With a much lighter, more nimble design than the Wallabees, the Shacre mocs become a more practical option for some. They're also, crucially, much more affordable, and according to shoppers, way more comfortable. This version also has a more fitting toe box, which many original Wallabees wearers were not the biggest fans of, especially with too much foot slippage.

Clarks didn’t stop there, introducing an Ortholite footbed and removable insole, a synthetic faux-crepe looking outsole for increased durability and comfort, and a more modern, streamlined look. It's finished with a leather construction for a shoe that gets better and more comfortable the more you wear it.

Multiple Children Injured in Bus Accident on First Day of School

A school bus carrying dozens of children and one adult flipped on its side Wednesday, just as students were returning home from the first day of school.

The accident took place in Austin, Texas and 12 people were injured in total. The bus was transporting students from the Leander Independent School District in northwestern part of the city, which is located in Travis County.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene shortly after 3 PM local time, and they arrived to find the bus rolled over into an embankment, surrounded by trees. The vehicle appears to have taken significant damage, with several scrapes, scratches and dents.

The side of the bus facing up has a large hole in it, and may have been the occupants' method of escape after the bus came to a stop.

12 people were transported to a local hospital after the accident. Of those hospitalized, one has a life-threatening injury and two could possibly have life-threatening injuries, according to Austin-Travis County emergency services.

The rest of the students were taken to a reunification center for evaluation and to eventually be back with their families.

A spokesperson for first responders told reporters that ten total transport units responded to the scene of the accident. Eight ambulances arrived, as well as two helicopters to airlift injured people away from the scene.

Texas' Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation into the crash, and has reported a few preliminary details. The bus was traveling from nearby Bagdad Elementary School and had been traveling on a road known for a slight curve.

For an "unknown reason," the bus left the right side of the road and rolled over. The bus is a 2024 Bluebird model and has seatbelts, ensuring that some of the children and the adult driver were able to secure themselves in place before the accident happened.

Unfortunately, this isn't the only bus accident to take place involving children on Wednesday in the state of Texas.

Over 50 children were hurt when a bus flipped in Cleveland, Texas - the second such accident to take place in that city's school district this week.

In that crash, which happened on the same road of FM 1010 in Cleveland, 36 students and a driver were taken to the hospital. No life-threatening injuries have been reported in either of the Cleveland, Texas crashes.

Overtrained? This Simple Pantry Staple Could Speed Recovery

If you're new to working out, or getting back into the game again, overtraining probably isn't on your radar. But it can creep up more easily than you think. First, your muscles ache no matter how much you eat. Every workout starts to leave you drained. You can’t muster the energy for your job, let alone the gym. And those gains you used to see? Gone. While there are plenty of reasons this can happen, these are the telltale signs you’re overtrained.

Your best move now? Prioritize recovery. That means getting more sleep (yes, even beyond the usual seven to eight hours), sprinkling in a few active rest days, and tightening up your nutrition. For a short stretch, try eating slightly above maintenance to give your body the fuel it needs to repair, adding in research-backed pantry staples like honey that can give you the fuel you need to recover faster.

Honey has long been a go-to pre-workout energy boost thanks to its simple sugars, which your body quickly converts into fuel. But new research suggests it does more than energize—it can also help reduce inflammation after exercise by lowering biomarkers linked to muscle stress. (In case you needed another excuse to keep honey in your pantry, now you’ve got one.)

Related: Nutritional Scientist Reveals How Improving Your Gut Health Leads to Weight Loss

A recent study examined honey’s role in workout recovery and found that men who consumed it post-workout experienced lower levels of inflammation and muscle stress markers, including C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), aldolase A, and creatine kinase.

"This study demonstrates that honey supplementation significantly reduces inflammatory biomarkers...in military graduates experiencing overtraining, underscoring its potential to alleviate inflammation associated with intense physical training," the study authors said.

The researchers caution that more studies are needed, but they think honey’s benefits may come from its antioxidants and natural anti-inflammatory compounds. Flavonoids and phenolic acids in honey could help reduce oxidative stress, which in turn may help control inflammation. On top of that, the carbs in honey provide an extra energy boost that can aid muscle recovery.

