Things money cannot buy
Money is important in this modern world and many would not hesitate to do unscrupulous things for it, including scamming and cheating for it.
But as important as it is, there are things money can’t buy. This is an example of things that money can’t buy.
Chicken changs and Nyonya changs. This is one thing that money cannot buy. Sure, you say that these changs can be bought from restraurants and food stalls, but these are not from any restaurants or foodstalls. No, no, no. They are definitely not from any restaurants of specialty food store.
Smallkucing and Mamarazzi made these especially for me, and they are definitely not selling these anywhere outside. These are their token of friendship, and not something that can be bought.
Ever since I got to know Smallkucing and Mamarazzi, they never failed to give me these during Dragon Boat Festival season, and I think…not everyone is as blessed to receive these.
Thank you, Smallkucing and Mamarazzi, for keeping me in your thoughts always. I certainly enjoyed your changs that’s made with love, and filled with generous fillings.
Cleffairy: No matter how much money you have, there’s still things that you can never buy.

Skin Formulation amazing skincare series
Are you a vain person? I thought I am not a vain person until one fine day, I looked into the mirror and saw how tired and weary I looked liked. You see…as a mother to one hyperactive boy, I hardly have the time to pamper myself, what more sit in front of the vanity mirror and paint my face. I’m always rushing here and there, doing things that full-time mothers usually do, and the only ‘make-up’ that I allow myself is to put some sunscreen on.
But I come to realize that it’s not really good, and I need to take good care of myself properly, otherwise I’ll age before time, and now that my boy is older and I somewhat learned to delegate my chores, I thought it’ll be a good idea if I start taking good care of my appearance again.
And so, when I was given an opportunity to review a range of amazing products from Goalife known as Skin Formulation, I got really excited. Remember my previous post on attending an event where I was given a goodie bag containing a range of product that’s suitable for my skin type to try? Well, I tried their products, and I have to say that I’m amazed by the fact that there’s visible result within just one week.
First of all, there’s this:
Removing cleansing gel. I got to say that i love this product. Very good for those who are always in a hurry. This is a 2 in1 gel type cleanser with dual-usage; which is a make up remover and cleanser. You can use this as a make-up remover. Highly effective in removing mascara, kohl/kajal, eye make-up and whatnot without dehydrating the skin. I have dry skin, so using this as a cleanser is really nice as the skin does not dry up after usage.
The second product in the basic skincare range that was given to me to try was Normalizing Lotion. Normalizing Lotion gives suppleness and hydration to the skin with variety of moisturizing ingredients. Normalizing lotion also allows the skin to absorb moist into the deeper layer of the skin due its small particles, restoring water balance throughout the day. This product works well with all skin type.
My skin is terribly dry, and therefore, the beauty consultant suggested that I try their Hydro Aqua Essence. It is some sort of serum that deeply penetrates the skin to hydrate it from within. I was amazed that the result was instant, and my skin feels refreshed within seconds after using this.
Another great product from Skin Formulation; Glossy Shine Sleeping mask. Very good for those who wants to rejuvenate their skin and repair those fine lines while they are sleeping. And like other products in their skincare range, this product helps me a lot too. My skin feels more smooth, supple and hydrated once I woke up from my sleep, unlike before where it feel all dry up when I woke up from my sleep. if you are a busy woman and have no time to pamper yourself during the day, this product will definitely help you to rejuvenate and repair your skin while you’re sleeping.
As I mentioned earlier, I am a busy woman, always rushing here and there, and barely having a breather everyday, and so, I don’t really make it a point to use a facial mask. I find it rather troublesome, and have no instant result, but after trying Skin Formulation’s FGF-7 PDGF Repairing Mask, I think I ought to reconsider my negligent habit. Repairing mask such as this one really does make a lot of difference to neglected skin like mine. The result was instant, and guess what? Some acne scars and fine lines were erased after one time usage, and my skin became translucent and rosy after using it. It’s really amazing, and I bet if I were to continue to use this mask on regular basis, I’ll look 10 years younger within weeks! Highly recommended to those who wants to reduce fine lines, get rid of acne scars, etc.

