Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj began his trip to the US with a visit to an ammunition factory in Pennsylvania. He thanked workers at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant for their support, the British Telegraph reported. “In places like this you can really feel that the democratic world can win,” Zelensky said in his post on X.

According to the Telegraph, Zelensky will present his “winning strategy” to end the two-and-a-half-year war with Russia in New York and Washington. Meetings are planned with President Joe Biden and presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, in particular, with Zelensky hoping to win Biden over the US and UK, which are currently refusing to give up long-range weapons over fears of escalation.

Russian bombs hit Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia

According to local authorities, 16 people were injured in a Russian airstrike on the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia. According to Ukrainian media reports, it was the first time the city had been hit with glide bombs. Ukrainian police said 13 residential buildings, two kindergartens and several cars were damaged in the overnight attack.

Glide bombs are dropped by Russian fighter jets near the front and then guided tens of kilometers to their targets. Such bombs, containing several hundred kilograms of explosives, have caused serious damage in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv and elsewhere. To prevent such attacks, Ukraine has asked for permission to use Western weapons against Russian air bases near the front line.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia also used four combat drones at night. Three of them were shot down.

On the A4 highway, on the border of Katowice and Chorzów, a passenger car hit a barrier. There was a huge traffic jam on the route to Krakow.