From the Lab to the Finish Line: The IRONMAN Lessons Boosting a Molecular Biologist's Research

IRONMAN athletes are some of the most relentless competitors on the planet. Right up there with ultramarathons and HYROX races, these events push human endurance to its absolute limit. To complete an IRONMAN—a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.2-mile run—you need months of intense training, dialing in every nutrition detail and balancing swim, bike, and run workouts. And outside of training, competitors still need to carve out time for work, family, or any other responsibilities. Yibin King, a 51-year-old molecular biology professor at Princeton University, just crushed his second IRONMAN, and he knows better than anyone what it takes to juggle it all.

His secret to squeezing in training without sacrificing family time, research, or teaching? Rising before the sun. Though he once thrived as a night owl in grad school, when prepping for an IRONMAN, King hits the hay by 10 p.m. and sets his alarm for four a.m.

"You know, I can get a lot of training done," he says. "By five a.m., it's already daylight, and it's still cool, so I can do a lot of outdoor training, running, cycling, and swimming. I get all done and am still the first person to show up at work and can still spend time with family, so it works."

Related: How Ezra Frech’s Mission to Normalize Disability Is Changing the Face of Adaptive Athletics

He also learned plenty from his first IRONMAN, lessons he admits he wasn’t fully prepared for. Beyond keeping his training and life balanced, nutrition became a top priority. After long days in the lab following early-morning workouts, it’s easy to forget to eat. King found a simple solution: set phone alarms to remind himself to refuel, even when his mind is buried in research. The prep he’s done for both races is something he often compares to his work as a researcher.

"Research is a long process," he says. "There's a lot of iteration, trial, and failure. Optimization...eventually bringing things to perfection is the same mentality. It's a lot of practice runs of the gears, how to optimize each time, and then how to balance three different sports and other disciplines. Nutrition is another discipline of triathlon."

King admits that when he’s locked in prepping for a race, every other area of his life seems to fall into place. His meticulous approach to time, whether waking for early training sessions, grinding through long days in the lab, or coming home to his family, leaves no room for error. Every detail is planned, every moment accounted for.

And it’s not just him who’s inspired: His discipline and love for the sport have rubbed off on his family. His son, Evan, who was born with cerebral palsy, recently completed his first sprint triathlon, an achievement that brought King to the brink of tears. Watching his son embrace the challenge with the same determination he instills in himself has been one of his proudest moments.

Beyond the sun, the hat is made from a waterproof nylon, protecting from sudden summer sprinkles. Even in the wind, the Rosoz Sun Hat will stay in place thanks to a simple adjustable drawstring.

Denzel Washington Calls out Cowboys' Jerry Jones: ‘He’s Thinking About His Pockets’

Actor Denzel Washington has publicly expressed his fandom of the Dallas Cowboys on several occasions. This includes appearances at the team’s training camp back when the Cowboys were led by Tony Romo, Ezekiel Elliott and Dez Bryant.

However, training camp visits aside, while Washington may be one of the biggest names in Hollywood, when it comes to being a fan, he’s feeling very similar to many others watching the Cowboys from the outside looking in.

Washington joined ESPN's First Take on Tuesday, Aug. 13, and the longtime Cowboys fan in him came out full force while speaking about owner Jerry Jones.

After stating, "I don't like what Dallas is doing," he proceeded to call out Jones for not thinking about the fans, but instead thinking about his pockets.

"I know they're making a lot of money, and I’m happy for the owner, but the fans ain’t happy," Washington said.

"[Jerry Jones] is making it hard for me ... not to be a fan, because I’m still a Cowboy fan," he continued. "I’m still gonna have the star on the side of the hat. But he ain’t thinking about us, he’s thinking about his pockets."

Shortly after the initial comments, Washington followed that up by sending a blunt message to Jones.

"I love the Cowboys, I love the Cowboys. Because I really love them, this is why I feel the way I feel ... All money ain't good money, Jerry."

Cowboys Fans Pushed to the Limit With Frustration After Micah Parsons' Trade Request

Washington's comments directed at Jones come roughly two weeks after star pass-rusher Micah Parsons requested a trade due to frustrations and poor communication amid contract negotiations on a new deal.

Parsons' future in limbo has sent a frustrated fanbase to the breaking point of frustration after dealing with the constant drama that Jones has brought in recent years.