Among all of Skin Formulation products that were given to me to try, I LOVE this one the most. Perfect Glow Sunscreen is absolutely amazing, and it works better than the suncreen that I used to use before I get my hands on this one.Unline my previous sunscreen that gives only a maximum of 12 hours protection, Skin Formulation’s Perfect Glow Sunscreen gives protection to the skin for 24 hours, reflecting ultraviolet light away from skin. Perfect Glow Sunscreen is used as physical sunscreen and is sweat proof, which is great for people like me who is always on the go, rushing here and there. It is also waterproof, and if you’re like me, you’d find that it’s also suitable to be used while you’re swimming. But I don’t recommend it to be used while you’re swimming as this is for face only. You might want to use regular sports sunblock for that purpose.
Perfect Glow Sunscreen also well as a concealer and when I use it, it gives me nude makeup look as it goes according to the skin colour, which is great, because the sunscreen coverage does not look unnatural and thick. Great if you want to take photos during the day. This sunscreen also moisturizes the skin well, which is really great for those who have sensitive skin or dry skin type. In other words, this sunscreen function like your regular BB Cream.
Skin Formulation Products is really amazing, and if you’re a busy woman like me, you’d want to try their product as it’s hassle-free to use and the result is almost instant. I highly recommend it to all ladies who wants to look fresh and younger than their age.
Interested in their products? Go ahead and check them out HERE, and should you have any questions about their products, please do not hesitate to ask their beauty consultant. They are very friendly and always ready to help.
Cleffairy: I’ve been neglecting my appearance for years now. It’s time to take good care of my body again so that it can take care of me.

Low GL growing up milk
How many times you shop for your groceries every month? I do it once a week, and I find it quite a feat these days as the price of things are pointing to the sky and have no signs of going down anytime soon. It’s pretty hard to keep my expenditures strictly to the budget these days.
Last Friday, I went for my grocery shopping routine again. When I passed by the milk powder aisles, I got rather confused.
Why confused? Well, plenty of growing up milk powder now has this label “No sugar”, “Sugar-free” or “No-added sugar”, ”No Sucrose”, “Reduced sugar” on the packaging. If I were to be honest with you, I could say that most of the growing up tins have these labels. I wonder how true is their claims? As far as I’m concerned, there is only one brand in particular that is proven to really have no added sugars in it’s formula.
Mamil Gold (claims that they have no sucrose)
S-26 (claims no sucrose in their milk)
I noticed that the brand Mamil Gold says that their milk has “no sucrose”, Ductch Lady “reduced sugar”, while S26 Gold, Nan and Snow “no sucrose” and “no added sugar” respectively.
Those “No sugar”, “Sugar-free” or “No-added sugar”, “No Sucrose”, “Reduced sugar” is somewhat misleading concerned parents out there, I must say. I’ve read in the newspaper Harian Metro and the Health Today magazine not long ago that recent research studies has called in to question some of these claims.
The truth is, these claims made by some milk companies only focus on single type of added sugar in the milk formula. If they’re to make a claim that their milk really has no added sugars, they need to exclude glucose syrup solids, corn syrup solids, dextrin and maltodextrin from their ingredients. This is because these ingredients are actually added sugars too. They are in fact, scientific names for added sugar.
According to studies and scientific research, growing up milk powder in Malaysia has too much added sugar in it. Why do I say this? Well, elementary my dear readers. Most growing up milk has a high GL level.
So you know what ‘GL’ is? Have no idea? Well, GL is an abbreviation for Glycemic Load, and it is the unit used to measure the changes of sugar level in the bloodstream of a child after drinking a glass of growing up milk. A high GL means the milk has a lot of added sugars, which causes the sugar levels in the bloodstream to rise too high and too fast. A low GL means the milk has low or zero added sugars, so the sugar levels in the bloodstream stay in a healthier balance.
So far, there is only one brand of growing up milk in the market that has a low GL. The rest, despite of their claims on “no sucrose”, “no added sugar”, “reduced sugar” on their packaging and labels, still have high GL levels. This could only mean one thing; these brands are misleading the parents and the consumers with their claims.
I’m sure most of the parents out there are aware that food experts, paediatricians and child nutritionists do not encourage children to take food that is too sweet or has too many added sugars in it as it could bring serious health implications like diabetes, obesity, hyperactivity as well as dental cavities. So if you’re really concerned about the added sugars in your child’s growing up milk, you should check the labels carefully and do not let your children consume growing up milks with high added sugars, period!
Remember there is only one brand with a low GL. What is this brand? Anmum Essential of course! I would strongly suggest that you go for this brand instead of blindly believing the claims made by other milk companies.
I know it’s always confusing to read and decipher the ingredients in your children’s growing up milk and to determine whether or not the milk powder contains added sugars or not, but do keep it in mind that as long as the label contains these words: glucose syrup solids, corn syrup solids, dextrin or maltodextrin, then it does contain added sugars.
Cleffairy: Take a look HERE and HERE if you’re interested about this issue and wants to find out more about added sugars in your children’s growing up milk powder

