Arch Manning Sets the Record Straight on NFL Draft
Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is probably the biggest and most prominent star in college football today, thanks to his five-star talent as well as his high-profile last name, which he shares with his legendary uncles Peyton and Eli.
While Manning has yet to even play in his first game as a full-time starting quarterback, everyone seems to already have an opinion on what he'll be doing next year. Some are already penciling in Manning as the top overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, while his grandfather, Archie Manning, is publicly insisting that the young star quarterback will be back at Texas next year.
Manning himself, however, doesn't have a lot to say on the matter.
Arch Manning Projected as Top Overall PickAs Arch Manning prepares for his first season as the starting quarterback for the Longhorns, one expert is already projecting that he will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
In his most recent mock draft, NFL insider Field Yates of ESPN projected that the Cleveland Browns would select Manning at the top of the upcoming draft.
"Manning has a very good build, throws with accuracy to all levels of the field and shows solid movement traits. He's a different QB than his uncles Peyton and Eli were in that he is a threat with his legs. He is inexperienced and needs to add more weight to his 6-foot-4 frame, but it's easy to see his immense ceiling," Yates wrote on ESPN.com. "I know the Browns just drafted two passers this year, but if they are picking first overall next year, then yes, they'll be taking a quarterback."
Archie Manning Says Arch Will Return to TexasWhile some might expect Manning to be the top quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft, the young star's grandfather, Archie Manning, does not think he will even be entering the NFL Draft following the season.
During an interview with Texas Monthly ahead of the 2025 college football season, Archie Manning said that while he hasn't spoken to Arch about it directly, he believes his grandson will return to Texas next season.
“Arch isn’t going to do that,” Archie Manning told Texas Monthly, referring to speculation that Arch could enter the NFL Draft. “He’ll be at Texas.”
Archie went on to throw a little bit of cold water on the hype his grandson has been receiving leading up to the season.
“People are saying he’s a Heisman candidate,” Archie added. “You’re not a Heisman Trophy candidate when you haven’t played but three games. It’s crazy.”
Arch Addresses His Grandfather's CommentsWhile Archie Manning seemed rather confident in his grandson's eventual decision, Arch made it pretty clear that he hadn't even given that decision any consideration.
During a press conference this week, Manning addressed his grandfather's comments, revealing that Archie had actually texted him to apologize.
"I don't know where he got that from," Arch Manning said in his first meeting with reporters since SEC media days in mid-July. "He texted me to apologize about that. I'm really just taking it day by day right now."
This is not the first time that Manning has addressed his potential NFL decision. At SEC Media Days back in July, Manning gave a similarly non-committal answer about his future.
"I’m really just worried about getting through this interview and then getting through the run tomorrow," Manning told reporters at the press conference. "I’m just focused on this year and getting better each day."
Clearly, Manning is not ready to discuss his NFL future just yet, even if others continue to speculate.
Archie Clarifies His CommentsWhile Arch says that his grandfather texted him to apologize for his comments, Archie also spoke to the media to clarify his words, too.
Speaking to ESPN, Archie made it clear that he didn't know what his grandson's decision would ultimately be, and his words were purely speculation.
"I thought that the thing that I said was that to name Arch to postseason awards and start placing him in the NFL draft was ridiculous when he hadn't played," Archie Manning told ESPN. "But then, of course, then the fact I said that he might be at Texas, that's just an assumption on my part.
"Arch and I have a really good grandson-grandfather relationship, but I haven't been part of this football journey."
Manning will likely have a decision to make following the 2026 season, but it's clear that the decision has not been made yet.
Delta Asks Customers to Make Major Company Decision
Delta Air Lines is adding a new direct flight to Europe – but the company isn't the one making the final decision on which route it will add. Instead, the airline is asking its most loyal customers.
Next summer, Delta is planning to add nonstop service to a southern European island where no United States airline currently flies. However, it is leaving the decision as to which one to its SkyMiles members, as Delta is allowing its loyal members to choose between two island destinations.
Whichever route Delta adds, it will be a notable route for those looking to vacation in the Mediterranean next summer. But it's up to the customers to decide.
Delta Explains the MoveGenerally, a lot of thought, planning and logistics goes into adding a new route. While that has undboutedly been the case once again with Delta narrowing the decision to three destinations, the company values the voice of its community.
