SSS 10-14-12
I can't believe it's time to post for SSS again already! Where did this week go? Well, I mentioned last week that I've gone into edits with Jesse's Soul. I am happy to tell you all, I'm sooooo excited at how this is shaping and coming together! I'm sure I'll hit a couple of bumps but in the meantime it's flowing nicely and I'm excited to get it out to all of you!
So with the little that you've learned about Jesse and Emery, you know he's a smokin' ass hot cowboy from Texas that rides the bike that dark-haired Irish beauty, Emery works on. Talk about oil and water! But damn, Jesse is stubborn when he's got his mind set on something!
Jesse smiled, watching her and her dad laughing and joking around. In that brief moment with her father, she had let her guard down, and Jesse got a glimpse of the real woman. The sparkle in her green eyes shone brighter than anything he’d ever seen, and the dimples made her…perfect. “Now who’s being smug?” she joked back.
Reid brushed off his shoulder. “Hey, what can I say? I’m a hell of a teacher.”
Well, I'm gonna get back to my edits, I'm on a roll and well you know! In the meantime, please stop by http://www.sixsunday.com/ and visit my fellow participating authors! I'm so impressed by all the wonderful stories I'm now addicted to, plus I've made some great friends this way <3
Have a great Sunday...Hugs,A

Six Sentence Sunday 10/7/12
Happy Sunday Everyone! <3
Well, the wheels are spinning on Book 2 of the RTL series, Jesse's Soul is releasing 1/3/13! I just went into edits with it Friday night. Very exciting - very scary! It is after all another one of my 'babies' :) Plus you have to add-in deadlines and oh don't forget Life, which the last few months has decided to remind me who's in charge at every damn turn! LOL
I'll keep adding snippets of Jesse's Soul to SSS for awhile, but some of them may change by the final okay to print : D ... just how it goes sometimes.. lol This week's sentences, appear very short. And in fact, several of their exchanges are short in the beginning. That's to be expected when you throw two strong-willed, stubborn as hell people into a situation together and add chemistry to the mix. Except one person is fighting it like hell!
Have a great week everybody, thanks for visiting, and please stop by http://www.sixsunday.com/ to visit my fellow participating authors!
xxoo
“Emery, honey. You need sleep.”
She rubbed both hands over her face trying to wake herself up. “Jesse, I’m fine, I just need some coffee.”
“You need a bed.”
“I need coffee."
Doesn't he know not to argue with a woman before she's had caffeine! Poor Jesse!

LOOK!! A Writing Challenge... 10-1-12
LOOK!! A Writing Challenge....
My sweet and talented friend has thrown down the gauntlet so to speak LOL... Sandra Bunino ( http://sandrabunino.com/ ) is passing this challenge along from her friend Claire Gillian. Thank you Sandra for including me, this was a blast!
Here's the challenge (which I will passing onto five fellow authors ) Find the LOOKs in your current WIP & post the paragraphs around the word. Choose your FAVORITE three to post. hmmmm... this could be scary! (do you hear my evil laugh?)
I'm posting 3 paragraphs from my upcoming release, and the second in the Racing to Love series, book 2 - Jesse's Soul.
Just to give you a little insight...
These all happen to be in heroine's POV. The 1st paragraph involves a secondary character, not my hero Jesse. Emery is a mix of fire and love, and she's not a woman to tangle with. I hope you like!!
“Thanks.” Like most of the walk through the airport, and the cab ride to the stadium, she kept her answers short. Emery couldn’t fault the guy for trying. He was handsome and friendly enough, if she’d been looking for something. Hopefully he’d gotten the hint, she wasn’t.
Emery knew who Jesse was, had seen him before when she’d been around, had seen him on TV. She hadn’t however, met him in person. His low-slung 501s and black t-shirt did little to mask the muscled man beneath them. He was sexy as sin and his trademark five o’clock shadow only made him look…dangerous. His body screamed one thing, but his face gave the man away. The way his light brown eyes crinkled when he flashed her his crooked smile sent Emery on high alert.
“Look.” Emery started, “Let’s get this over with, right here, right now. I know that bike, inside and out. The setup needs some changes made, and I’ve watched race tape on you for the last three days. I know what I need to do to make it better for you. I know what to do to put that bike on the podium. You can either trust me, and make it to the podium with it. Or…”
Racing to Love - Jesse's Soul releases 1/3/13...
Now on to my next dear, sweet lovelies to send this to... hmmmmm??? :D