Daily food delivery?
Cooking is quite a feat for me these days. I don’t feel as if I’m enjoying the process anymore. The price of groceries is simply too high these days and I find that it’s really hard to stick to the budget each time I shop for groceries. It’s really depressing to plan a few meals a day when you have a tight budget to consider.
Each time I shop, the total amount spent is usually more than RM200 and the stuff bought can only last for a week or so, and it will have to be resticked before I know it. The worst part is that I still have to make an effort to spend time in the kitchen for daily meals after all the troubles going to the groceries and whatnot.
That is just pathetic in my opinion. Not enjoyable at all.
Counting the terrible monthly expenditures for the groceries alone, it is much cheaper and convenient to just dine out in food courts and whatnot. But then again, dining out consumes alot of time. And I just hate going out to crowded food courts daily.
Right at the moment, I’m seriously considering daily food delivery service where I can subscribe to their service and have balanced dishes delivered to my doorstep on weekdays. It would be a much better alternative, don’t you think? Considering that you only need to pay Rm200 max per month for the dishes you ordered daily (usually for lunch or dinner) . That would be much cheaper than cooking myself everyday. My weekly grocery bills is much more expensive than catered food, mind you.
I’ve discussed with my husband about it and he agreed that subscribing to such service would not only enable us to save more money and allow us to eat a more balanced meal, but I will also be able to spend my time doing things that matters more like tutoring the boy, studying, write my novels and perhaps go for a daily swim in the evening when I feel life it.
We have come to an agreement that I will cook only for breakfasts and on weekends where everyone can sit down and really take time to eat together instead of rushing around to meet our schedules. We both agreed that subscribing to a daily home delivery caterer will gives us more time, and it’s much friendlier on the pocket.
My only problem here now is that I need recommendations on daily food delivery service. I am living in Kuala Lumpur and caterers that could deliver food to Setapak/Wangsa Maju/Gombak area is preferable.
If you have any recommendations for me, please do not hesitate to leave your recommendations in the comment section below.
Cleffairy: Cooking is quite a luxury these days. Do you feel the same way too?

All pumped up?
Hello, ladies and gentleman. This is just a short post to tell you that I am still alive. Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been really tied up…you know…it was school holiday and I since made a point to spend more time with my family and finishing up my projects instead of lurking online, I don’t really make an effort to write any blog posts or blog hop around. I’m very sorry for the lack of visiting and commenting. I hope you guys understand.
Anyway, school holiday is over. Things will be back to normal again, and I can predict that things will be busier and busier with each passing day. And I suppose, it will be the same with every parents with schooling children in Malaysia too. Things will be hectic once again, and I can only hope that I won’t drop dead because of it.
Cleffairy: Parents, are you all pumped up for the crazy school term up ahead? I’m not sure if I’m all pumped up.

Skincare demonstration with Skin Formulation

I was invited for an exclusive and intimate skincare product demonstration with Skin Formation last Sunday. There’s a few more bloggers over there, and I was pleasantly surprised that most of them told me that I look familiar even though I couldn’t really remember any of them except for my blogger friend, Wendy. They said they have met me in a blogger event or two somewhere. I think I’m becoming more and more notorious with each passing day that they could have say that when they saw me.
Anyway, as I said, I was there in Skin Formation’s HQ for their product demonstration, and we were introduced to a wide range of skincare product.
Here’s Wendy. She volunteered to be the model of the day.
The kind folks in Skincare Formulation removing her make-up so that they could demonstrate the effectiveness of their skincare products.
Wendy, looking fresh after the facelift massage.
Each of us bloggers were given a goodie bag that contains a whole lot Skin Formulation product that has been customized specially for our skin type. Wanna know what I got and if their skincare product is effective? Well, stay tune, I’ll be reviewing the products that has been customised for me in a week or two after using them.
In the meantime, do check out www.goalife.com for more information on Skin Formulation wide range of skincare products.
Cleffairy: Let’s see if Skin Formulation products can ‘photoshop’ me a little bit.
I sure need some ‘photoshop’.

