Introducing Ricoh Laser Printers
Do you print things, dear readers? I don’t know if you do print out for your documents or not, but I certainly do. I print out quite a lot of things, including soft copies of my novel manuscripts, my students’ exercise sheets, my assignments, promo vouchers and coupons and many more. (Yes, yes, I do print out the softcopy of my novel manuscripts before my publishers does. I’m vain, deal with it.
And yes, I do print out those freebies coupons on vouchers. I can’t help it. They are irresistible!)
It’s really hard for me to get a good printer that lasts really long, so I was really glad that I was recently introduced to one of the leading printer brand in Malaysia, Ricoh.
Ricoh is one of the world’s leading suppliers of office automation equipment, including copiers, facsimile machines, data processing systems, and related supplies. Ricoh is also renowned for its state-of-the-art electronic devices and photographic equipment, and recently, Ricoh Malaysia has just launched its 1st Black and White Compact Laser Printers, i.e. Aficio™ SP 100 e Series Printers.
There are three models in this series, i.e.
SP 100 e
SP 100SU e
SP 100SF e
New Printers Feature
Ricoh Aficio™ SP 100 e
Ricoh Aficio™ SP 100 e
Ricoh Aficio™ SP 100SU e
Ricoh Aficio™ SP 100SU e
Ricoh Aficio™ SP 100SF e
Ricoh Aficio™ SP 100SF e
Here’s a little bit about the printers above. SP 100 e – RM 299 A4 mono laser printer ideal for personal use whileSP 100SU e and SP 100 SF e – RM 499 and RM 669 Multi Function Printers providing small businesses the option of keeping overheads low.
These printers are pretty stylish, I must say. Its’compact design frees up valuable space on your desk, and it’s certainly suitable for those limited space. I would highly recommend this for students and entrepreneurs as these printers can can placed on a desktop, shop counter or open shelf.
Those who are in business line would find this device is highly mobile too as it can easily be brought to conferences or meeting rooms to provide access to print, copy and scan functionality. These portable devices can be placed in a carrier bag and transported around to wherever their versatile functionality is required.
Apart from being mobile, these printers are also productive. Print speeds up to 13ppm A4 with 16MB memory (SP 100 e and SP 100SU e) / 32MB memory (SP 100SF e), and it also prints up to 1,200 x 600 dpi resolution.
All models come with the starter AIO (All-In-One) cartridge which are easy to maintain and replace. They’re have simple and fast USB connectivity with full front operation and machine access for easy paper jam removal. The printers are also designed for easy cartridges change as well, so you don’t have to worry about changing cartridges whenever the printers is out of cartridges.
These robust and durable devices have an impressive unit life of 50,000 prints, and the best part of all is that these printers is idiot proof for those who are not exactly techie literate. The setup time is reduced as you can plug the device into the USB slot of the host computer and be used within minutes. Yes. It’s a plug and play device.
One thing that I like about these printing devices is that they are environmentally friendly. They are devices without the ID chip and has been designed with the industry-first toner refilling option—a feature that also reduces costs. These Ricoh printers have energy-saving mode and uses as little as 5 W or less. Absolutely great to use if you want to reduce your electric bills.
The manual duplex printing has the ability to print recycled paper. Great way to reduce the usage of paper, don’t you think?

Guilt-free Ramadan Feast with O Brien’s
I was invited for a food review/ Ramadan blogger gathering by Foodpanda crew last week. This time around, it’s at O’ Brien’s Irish Sandwich and Coffee.
O’Briens has been in Malaysia since 2002 and has grown from strength to strength, beginning with the first outlet in Great Eastern Mall and growing to the current 11 outlets in the Klang Valley, inclusive of Damansara Heights UOA II, Menara OCBC, Menara Weld Shopping Centre, The Curve, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Suria KLCC, Menara Prudential, Sunway Pyramid, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Midvalley Megamall and Subang Empire Shopping Gallery.
This is one of the place where hardcore sandwich lovers like me will definitely love. I’ve always loved sandwiches. It’s great wholesome meal to take when you’re busy or on the go.
Sandwiches are made upon orders to retain the freshness and coffee lovers will discover that coffees are freshly brewed over here.
Take a look at these… these are the ingredients for the sandwiches fillings.
Plenty of greens and cheese
[image error]
And of course, meat and poultry for the meat lovers[image error]
Fruits for juicing purposes[image error]
While waiting for the sandwiches to be prepared… we bloggers spotted something…
[image error]
Something huge, something warm, and something friendly. It’s none other than Foodpanda himself.
It was really a wonderful surprise and the panda brought smiles to our faces.
Anyway, after waiting for a while, I ordered something to drink so that I can warm my tummy. Hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. Irresistible, especially during cold weather.
