Vanessa Lachey Made ‘Love Is Blind’ Fans Cringe With 1 Completely Inappropriate Request
Vanessa Lachey channeled overly curious family members during the very messy “Love is blindSunday reunion special.
Lachey, who hosts the Netflix reality dating series with husband Nick Lachey, talked a lot about the babies during the reunion and continued to harass the couples who got married during the show’s fourth season about to have children.
Her first mention of potential ‘Love Is Blind’ offspring came about 20 minutes into the special when she was talking to Zack Goytowski and his wife, Bliss Poureetezadi, about their romantic first dance at their wedding. .
“Zack, your face when you looked at your wife, and when you danced with her, I knew that man was in love with her,” Vanessa Lachey began before blurting, “and I hope, holy cow, for the first baby from “Love Is Blind”.

At this point, Lachey’s remark could have been attributed to nerves. The reunion special, which was supposed to be live, ended up being taped due to technical issues and started an hour later than scheduled.
But she broached the subject again after a pre-recorded montage of the lives of married couples aired.
“Aunt Vanessa is still hoping for that ‘Love is Blind’ baby,” she said after the cut was over.
And when her husband tried to change the subject, she continued.
“I’m just saying,” she insisted.
Lachey had the opportunity to raise babies again when Season 3 cast member Bartise Bowden appeared in a video holding her baby and asking married couples who would be the first to have children.
“OK, seriously, if that doesn’t burn your ovaries, I don’t know,” she said immediately after Bowden’s video played.
“But I need to know, who’s going to give me our first ‘Love is Blind’ baby?”
She then bluntly asked each married couple about their reproductive plans.

Each couple graciously dodged the intrusive question, with Brett Brown responding: “I was just going to make a joke, I was like, ‘Jesus, you really pressured the baby [on].’”
Vanessa Lachey’s refusal to let go gave many “Love Is Blind” viewers a serious case of unease, and many expressed their unease on Twitter.

Why was Vanessa Lachey pushing everyone so hard for a baby? it was so weird and you also don’t know each other’s situation, if they want kids, if they can even have kids, etc. so weird. then LIB with BARTISE? everyone?

I need Vanessa Lachey to calm down on this baby thing. Haven’t we learned to stop pressuring couples/women about when they are going to have children?

Vanessa Lachey cringes every season. His microaggressions, the whole Jackie/Marshall situation, and his annoying obsession with wanting a #Love is blind Babe. You don’t know anyone’s situation to push this topic, ever. @netflix hire another couple to host

#LOVEISBLINDeunion what, is going on with vanessa lachey’s rampant baby fever? why does she keep asking the standing 1 year old pairs when they are going to breed. it was so embarrassing
— Priya (@priya_ebooks) April 18, 2023
Hey @netflix please tell vanessa lachey to stop the baby stuff. It’s rude and insensitive to ask because these women might miscarry or have trouble conceiving and may not want the public to know. Pressuring someone like that is wrong

Asking someone when they plan to have children is a deeply personal and intrusive question, especially because there can be a multitude of reasons for not having children.
The issue could be particularly harmful if someone is struggling with infertility, which is so common that it affects around 1 in 6 people worldwide, according to a 2023 report from the World Health Organization.
Another problem is that someone might be expecting a child but feel uncomfortable sharing this information because 80% of early pregnancy losses occurs in the first trimester, according to the National Center for Biotechnology Information.
If you happen to be in a monogamous relationship and someone keeps asking you when you’re going to have kids, fertility advocate Rachel Gurevich suggested a great answer in an article for very good family:
“It’s a rather personal question, don’t you think?” Anyway, how’s your new job? »