The front office-inflicted drama surrounding Parsons' contract negotiations isn't new, either. Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb dealt with talks regarding his own deal push throughout training camp and nearly into the season.

Along with Lamb last offseason, quarterback Dak Prescott's contract extension talks weren't finalized until hours before the Cowboys' Week 1 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Jones and the team's front office opting to wait that long was head-scratching, but the same can be said about how this offseason has transpired.

Delta Sends Warning to All Customers After Disappointing Decision

Delta Air Lines was dealt a pretty significant blow this week as the U.S. Department of Justice made a decision that seriously hinders one of its key partnerships. Now, the airline has issued a warning about what it will mean for its customers.

Over the years, Delta has had a long-standing alliance with Grupo Aeromexico, allowing the two carriers to coordinate flight planning and pricing.

However, that partnership is now under threat following a recent move by the U.S. Department of Justice.

DOJ Shuts Down Antitrust Immunity

In a filing made Monday, the DOJ determined that the two airlines should lose their antitrust immunity, claiming that the Mexican government has engaged in restrictive and potentially discriminatory practices that have stifled competition.

This development follows a warning issued last month by the U.S. Department of Transportation, which urged Mexico to address anticompetitive conduct, according to Bloomberg.

In its Monday filing, the Justice Department argued that actions by Mexico’s government “have limited entry and expansion by certain carriers” at Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport and "thereby undermined competitive conditions in Mexico, thwarting open market access on routes between Mexico and the United States."

Bloomberg also reported that the DOT believes Mexico has been in violation of a 2015 agreement since 2022 by taking slots away from U.S. airlines at Benito Juarez Airport and imposing restrictions on air cargo flights there.

Delta Pushes Back on the Decision

Following the decision, Delta issued a joint statement with Grupo Aeromexico saying it “would punish a US company and US consumers" and not the government of Mexico.

“Other, superior measures are available to remedy the situation with the GOM without harming the US economy; the Department should pursue those alternatives instead,” the airlines wrote in their joint statement.

Delta claimed in its joint statement that the alliance between the two airlines “fosters enhanced competition” with other U.S. and Mexican carriers.

Delta Issues a Warning to Customers

The decision from the DOJ marks a significant turning point for a partnership that dates back to 2011. Last month, Delta issued a pretty clear warning to its customers about what this change could mean for travel between the United States and Mexico.

"The U.S. Department of Transportation's tentative proposal to terminate its approval of the strategic and pro-competitive partnership between Delta and Aeromexico would cause significant harm to consumers traveling between the U.S. and Mexico, as well as U.S. jobs, communities, and transborder competition," Delta said in a statement last month via the Associated Press.

The U.S. claims that the alliance no longer “serves the public interest,” but Delta clearly disagrees.

Google Issues a Warning to All 1.8 Billion Users

Google has 1.8 billion Gmail users worldwide, and the company recently issued a major warning to all of those users about a "new wave of threats" to cybersecurity, given the advancements in artificial intelligence.

Earlier this summer, Google issued an important warning to all of its users about a new form of cybersecurity attack called "indirect prompt injections."

The new threat puts individuals, businesses, and even governments at risk.

A New Threat Emerges

In an extensive blog post recently, Google issued a warning to all of its users about a new threat: indirect prompt injections.

"With the rapid adoption of generative AI, a new wave of threats is emerging across the industry with the aim of manipulating the AI systems themselves. One such emerging attack vector is indirect prompt injections," Google wrote in its blog.

"Unlike direct prompt injections, where an attacker directly inputs malicious commands into a prompt, indirect prompt injections involve hidden malicious instructions within external data sources. These may include emails, documents, or calendar invites that instruct AI to exfiltrate user data or execute other rogue actions," the blog post continued.

The Google blog post warned that this puts individuals and entities at risk.

"As more governments, businesses, and individuals adopt generative AI to get more done, this subtle yet potentially potent attack becomes increasingly pertinent across the industry, demanding immediate attention and robust security measures," the blog post continued.

Expert Explains The Threat

During a recent interview with The Daily Record, tech expert Scott Polderman opened up a bit about the threat, explaining that a scam involves the use of another Google product, Gemini, an AI assistant known as a chatbot.