And then the food came, this is what we had….O’Briens Chicken Tripledecker (RM18.80). Toostie with Chicken & Chicken Crisp, Lettuce, cheddar cheese, Red onion, Coleslaw & Tomato. This is my personal favourite whenever I visit O Brien’s outlet.
Chicken Slice & Cheddar Cheese on Shambo (RM15.80). Toostie with Fresh Tomato, Red Onion, Lettuce & Honey Mustard Mayonnaise. This one is rich with cheese, but the cheese does not overwhelms the chicken. Taste really great, and I would highly recommend this to those who loves cheesy food.
Sundried Tomato on Hot Ciabatta (RM15.80). Toostie with Sundried Tomato, Red Onion, Fresh Tomato, Mozzarella cheese, Roasted vegetables & Basil Pesto. * Add Chicken for RM3.50. I never tried this one before, but this sandwich reminds me of some kind of a Mediterranean bread. Love it very much.
Soup of the day. Mushroom soup served with a slice of garlic bread. I love mushroom soup, but there’s nothing to shout about. I would prefer it more if it’s thicker, but that’s just me. I’m sure you’ll like this one if you’re a fan of mushroom soup.
Right now, O Brien’s is having a Ramadhan promotion. Curry Chicken Mayo Sandwich with cashew nut & grapes + Ice lemon tea for RM16 per set. Quite a good deal, I must say. If you want to opt for ala-carte, it is RM13.50.
This sandwich taste a bit different and exotic than the rest, but it’s specially crafted to cater to those who are fasting. It’s not only a healthier choice for breaking fast, but it’s also packed with energy. You might want to give it a go.
There is plenty of O Brien’s outlet in Malaysia, but if you’re living in KL and can’t go to all of these outlet, you might want to ask the friendly Foodpanda to send it to you.
Foodpanda is an online food delivery website in Malaysia. It now offers diners more variety with 100 food joints in its website since its recent debut on 26th March 2012.With restaurants including O’Briens Irish Sandwich Café, Canadian Pizza, Sushi King, Secret Recipe, Fatty Crabs, ChicKing Fried Chicken, Darabif and Hakka KL, there’s always something for everyone who’s on the hunt for good food, so be sure to check them out whenever you feel like eating out but can’t be bothered to drive out.
Anyway, I had a really good time with my blogger friends and the Foodpanda crew. Here’s one for the album.
Cleffairy: Foodpanda is really abit like a superhero…it saves you from hunger with just a few clicks. Now, that’s what I call a superpower.

Bit Bit in The House
Meet my second daughter, dear readers…
[image error]
Her name is Bit Bit. My husband named her ‘Bit Bit’ because according to him, she looks abit like a rabbit with her white fur and pink nose. I met her for the first time today, 27th July 2012 in the basement carpark of my apartment.
I DID NOT intend to adopt her, I assure you. She adopted me! The evil thing followed me and my family and refuse to stay put, and fearing the poor little thing will be hit by a car by accident, I picked Bit Bit up and bring her home since there’s no sign of Mama Cat around.
And now, she’s temporarily using Meow Meow’s cage until she’s fully house trained and toilet trained.
Bit Bit is quite a bossy and sneaky little creature, but my son is quite taken with Bit Bit. Right now, he’s teaching Bit Bit how to shake hands, and insist on giving his blanket to Bit Bit, and she’s loving all the attention he’s giving her.
Meow Meow wasn’t very pleased, of course. She’s a little upset and jealous that we have another kitty to dote on, but she’s doing pretty well with Bit Bit’s presense. Apart from hissing at Bit Bit when Bit Bit gets too noisy, Meow Meow avoided going near to Bit Bit.
Cleffairy: I really do hope my two girls can get along well with each other, for I love both of them equally.

Emancipate your inner starlet with Bkay
I’m not sure if any of you ladies have low self-esteem problems after you tie the knot, but at some point, I certainly have that problem. You see, after elevating my status to a married woman and a mother, I concentrate too much on being a wife and a mother and neglected being myself to the point I even forgot how to communicate with people who are not my family.Trust me, having coup up at home just to take care of your husband and kid 24/7 for so many years consecutively does that to you!
At some point during my marriage, I think I was merely a wife and a mother instead of myself. I stopped doing things that I like, I stopped having fun, I stopped dressing up and taking good care of myself, and I definitely stop taking time for myself. When I looked into the mirror, I looked ugly, haggard, and tired.
This is something that all chauvinist swine of a husband would applaud, but I think this is wrong and a complete violation of women’s right. A woman should not lose herself to motherhood and marriage. She should not stop being herself when she got married and have babies.
A woman should not stop being her confident, beautiful self just because she’s married with children, and she should not restrict herself just being surrounded in the four walls of her home just because the society expects her to do so.