“SkyMiles Members and Delta people are at the center of everything Delta does. The Route Race is a celebration of their influence, giving our community a voice in where they want to fly next and inviting them to help shape Delta’s global network,” said Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning, in a news release.
“The destinations where Delta flies are more than just dots on a map – they’re gateways to culture, connection and possibility, and this is a chance for our Members and employees to bring one of them closer.”
At the end of the day, its the customers who will be flying the route, so it would make sense that the customers make the decision.
The Three ChoicesDelta is giving is allowing its SkyMiles members to vote between three potential destinations: Sardinia, Malta, and Ibiza. The airline also provided a brief explanation of each island destination to help its customers make the decision.
Here are Delta's descriptions of each Mediterranean island:
Sardinia, Italy: For customers who love a slower pace but still want adventure, Sardinia is the ultimate mix. Days here can start with a hike along rugged cliffs, move to a hidden swim, and end with fresh pasta and local wine in a seaside village. It’s a place where natural beauty, history, and food all share the spotlight.Malta: Perfect for customers who want their trip to feel like a story, Malta blends centuries of history with sunny Mediterranean charm. One day you might wander ancient fortresses or UNESCO-listed streets, the next you’re on a boat headed for turquoise bays. It’s a destination for those who want culture, scenery, and relaxation all in one place.Ibiza, Spain: For customers who love a destination that comes alive after dark, Ibiza is a global capital of nightlife with world-famous DJs, beach parties, and sunset-to-sunrise energy. But the island also knows how to slow things down with hidden coves, laid-back beach bars, and day trips to nearby Formentera for a quieter balance. It’s perfect for those who want their trip to be equal parts relaxation and revelry. Each destination is beautiful and unique in its own way, so there is no wrong decision.
How it WorksThe voting will begin on Aug. 25 and will run until Aug. 29. SkyMiles Members can log onto the app and cast their vote for the destination of their choice by navigating to the "Explore" and "Trip" pages within the app. From there, Delta member will login with their SkyMiles login information and cast their vote.
Though the voting will close after Aug. 29, the final results of the vote will be announced about 30 days after voting closes.
We'll have to see which destination comes out on top.
Man Charged With Hitting Wolf With Snowmobile, Bringing It to Local Bar
A Wyoming man was hit with a felony charge after allegedly hitting a wolf with his snowmobile. But it's what he did after that has him facing up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Cody Roberts is accused of striking a wild wolf while riding his snowmobile outside of Jackson, Wyoming, in February 2024. He then allegedly proceeded to tape the animal's mouth shut and transport the wounded wolf to a local bar, where he showed it off before killing it.
Roberts was ordered to pay a $250 fine for illegal possession of wildlife following the incident. However, after calls for a boycott of Wyoming tourism, a 12-person grand jury found enough evidence to support the felony charge for animal cruelty, according to Sublette County Attorney Clayton Melinkovich.
“While many of the animal abuse provisions do not apply to the hunting, capture, killing, or destruction of a predatory animal, there are narrow circumstances where a person could be charged and convicted of animal abuse,” Melinkovich previoulys said after Roberts was hit with a small fine.
According to Section 6-3-1005 of the criminal code, a person could face felony animal cruelty charges in Wyoming if he or she "knowingly, and with intent to cause death or undue suffering, beats with cruelty, tortures, torments or mutilates an animal."
If convicted, Roberts faces up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Photos and video evidence show Roberts posing with the wild animal, as red tape is wrapped tightly around his nose and mouth.
"State wildlife officials also said animal cruelty laws don’t apply to animals the state considers predators, including wolves, which receive that designation everywhere but the northwest corner of the state, where they’re regulated as big game," Wyoming News reported. The outlet explained that Governor Mark Gordon signed a new law earlier this year, making the torment of all wildlife a felony.
Wolves are listed as a federally endangered species across the United States, with three exceptions. In Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, it is legal to hunt and trap wild wolves.

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Why We Love This DealWith so many Bluetooth speakers to choose from, it can be hard to know what to get and which brand to go with. Sonos is undoubtedly one of the best when it comes to audio gear, and one of the brand’s speakers is $100 off on Amazon right now.