Applying the law of attraction
There is a reason why I stopped associating with cynical, chauvinistic people who have serious inferiority complex issue, and surround myself only with people who emits positive energy and is supportive of me, regardless of what I do.
You see, there is one very important step that is often overlooked by most people who are working hard to apply the law of attraction. That step requires that you surround yourself with the sort of people who already have what you are trying to manifest in your life.
Have you ever heard stories or witness people who change dramatically because of the new crowd they were associating with? Perhaps you have noticed yourself developing certain habits after having the company of certain friends. We become like the people we surround ourselves with.
I knew a man who was working tirelessly to create financial freedom in his life. He worked diligently with the law of attraction in keeping his thoughts clear and positive as well as to maintain a deep focus on his goals. Each day he was able to see great success until one day he came in contact with some friend.
Within a few short weeks he realized that his newfound joy and personal power began to head south and he was feeling very discouraged and depressed about life. All his business ventures began to suffer and it seemed every thing around him was about to crash.
After taking sometime to reflect on what had suddenly gone wildly wrong with his life he realize the source of his failing business and personal life. His new friend, although a source of fun was a complete pessimist. Every single time they’re in touch, his friend complained excessively about everything and doubted everything which seemed to be good. He complained about the economy and he complained about politic, he complain about religion and just about everything he can complain about.
These conversations began to creep slowly into the mind of the first man and slowly his outlook became tainted by the dim view of reality that his friend was drilling into his head. Although he tried to maintain a brighter outlook, his own thoughts were in conflict with the thoughts that his friend was presenting to him.
With law of attraction you manifest what you speak about or focus on with great passion. Often times people do not realize how much time they give to listening to others whose outlook is quite dismal and just how much those dismal thoughts do influence your ability to successfully apply the law of attraction to your success.
.
Cleffairy: Don’t surround yourselves with people who does nothing but push you down, ladies and gentlemen. Surround yourselves with people who will lift you higher emotionally and spiritually. It will make a huge difference in your life, and it will inspire you to move forward.

Territorial
Are you a territorial person? I think I am, especially where my kitchen is concerned. I absolutely hate it when people touches my things in the kitchen and rearrange the things according to their own liking. I feel as if my rights as the mistress of the kitchen have been violated whenever other people go into my kitchen and do as they pleased.
I get extremely annoyed whenever I couldn’t find things in the kitchen because other people thought it would be better for them to place one thing and another here and there according to their own liking and their own convenience.
What is wrong with some people? I always hate it when a person came visiting and they thought it is all right for them to restructure the entire kitchen system! It is disrespectful for a person to go into another person’s house, and do as they please as if they owned the house!
You may say that this is a small matter that can be tolerated and overlooked, but to me, invading someone’s house and especially the kitchen is a form of invasion of privacy.
Have you ever experience someone coming to your house and do as they please with it? You know, nosy relatives who thought they are better at managing things in the kitchen and whatnot? I hate it when they do that. It made me feel as if I’m not good at managing my household and it made feel as if I’m being judged instead of getting extra help from them.
Cleffairy: Sometimes, I really don’t mind my husband not cooking. Spares me the misery of locating missing or misplaced kitchen utensils.

Digital lifestyle
My life is pretty much digitalized these days. I’m pretty much dependant on my computer and laptop to get my work done and my life coordinated. And it gets much more worst when I bought my smartphone. I got really hooked to it to the point that I practically used it for everything, including writing a novel by using the smartphone.
Yes, all of these gadgets makes my life easier, but being dependant on them is really no good. Not when they tend to break down due to software or hardware malfunction every now and then, and I’m left gasping and struggling to deal with getting connected. You see, I’m not a technician, and I have no idea how to troubleshoot all of these gadgets on my own. Sure, I can ask my husband to troubleshoot all of my gadgets for me, but then again, he’s not always around to fix all the problems that I’m having.
I have to seek other professional means of gadgets troubleshooting that is not only reliable, but efficient and cost saving too.
While I was browsing around for a good tech support option, I stumbled upon a website that provides troubleshooting for all of the gadgets that I owned. It’s called Virgin Digital Help, and it provides 24 hours remote access tech support.
If you’re using Windows as your computer and laptop’s operating system, you’d find their service really helpful as they not only fix computer crashes and boot-up problems but also remove viruses and spyware that can be harmful to your data storage from your computer via remote access.
I suppose, I can consider looking up their service whenever my laptop, computer or my smartphone failed me. I can’t afford expensive all-inclusive IT solution, but since Digital Help provide free consultation and diagnose your issues for free through their 24 hours customer’s service live chat and only charge per fix, I think I can consider hooking up with their service when I have any technical issues that need to be fixed.
Digital lifestyle will not be a problem for me anymore with Virgin Digital Help, and if you’re having any technical issues that makes you really mad and annoyed, perhaps you can look them up too.