"So hackers have figured out a way to use Gemini - Google's own AI - against itself," Polderman told The Daily Record. "Essentially, hackers are sending an email with a hidden message to Gemini to reveal your passwords without you even realizing."

"These hidden instructions are getting AI to work against itself and have you reveal your login and password information," he continued.

Polderman explained why people are particularly susceptible to the threat.

"There is no link that you have to click [to activate the scam]," Polderman said. "It's Gemini popping up and letting you know you are at risk."

Google Rolls Out New Security Measures

The good news is that Google is already moving forward with some new security measures to help keep its users safe from these threats.

"Google has taken a layered security approach introducing security measures designed for each stage of the prompt lifecycle. From Gemini 2.5 model hardening, to purpose-built machine learning (ML) models detecting malicious instructions, to system-level safeguards, we are meaningfully elevating the difficulty, expense, and complexity faced by an attacker," Google wrote in its blog.

"This approach compels adversaries to resort to methods that are either more easily identified or demand greater resources."

First Rotten Tomatoes Reviews for 'Wednesday' Season 2 Say It's Better Than the First

The official verdict is in: Wednesday Season 2 has earned an 81% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, solidifying its place as a critical success and surpassing the original’s score.

Critics Agree: The Addams Family Is Stronger Together

The critics’ consensus on Rotten Tomatoes hits the mark: “Wednesday Season 2 smartly opens up to include more of the whole Addams clan, backing up Jenna Ortega’s lovably heartless teenager with an ookier and spookier ensemble.”

With 73 reviews contributing to its score, the show has clearly tapped into what made its first season a sensation—and then some.

What’s different this go-round? The addition of the wider family brings new dimensions to the story, features more ensemble dynamics, and enhances the gothic comedy that audiences initially craved.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Rotten Tomatoes (@rottentomatoes)

A Higher-Scoring Sequel

Season 1 of Wednesday famously soared to a 71% Certified Fresh score, which was a surprise for a Tim Burton-styled teen mystery that leaned heavily on its star power and stylized visuals. Season 2 leaps ahead, and critics suggest it feels more confident and cohesive than its predecessor, giving deeper context to the world and the characters.

What It Means for Fans

For those who binged through the first season, the news should come as encouragement: Season 2 brings more Addams, more dark humor, and a richer, more developed story. If you were on the fence, this is the green light to recline on the couch and dive back into Nevermore Academy.

One fan wrote, "I love this show. [It has] such funny and good humor, I can’t wait to see what happens."

"Epic show! So Pumped for season 2 part 2!" replied another.

Of course, not everyone agreed with critics. "The season thus far has kneecapped itself with way too many plot lines and sacrificing the Enid and Wednesdays relationship, which was the heart and soul of season one. Not excited for the second half," another viewer wrote.

Whether you're still obsessed with Ortega’s deadpan wit or came for the eccentric brilliance of the Addams family mythology, Season 2 is shaping up to be a horror-comedy reunion worth streaming.

AOL Is Pulling the Plug on This Iconic Service After Three Decades

AOL, a pioneer of the internet, announced it is eliminating the service that made it synonymous with the World Wide Web.

"AOL routinely evaluates its products and services and has decided to discontinue Dial-up Internet," a statement on the company’s website read. “This service will no longer be available in AOL plans. As a result, on September 30, 2025, this service and the associated software, the AOL Dialer software and AOL Shield browser, which are optimized for older operating systems and dial-up internet connections, will be discontinued.”

AOL – formerly known as America Online – was arguably the most recognized name in the tech world at its peak. The company, at one point, hosted tens of millions of Americans on their dial-up service.

Related: AMC Theatres Announces Major Change Affected All Moviegoers

By the mid-2000s, however, many households had switched to broadband internet. By 2015, when Verizon purchased AOL for $4.4 billion, only 2 million dial-up users remained.

The internet was shocked by the news of the end of dial-up, but not as shocked as the fact that the service still existed.

“Seriously though people are still on dial up?” one user wrote on X. “Wow ! I didn’t know still was going on,” another wrote. “The biggest surprise is that people are currently using it,” a third chimed in.

While it’s unclear how many AOL dial-up users remain (and will need to find a new service come Sept. 30), the nostalgia of the beep-boop-beeeeeep will live on.

So long as nobody is using the landline.
