Here is my teaser:“Oh, now you’re interested in all my hard work?”
“Okay, Sam, what else do you have? And yes, I know I owe you big time.”
“As long as we understand each other.” Smiling, Lyons shuffled through about ten photographs until...

Book Review: The Secret of Crickley Hall by James Herbert
I love ghost stories. They’re my absolute favorite stories, so I’ve read a lot of them. I have to say that The Secret of Crickley Hall is one of the better ghost stories I’ve read. Next to The Woman in Black and The Shining, it’s one of my absolute favorites.
First of all, the setting, which is absolutely perfect. A small, quaint town, with a rather gruesome (but not too gruesome) history. In 1943, amidst World War II, more than forty people drowned when the rivers flooded. Eleven of them were...

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (23)
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila of Book Journey. It’s where book bloggers gather to talk about what books they read and reviewed last week, what books they’re currently reading and what books they’re planning to read. This is a great way for me to plan my reading week, and to take a sneak peek at what others are reading.

Friday Film Review: Les Misérables
I tell myself I’m a harsh reviewer. I don’t throw out five-star ratings like a kid throws out cookies. But in the case of Les Misérables, I have no choice. This movie moved me, grabbed me, sweeped me up and didn’t let me go for the two hours and a half it lasted. I was glad the theater didn’t offer any breaks inbetween, since it would’ve lessened the magic that is so prominently available in this spectacle.
I’ve never read Les Misérables, to my utmost shame, because I want to read it in French...
Book Review: The Asylum by Johan Theorin
I’m a huge fan of psychological thrillers. Within the thriller genre, they rank second on my list, just below supernatural thrillers. So of course I was thrilled to get started on The Asylum. The book was originally published in Sweden and has since travelled all across the globe. With that much buzz going on, it had to be good. And it was, except that I was a tiny bit dissapointed. A lot of plot points here are based on random events and coincedences. I don’t believe in coincedences, and I t...
