry.

And, get them so angry they will listen to you when yo...

The Gay Hurricane

In what seems to be written by AI, the article “How the Church Can Be the Mainstay of Society Admist the LGBTQ Inrush” is full of toxic ex-gay ideology disguising itself as a safe haven of understanding. Here are just a few quotes from the overly long article and my response. Then, in conclusion, I add just a few more thoughts on this dynamic.

In today's society, LGBTQ issues are hitting the church like a hurricane. How can the church...

Small

So, you know how I was only going to focus on my social media platforms in my last post? Weeeyyyellll… I once again realized that long-form writing is one of my creative outlets/outward processing/bringer-of-a-different-kind-of-joy. I still have to learn to be ok with writing when I can, not according to my unrealistic expectations. I have unpaused the paid supporters’ regular support donations (thank you!). And to both paid and free subscribers, thank you for reading and letting me take a littl...

Come Join Me On The Social Networks

Long-form writing has slipped off the radar for now. Between a busy workload at the day job, and honestly burnout, I need time to enjoy my family, friends, painting, and my social media presence.

So on that note, I have paused payments from paid subscribers here until I return to Substack. And, I will be back at some point. Long-form writing will always be a part of my life; it too is also a creative outlet. I simply need a break from it for a little while.

Come with me over to the Socials! I am o...
