AT LAST SINGER DIES

Etta James succumbed to leukemia this week. According to various reports, she also suffered from dementia and Hepatitis C. The singer had been keeping a low profile lately. She reemerged when Beyonce sung her signature song for the Obama's first dance after the President's inauguration. She wasn't too happy about the star singing her song during the event.

RIP Etta James.

BRADY PUNISHES TEBOW

Any diehard football fan should have seen this coming. Tom Brady's New England Patriots pummeled Tim Tebow's Denver Broncos last night. With a score of 10-45, the game ended with whipped Tebow jogging off to the locker room.

I think this will teach some people about falling for an interesting media story. Don't get me wrong; Tebow is a good ball player and, one day fairly soon, he will make it to the Superbowl but all this hype surrounding him was unnecessary and misleading. Football fans...

THE GOLDDIGGER'S CLUB IS HERE

The long awaited book about three women and their relentless pursuit of money is here. The Golddigger's Club was released Tuesday, January 3rd. Yesterday, I had a book release party at The Zodiac Grill in Jacksonville, Florida. It was well attended with great food.

BEY AND JAY'S NEW BABY GIRL

In case you haven't heard, Beyonce had baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, on Saturday. Bey delivered through a cesarean. Bey and Jay-Z paid the hospital $1.3 million dollars to have a floor to themselves.

THE END FOR DEION AND PILAR SANDERS

I don't know why but I really wanted to believe that they would work this out. They are such a striking couple but, unfortunately, Deion Sanders announced via Facebook that he and Pilar are going their separate ways after 12 years of marriage. According to TMZ, the couple's prenup states that Deion will have to buy Pilar a $10 million house.

Sad, sad, sad. I hope that they are able to remain amicable for their children.

VERY FEW GOOD WHITE GUYS

Yes, you read right. According to Robin Thicke, there are very "few good white men" out there. This was his response to a question asked about rather black women should seek out white men. He also said that he and wife Paula Patton have been together for 18 years and that he's never dated a white woman. Check out Essence magazine to read the rest of his interview.

I would be interested in hearing Thicke elaborate on this one. It's quite an assertion to say something like that about a whole...

SHAME, SHAME, I KNOW YOUR NAME

Reports say that The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) is getting a little Hollywood. Basically, they are staging scenes and using actresses. The accusation came up after the recent episode aired with Sheree Whitfield and her ex-husband battling it out in court over child support. Allegedly, the judge was an actress. This is the first week that the RHOA has shown two episodes in one week.

I know that many reality shows are at least partially scripted but I truly hope that RHOA didn't go this ...

LOVE AND HIP HOP ATLANTA

According to various reports, there may be a Love and Hip Hop Atlanta on the way. The potential cast of the new VH1 show will be Nivea (one of Lil Wayne's baby's mother), Carmen Bryan (Nas' baby mother), Diamond (Lil Scrappy's ex) and Rasheeda (rapper). Nothing seems to be written in stone yet but I would bet this is going to go down.

So many reality shows, I can barely keep up!

DEMI MOORE TWITTER RANT

Do not talk to Demi Moore about her Twitter name. This week, fans questioned why the actress was still using @MrsKutcher as her Twitter username. Moore addressed them saying that the name was not a "priority" for her right now. She recently announced her split from Ashton Kutcher, after a woman went to the media claiming to have had an affair with him.

I think fans should give Demi a break. This can't be easy for her. I'm sure she'll change her name eventually.