If you take advantage of this limited-time deal on Amazon, you can get the $450 Sonos Move 2 Speaker for $350. At the time of writing, both the black and white color options are on sale, and over a thousand happy customers have bought one over the last month.
Sonos Move 2 Speaker, $350 (was $450) at Amazon
The Sonos Move 2 is one of the best premium (and still portable) Bluetooth speakers on the market, offering up to 24 hours of listening time on a single charge. The precision-tuned woofer and updated tweeter give you deep bass and crisp highs, and the automatic Trueplay tuning feature can adjust the volume depending on your surroundings. It’s certifiably rugged as well, with a drop-resistant design and IP56 protection to protect the speaker from splashes and dust. For convenience, the speaker has a built-in carrying handle, touch controls, a built-in mic (for calls and voice assistance), and it comes with a wireless charging base that has a detachable cord.
What Shoppers are SayingThe high-quality design means you’re getting everything you want out of a Bluetooth speaker, confirmed by one shopper who wrote, “I've gone through more portable speakers than I'd like to admit. Most of them sound good but fall short on battery, or last forever but have flat sound. The Move 2 is the first to check both boxes and still looks good.”
The same reviewer continued: “The thing that surprised me the most was the sound. It really feels like a stereo setup right in a little box. The vocals are crisp, the bass is deep without being muddy, and it easily fills the room without distortion. I've tested it with everything from acoustic to hip hop to podcasts, and it handles them all well. At all volumes, it still sounds full and rich, which is rare for portable speakers. Battery life lives up to the hype. I used it all day outside and still had a charge left.”
If you’re loyal to other audio brands, you’ll be glad to hear that Sonos lives up to the hype: “I've been a loyal Bose user for years, but on a friend's recommendation, I decided to try the Sonos Move 2—and I was genuinely blown away. The sound quality is outstanding at both low and high volumes, with exceptionally deep bass. It easily rivals wired speakers, which is impressive for a portable option.”
Take the party to go with the Sonos Move 2 Speaker for $350 on Amazon. Limited-time deals like this don’t last very long, so if this caught your eye, now’s the time to get it.

The superheroes are dancing again! Just like in 2022, when Peacemaker Season 1 featured an opening credits sequence in which the cast engaged in hilarious choreography to the d Wig Wam song "Do Ya Wanna Taste It," Season 2's opening number is even goofier and, arguably, more epic.
But do you recognize that catchy, cathartic earworm? If you were listening to indie rock that was tinged with a touch of glam back in 2010, this song, "Oh Lord," is one you might remember. Here's what to know about the new Peacemaker Season 2 opening song, and why that dance number is even funnier than it was three years ago.
What is the Peacemaker Season 2 opening song? The song that opens every episode of Peacemaker Season 2 is "Oh Lord" by the band Foxy Shazam. This song was released in 2010 and featured on Foxy Shazam's third album, which was self-titled. The song was released in March 2010 as a single, with the album coming out one month later in April 2010.
View the original article to see embedded media.
For the themes of Peacemaker Season 2, "Oh Lord" is the perfect track. The Peacemaker himself has, as the song says, "had some rough f*cking years," and everyone in the show is trying to "keep on keeping on."
"There was another Foxy song I considered, but at the end of the day I thought this, 'Oh Lord,' fit the season the best," showrunner James Gunn said in a roundtable interview attendedby Men's Journal ahead of the launch of the season.
How Peacemaker Season 2's opening dance number is different from Season 1Because Season 2 features a ton of new characters, including roles for Tim Meadows and Sol Rodríguez, there are a ton of people in this opening dance number.

In the same roundtable, Gunn has also noted that Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr. is also new to the dance number, which means that "we have more bad dancers this season."

Spirit Airlines Made a Mistake Amid Bankruptcy
Last year, Spirit Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection, but quickly made it clear that it did not intend to make sweeping changes that would be felt by its customers, employees or creditors. Just a few months later, it seems like that decision was ill-advised.
Last week. Spirit Airlines issued a pretty ominous warning when it filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stating that "there is substantial doubt" about its future, indicating that its status has not really improved since filing for bankruptcy last year.
However, it sounds like this all could have been avoided if the airline hadn't made a significant mistake in its strategy.
Spirit Chose a 'Surgical' ApproachDuring the first day of its bankruptcy trial back in November, Spirit Airlines lawyer Marshall Huebner claimed that nothing would change for “99.9%” of its customers, employees, and creditors.