SSS 9-30-12
Six Sentence Sunday 9-30-12 :D
Last week I told you I'd introduce you to Emery...well Emery is a breed all her own and she isn't easily figured out. Jesse has to spend several weeks peeling back layer after layer... Here's his first impression! Hope you like it. Please stop by www.sixsunday.com to visit the rest of the wonderful authors participating in SSS. I can guarantee you'll find at least one new book to add to your "to read" list! Happy Sunday all.
Hugs,
A
Jesse stood stalk still staring at Emery. He could not figure out what just hit him. He was mesmerized by her green eyes, and at the same time he was both completely taken and terrified by her personality. Eli and Molly were snickering behind him watching the whole introduction. Jesse could hear them, but couldn't break the trance he had slipped into in her presence.Emery waited several seconds in silence before she went on, apparently waiting on him to answer.

Six Sentence Sunday... Let's meet Jesse
I started last week with a snipet from book 2 in the Racing to Love series. Jesse's Soul releases 1//3/13... so, let's meet Jesse!

My dear sweet friend Nicky Wells....
One of the things I am truly blessed with is the amazing friends I've made along my journey as an author. People from all over the world that I would never have come in contact with. People like my dear sweet friend, Nicky Wells. She is just a ball of energy and I adore her so much! I know you will too. She's here to tell you all about her new release; Sophie's Turn! It came out at the beginning of September so check it out! Love you girl!
Take it away Nicky...........
Just the right side of hot and steamy!
As I’m visiting my fellow Sapphire Star Publishing author, the amazing Amy Gregory, today, I thought I’d come out of the closet on the subject of romance and sex.
You see, Amy here writes sweet romance. And I adore sweet romance. Of course, there’s nothing at all wrong with hot and steamy. However, mummy porn (you know what I mean, and if you don’t… where have you been??) isn’t for me. I don’t need that level of explicitness.
Why not, you want to know. I couldn’t really say. I’m not a prude, by a long shot. I’m not above a crude joke here or there. I don’t blush or cringe when I have to have rudimentary birds-and-bees conversation with my young kids. I’m quite matter of fact about these matters.
But they don’t belong in a book in that level of detail, as far as I’m concerned. I know people go crazy for it, but it’s just not my cuppa. If I read romance, I’d like the sex to be in my head. I’d like to paint my own pictures, please. A friend of mine used to say, books have the better pictures but that works only if there’s something left for the imagination.
Incidentally, the same goes for crime. I love reading crime, but I skip the bloody bits. I adore writers who give just enough of gore to keep the story and the plot moving along, but who don’t spend pages and pages describing in every last blood-curdling detail the injuries and torture inflicted on the poor victim. Too much information, as they say. I don’t need to know that much.
And to me, that goes for almost every book. Yes, I want the author to paint a picture, and yes, I want to know what he or she has in mind. But please, leave me some room to connect the dots, fill in the gaps and make the book mine, in my head. Give me sweet romance and innocent crime any day, I say.
What was that? You write romance, you say, you must write a few of those scenes? Well, of course I do. I write romance that rocks your world. Quite literally! There’s a rock star in play here. And where there’s a rock star, there is sex. Of course there is! I haven’t led that sheltered a life.
Do I write hot, steamy sex scene? Absolutely. I’m told there are scenes in Sophie’s Turn where you can feel the attraction sizzling between the characters. Do I go explicit? I go only so far. Do I use crude language? Absolutely not (I think…. Hastily reviewing the manuscript one more time… no, nothing crude). Do I describe the coupling in every last minute detail? Categorically, no. I try to strike my very own perfect balance, as far as I’m concerned. And I realise that for some that might be too little, for some already too much. For me, it’s just the right side of sweet. And now you’ll have to go and read for yourself, and don’t forget to come back and tell me what you think!
Thanks, Amy, for hosting me here today as part of my launch tour!