If a woman restrict herself to just being a wife and mother who dedicate herself to see her husband’s needs and picks up after her children’s mess, then she is no different from an unpaid maid.
Anyway, having said that reminds me that I would like to introduce to you ladies a full-service image consulting firm, Bkay Nair Resources (BNR) .
Last week, I was invited to attend the soft launching of Bkay Nair Resources (BNR) where where they showcased their comprehensive image consulting company which aims to help their clients recreate themselves by discovering their hidden personalities within.
Bkay Nair Resources’ services includes hosting image consulting seminars, workshops, special programs, individual services, and private consulting, all relating to the physical, social, psychological, and aesthetic aspects of personal appearance and self-presentation in all ways of life. They also work with individuals, businesses, industries, universities, schools, government, and organisations, customizing programs and services to deliver extraordinary results that meet and exceed expectations.
During the intimate event in Temptation Kitchen Changkat, the Bkay Nair, the owner of BKay Nair Resources stressed on how important it is for us to feel comfortable with ourselves. She also mentioned how important it is for us to give a good first impression to the public so that we can attract more positive aura and achieve greater things in whatever we’re doing. I couldn’t agree more on that, as when you project an image of confidence, you are more likely to succeed in both business and social relationships.
During the soft launching, there was a fashion showcase where the models showcase the designs from Nila Palacious, an expert in Latin fashion.
From left the model, Nila Palacious and the rest of the girls.
Apart from the fashion show, there’s also a make up demo. We were shown how to put on night make up. Kinda cool, cuz I’m hopeless in that department. I usually go around without make up.
From left: The model and the make up artist.
These picture is taken after the event. Bkay is in the middle. She’s the the lady in gold and blue dress. I’m sure some of you would feel that she looks quite familiar. Well, she is quite a familiar face in the local entertainment industry. She was Miss India Tourism 2007/2008 and Miss Malaysia India Global 2008/2009. Bkay has done over four films including Ratu The Movie, Raya Tak Jadi, Bujang Terlajak, and Ngorat in the past few years. Bkay has also played key roles in various TV series such as Dewa Cinta, Gerak Khas, Musim Kirana, and Suara Banduan.
If you’re interested in building your confidence and revamp yourselves into a better version of yourselves, you might want to consult Bkay Nair Resources.
Here’s contact information, in case you wanna check them out:

Frontera Sol of Mexico Ramadan Offerings
Bored with all the normal breaking fast offerings? Well, why not try something different. Say,some Tex Mex? I know a really cool, authentic Mexican restaurant that will blow you away with all of it’s offering this Ramadan.
The restaurant’s ambience is very romantic and dimmed in the evening, so it’s not really friendly for low end cameras at night. If you intend to take lotsa foodie pictures in this restaurant, be sure to bring your DSLR or something for better quality. My camera is a lousy old camera, so please forgive me for the lack of photo quality.
Food-wise, I can assure you that they will spoil you with choices.
They have special buffet spread during Ramadan
Frontera Sol of Mexico Ramadan’s offering kicks off with appetizers like soup of the day
And the salad station with plenty of dressings and side dishes to choose from.
There’s two types of brushchetta. One is mushroom brushchetta
While another one is chicken brushchetta. I got to say that I fancy the mushroom one more than the chicken brushchetta. I have no idea why, but I suppose the mushroom tantalized my senses more than the chicken ones.
Tofu tostada
Taquitos de Pollo – small rolled up tortillas stuffed with a variety of delicious fillings such as chicken or beef.
Fish tacos
Finger licking good BBQ chicken wings
Mexican rice…duzzin look so appetizing, huh? But I can vouch for the taste. The taste was divine.
Same goes with the mashed potatoes. They don’t look so appetizing, but it’s really fluffy and tasted really good. Goes well with the Mexican rice.
Anyway, I took a bit of everything during the buffet. Took the rice and mashed potatoes, two types of tacos, (fish and chicken tacos) tofu and beef tostadas, two types of brushchettas
And of course, some salads and Taquitos de Pollo.
I got to warn you folks, though. If you intend to enjoy this Ramadan buffet offerings, you might want to consider going easy on the buffet spread as the buffet comes with a choice of mains.
I chose a set of Texas burger as my main and I ended up almost too full from the starters to enjoy the Texas burger.
Anyway, if you think your dining experience ends there, then you’re wrong. You’ll also be spoiled for choices in the dessert department, so if you’re a fan of desserts and sweet stuff, you’ll enjoy their dessert selection very much.
Mexican flan
Fiesta de Fruita
Brownies for the chocolate lovers
Tres leches cake. Literally translated as ‘three milk cake’. Made from three types of milk. Not exactly my favourite that night (cuz I always go for things that’s less sweet), but those who loves sweet cakes will definitely love this.