Huebner explained that the company only filed for bankruptcy in order to implement a deal with a small number of bondholders who had agreed to swap their debt for stock, allowing the airline to avoid the usual headaches that come along with bankruptcy.
“And so I do want to stress at the very outset the extraordinarily surgical nature of what we intend to do here,” Huebner told US Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane during a hearing in New York, according to Bloomberg.
The Strategy Did Not WorkIn hindsight, it seems like Spirit Airlines should have been a little less "surgical" in its approach.
Last week, Spirit filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stating that "there is substantial doubt" about its future.
“Because of the uncertainty of successfully completing the initiatives to comply with the minimum liquidity covenants and of the outcome of discussions with Company stakeholders, management has concluded there is substantial doubt as to the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern within 12 months from the date these financial statements are issued,” the company said.
While the company's CEO offered a bit of an explanation a day later, it's pretty clear that the company's situation has not greatly improved since its bankruptcy filing last year.
Spirit Made a Major MistakeWhile Spirit Airlines may have attempted to solve its financial woes without making drastic changes, it seems like that was ultimately a mistake.
“Spirit didn’t use all the tools available under Chapter 11 to fix the business,” said bankruptcy attorney Brett Miller, who represented the official committee of unsecured creditors, during the restructuring case, via Bloomberg. “There were no negotiations with vendors, labor or aircraft lessors, which typically occur as part of the go forward business-plan process.”
Now, it looks like Spirit Airlines might have to resort to some of those more drastic measures. However, the situation has now become more dire.
These Protein Shake Muffins Are Going Viral (Again). I Put Them to the Test
While there’s no shortage of new food and drink trends making the rounds on social media, one interesting new combination provides a protein-powered punch. Whether you’re looking to start the day off with some added protein to your breakfast or want to boost your post-workout snack, the trending TikTok protein shake muffins are a great option.
Admittedly, it was my wife who found the idea and decided to put the new protein-fueled muffins to the test. While she went with the chocolate chip muffin mix and a Fairlife Core Power vanilla protein shake, you can essentially make the muffins with whatever muffin mix/flavor combo you prefer.
The Protein Shake Muffins Taste Great & Give You Options@lindsay_oaWill report back when I can taste cause I am currently sick & so stuffy. 🫠 but these were so easy and high protein!!! #proteinmuffins #proteinrecipe #proteinrecipes #kodiak #kodiakmuffins #kodiakcakes #fairlifeprotein #fairlife #chocolatechipmuffins #proteinchocolate #protein #muffins @KodiakCakes @fairlife

Above is a look at one of the many different approaches creators took while making the protein-packed muffins, and it’s similar to the one I tried. To go along with the chocolate chip muffin mix, using the vanilla Fairlife protein shake made it taste like, well, a normal, delicious chocolate chip muffin.
And that’s great news for anyone who isn’t in love with drinking a protein shake after wrapping up a workout. Or better yet, anyone who wants to add something new and fresh to the mix.
While variations of this recipe have been going around TikTok and social media dating back to late 2023, it resurfaced again in a big way of late. I’ve come across different content creators who have applied their own twists and unique approaches to the muffins. Most importantly, I’ve seen many people try unique combinations, such as a strawberry shortcake muffin mix with a strawberry protein shake.
Grading the Protein-Packed Muffins
Smith Collection/Gado/Getty Images
Anything less than an ‘A’ feels disrespectful to the combination I tried. Along with the chocolate chip muffin mix and vanilla protein shake, my wife plans to do a cinnamon sugar muffin mix with a vanilla protein shake, and it’s hard to envision that being anything short of delicious as well.
It’s obviously worth noting that the amount of protein that’s in each muffin will vary depending on how much of the shake you add in. If you use a whole protein shake, or if you use the Fairlife Core Power Elite (42g of protein vs. 26g), there’s going to be a difference in taste.
That said, using vanilla was a safe bet if you want to lower the chances of an overwhelming flavor burst, but it primarily just comes down to what you prefer and a bit of trial and error. Find what you like through experiment and ride the wave, but the protein-fueled muffins are a big win and worth giving a try.