About Sophie’s Turn
Slapper. Slut. Adulteress. These are hardly words that Sophie Penhalligan would normally use to describe herself. Yet this is exactly how she is behaving, all things considered, even if she isn’t quite married to Tim yet. And it’s all happening because her past is coming to tempt her! Nine years ago, she met her teenage idol and rock star extraordinaire, Dan, up close and personal. Well, almost. Now Dan has crash-landed back in her life. How could Tim ever stand a chance against the charming, handsome singer? How could she?
Sophie, now twenty-eight and a budding newspaper journalist, is happily embroiled in a relationship with Tim, her boyfriend of two years. Until recently, she was confident that Tim would eventually propose—probably as soon as he could get his act together. But just as Tim’s persistent inaction is beginning to cast a cloud over their relationship, Dan’s sudden reappearance turns Sophie’s world upside down. Thus unfolds a roller-coaster of events including an ill-fated trip to Paris with Tim, a night of unfulfilled romance with Dan, Sophie and Tim’s engagement party gate-crashed by Dan, and Sophie’s professional secondment to accompany Dan’s band on their revival tour—at Dan’s special request and very much against her will.
And then, one fine day in Paris, Sophie suddenly finds herself engaged to Dan while her erstwhile fiancé Tim is... well, doing whatever it is Tim does back in London. What is she to do now? Who wouldn’t give anything to meet their favorite star, let alone marry him?
Find out how Sophie gets into this impossible situation, and how she turns it around, in Sophie’s Turn, the honest, funny and sometimes bittersweet story of one woman’s entanglement with a rock star.

Six Sentence Sunday 9-16-12
Six Sentence Sunday 9-16-12 and guess what folks..... Like I promised, I'm going to start teasing you with bits from book two in the Racing to Love Series - Jesse's Soul. It releases 1-3-13 and I want to get you all excited!!!
I will not kill him. I will not kill him. She decided if she made that her new mantra, it might save her dad’s life. This was not how she envisioned the introductions going. She had prepared herself for Jesse to be a little skeptical of her, but figured after a quick handshake and conversation, she’d quietly go to work. But to find out that one, Jesse was freaked out by losing Shawn, then two, to have her dear old dad withhold a little tiny piece of information from him that could possibly send the rider through the roof.
I know, I know.... you need the next paragraph don't you! Well, come back next week and I'll fill you in! In the meantime, visit my fellow participating authors at www.sixsunday.com for their entries this week! I'm at the racetrack again this weekend...Like I keep saying, my second 'home'... :D But we love it and I wouldn't want it any other way. Have a great weekend and I'll check in with you all later!
Hugs,
A

Six Sentence Sunday 9-8-12
Well, it's that day of the week again. This however, will be the last six from RTL - Carter's Treasure. Book two in the series releases 1-3-13. So, I thought I'd start putting some sixes from Jesse's Soul out for SSS. I can't wait for you all to fall in love with my good ol' boy from Texas with a heart just as big as the state he was born in.
In the meantime, I'll leave you with one last bite from Carter's Treasure. Molly is waiting in her hotel room alone while Erin went in search of pop and candy...
Molly climbed back off the bed and hustled to the door to let Erin back in. “Did you forget your key or did you get so much you couldn’t…“ Molly asked as she was pulling the door open. Her confusion stopped her.“Aren’t you going to let me in?”The danger in his voice sent her stomach to the ground.
Bahahaaaaa... You just have to know don't you??? ; ) Well I hope you've enjoyed SSS with Carter and Molly. Stayed tuned for more of their good friend Jesse! Have a great weekend all.