Refreshing fruit popsicles. One of my favourite in the buffet selection. Sweet and sourish.
Interested in going for Tex-Mex dishes this Ramadan? Well, hop over to Frontera Sol of Mexico. They’re having Ramadan Buffet promotion

The Dark Knight Rises Movie Review
Now, let me be frank with you. I’m never a Batman fan. That feller is way too broody for my taste.I’ve always felt that Bruce Wayne is in serious need of a pshychiatrist and he could use some fresh air and more sun.
Ever since I was a child, I fancy the mild mannered Clark Kent more. (Read: I have red undies fetish. LOL) I’ve always been a Lois Lane material and is a huge fan of Superman, but I got to say, The Dark Knight Rises surpass my expectation. One would have thought that this particular movie will put me off to sleep within 15 minutes like it’s predecessor, but it did not. In fact, it kept me awake.
The Dark Knight Rises is is quite slow in the beginning but the pace picked up after the first quarter of the movie. There’s plenty of characters involved in the story, so it might be quite confusing for those who is not familiar with Batman. I feel that the scriptwriter did quite a bad job in the character development department. Those old fashion Batman starred by Val Kilmer and George Clooney was much more interesting, in my humble opinion. Even the villians in those old fashion Batman movies are catchy and entertaining despite the fact that they’re supposed to be the bad guys.
The characters in The Dark Knight Rises could have been given more room to show their personalities, but I suppose they made up with the superb action scenes in the movie. The action kept me entertained, thank God for that.
There’s plenty of jokes inserted as a filler and plenty of unexpected twist and turns in The Dark Knight Rises, so if you’re into all that, this movie is quite worth to watch.
So… did I like the movie? I can’t really say I like it. (Cuz I’m Superman’s fangirl…and Ironman, and Thor… LOL!) But I suppose it’s an okay watch if you like an action packed movie.
I would rate this movie a 3 out of 5 stars. I was given an opportunity to watch The Dark Knight Rises premier, courtesy of P1 Wimax and Denaihati Network, and I’m in no way compensated in monetary way for writing this review.

Giving Up Smoking in a Smoke-Filled World
The world is full of smoke drifting through the air, and that can make it difficult to buck the trend and quit. But with electronic cigarettes, patches, gum, and a whole host of other methods out there, you are not alone in your fight. Not all of these ways can help somebody quit smoking, but it’s guaranteed that one will. Find your saviour and you can join a world of healthy living!
E-Cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes are the latest way to stop smoking. They look similar to cigarettes, they feel like cigarettes, and they smoke like cigarettes. The only difference is that the ‘tobacco’ is actually just water vapour. This makes it completely safe to inhale whilst not bothering anybody else around you. The great news is that in most States you can smoke these things anywhere without breaking the law, however keep an eye on the news as some States are now looking to ban these.
Nicotine Patches
Nicotine patches have had varying levels of success over the years. Some people believe that they are just a load of codswallop, whereas others swear by them, and attribute their new healthy lifestyle to these patches. This shows that they are obviously, very hit and miss, and really do depend on the individual who uses them. Basically, they shoot small doses of nicotine into the system to help alleviate the cravings. But don’t worry as that’s not dangerous as nicotine is merely the substance that causes an addiction to smoking in the first place.
These can be obtained from a local pharmacy, but it’s wise to visit a doctor to see if this is really the best option for you.
Gum
Gum has had quite a lot of success in helping smokers quit their dirty habit. It’s exactly the same as normal gum, except small doses of nicotine are put into every little piece. This allows people to feel that familiar taste of nicotine in their mouth and can prevent fidgeting. That’s something that many people suffer with when quitting smoking. They are so used to having a cigarette in their hand and mouth, that if it isn’t there they start getting edgy and fidgety. Eventually this becomes such a distraction that it starts to have a negative effect on their lives. And, that’s when they start believing that starting smoking again would be a good idea.
Cold Turkey
This is a dangerous method as it requires an incredible amount of willpower. Going cold turkey is simple eliminating smoking completely whilst not using any nicotine aids. If you have the willpower then this can be a fantastic way of quitting, as well as being the fastest. However, the problem is that if it doesn’t work then you’re just going to go back to smoking once again.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis has had proven success in a number of addictions and character traits. Subjects have to be susceptible to the process for it to help someone give up smoking but when it works, it has been extremely successful with long-lasting results.
To decide on the right method for you it’s advisable to visit your physician first. Electronic cigarettes are one of the ways but better go for there suggestions. They will be able to provide some additional guidance that can help in choosing the right method.
About the author: Samuel White is a life coach who tours the States presenting to audiences and in one-on-one sessions, methods of taking personal control with emphasis on addictions and weight loss.