Home Depot Changes its Mind on Prices Amid Tariffs
When the sweeping import tariffs were first announced by the Donald Trump presidential administration earlier this year, Home Depot initially indicated that it would not look to raise its prices. However, it sounds like those plans have changed.
At the time, Home Depot hoped that its ability to diversify its sources would help mitigate the effects of the tariffs. While that strategy may have worked for a few months, it sounds like it's no longer viable.
On Tuesday, the company officially changed its position, announcing that it will indeed be raising prices on some products.
Home Depot Did Not Expect to Raise PricesJust three months ago, Home Depot Executive Vice President of Merchandising Billy Bastek seemed to indicate that the company would not have to raise its prices because the company had spent years diversifying the sources for the goods on its shelves.
Bastek indicated that instead of raising prices on its goods, the company would simply stop carrying some products that might be impacted by tariffs.
“We don’t see broad based price increases for our customers at all going forward,” Bastek said last month, via CNN. “There are items that we have that could potentially be impacted from a tariff that, candidly, we won’t have going forward.”
Bastek said at the time that the company did not expect any single country outside of the United States to represent more than 10% of its purchases 12 months from then, allowing it a little protection from the impacts of the tariffs.
Things Have ChangedWhile Home Depot may have felt confident in that decision at the time, things have changed, and the company will indeed be increasing its prices on some products, after all.
In a recent interview, Home Depot Chief Financial Officer Richard McPhail said the company would have to implement some price increases, considering some of the tariffs are "significantly higher" now than they were when they were announced back in May.
“For some imported goods, tariff rates are significantly higher today than they were at this time last quarter,” he said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. “So as you would expect, there will be modest price movement in some categories, but it won’t be broad based.”
People Are Delaying Large ProjectsHome Depot has also experienced a slowdown in net income, believing that consumers are delaying major home renovations and projects as a result of economic uncertainty and high interest rates.
“Certainly some relief on mortgage rates in particular could help,” CEO Ted Deckersaid on an earnings call this week via CNN. “When we talk to our customers… both consumers and pros, the number one reason for deferring the large project is general economic uncertainty. That is larger than prices of projects, of labor availability. By a wide margin, economic uncertainty is number one.”
That could also play a role in the company's decision to raise prices, but he expects those regular home renovations will come back eventually.
“Our customers tell us the rate environment is giving them pause on larger remodeling projects,” McPhail said. “Our pros… say that their customers tell them they’re deferring projects. They’re not canceling projects. Home improvement demand persists. And so our job is to position ourselves to be ready for that.”
The 3 Things To Watch Before 'Peacemaker' Season 2
The man who will kill for peace is back. In Peacemaker Season 2, the wayward DC Universe TV series puts John Cena's titular assassin back in the spotlight. But, because it's been a full three years since Peacemaker Season 1, what should one even expect of Chris Smith and his allies? Do you need to re-binge all of Peacemaker Season 1? Is there anything else you need to remember?
The short answer is: Peacemaker Season 2 refreshingly doesn't require a ton of homework. Having said that, there are three things you might want to consider rewatching as you get into Peacemaker Season 2. No spoilers ahead.
Peacemaker Season 1 Finale, "It's Cow or Never" (2022)Although Peacemaker Season 2 subtly changes some aspects of Season 1, nearly everything that happens in Season 2 relies on the ending of Season 1. How the relationship between Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and Peacemaker (Cena) ended in Season 1 is crucial to understanding Season 2. Plus, it's good to remember that Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) has a complicated relationship with her mother, Amanda Waller.
The Suicide Squad (2021)John Cena's version of Chris Smith/The Peacemaker originates in the 2021 DC movie The Suicide Squad, and oddly enough, very specific moments in that movie matter a lot in Season 2. While Season 1 was a bit more standalone and separate from The Suicide Squad, Season 2 touches on certain events from that movie in a big way, including one death that drives nearly half the plot.
Superman (2025)Against all odds, despite beginning its life in an entirely different DC canon, Peacemaker Season 2 is the next installment in the current DCU lineup. The new show takes place just one month after the events of Superman. Director of Superman and creator of the Peacemaker show, James Gunn, has made it clear that these details matter. In fact, certain details from Superman will be extremely important to understanding the overall arc of Peacemaker.
Peacemaker Season 2 drops its first episode on Thursday, August 21, on HBO Max at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.Men's Journal's Blog