Owner’s grandson says filming Ralph Yarl ‘should never have happened’
The grandson of an elderly Kansas City landlord, accused of shooting a teenager who got into the wrong house while trying to pick up his younger brothers, has admitted the near-fatal encounter “wouldn’t have never had to happen”.
“It’s just crazy. I wish that didn’t happen,” Daniel Ludwig told The Daily Beast.
Ludwig’s grandfather, retired aircraft mechanic Andrew Lester, shot 16-year-old Ralph Yarl in the head and arm after he answered the door last Thursday with a loaded .32 caliber revolver. hand, according to the police. Lester, 84, told cops he ‘believed someone was trying to break into the house and fired twice within seconds of opening the door,’ according to a probable cause affidavit attached to a criminal complaint accusing him of two crimes that could lock him up for life.
“Don’t come here,” said Ralph, who is black, Lester, who is white, told her as he got up and ran away to avoid being shot again.
Ralph, who later disputed Lester’s claim that he pulled the doorknob, was found “on the street” nearby, according to the affidavit.
Civil rights lawyers Ben Crump and Lee Merritt, who represent the Yarl family, called the shooting “horrific and unjustifiable”. A family friend whose wife works with Ralph’s mother, a nurse in Kansas City, told The Daily Beast he doesn’t think a white woman would have been shot had she been in the same situation. Two neighbors reportedly ignored an ailing Ralph, who showed up on their doorstep asking for help, adding to community outrage.
The streets in the area are extremely confusing to navigate, locals say, and Ralph’s aunt said in a TikTok video that her nephew doesn’t have his phone with him to help him navigate. He parked in Lester’s driveway, apparently thinking he was on the 115th terrace. Instead, it was on 115th Street, just a block away. A local woman told the Daily Beast that the roads all have the same name and she gets mail from her neighbors “all the time”.
The story continues
Ludwig, who described himself as “very close” to Lester, said he had in fact often been in exactly the same situation.
“I was going to visit my grandfather and I got lost in these streets,” he told The Daily Beast. ” It is easy to do. They all look alike and everything. (Ludwig also said he thought his grandfather felt unsafe, a claim not supported by any publicly available evidence to date.)

Clay County District Attorney Zachary Thompson said at a Monday news conference that the case involved a “racial component,” without giving further explanation. A neighbor of Lester who asked not to be named told The Daily Beast she believed race absolutely played a part in the shooting.
“I just want to make sure the world doesn’t think every neighbor here is okay with this shit,” she said.
As people across the country struggle to digest another senseless spasm of gun violence, Ludwig said he was “praying for everyone.”
For Joseph Giacalone, a retired NYPD detective sergeant who now teaches at New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice, the whole tragedy could and should have been avoided.
“I just don’t see any justification for it,” he told The Daily Beast. “I’m just starting to wonder, have people lost their minds?”

Proof Jessica Biel’s Old Pics Are Tearin’ Up Justin Timberlake’s Heart

Jessica Biel can’t stop the feeling that comes with these throwback pictures.
The actress recently posted a collection of photos taken more than 20 years ago, back when she was one of the lead stars of 7th Heaven and a talent to watch in Hollywood.
In one of the images, taken on the red carpet for the 1999 premiere of American Pie, Jessica is seen wearing an ombre tank top and cropped black pants. She also shared a photo from the 1998 premiere of Playing by Heart, where she sported a black graphic tee, leather jacket and multicolored beanie to the event.
“I hear all of these outfits are cool again,” Jessica captioned her April 17 slideshow. “Love that for me because I was worried they were questionable the first time.”
Justin Timberlake, who met Jessica in 2007 and married her in 2012, had nothing but heart eyes for the photos, writing in the comments, “The teenage me just started sweating.”
Musician Pras Michel undergoes withering cross examination about foreign money

Grammy-winning musician Pras Michel told a jury that millions of dollars he accepted from a fugitive billionaire amounted to “free money” he pocketed for trying to get the man a photo with then-President Obama.
Under withering cross examination, Michel acknowledged he used some of that money to pay for friends to attend $40,000-a-plate fundraisers for the Obama campaign in 2012, essentially funneling illegal foreign funds into the American election system.
Years later, after FBI agents visited his friends, Michel sent the friends letters characterizing those gifts as loans and demanding repayment amid threats to sue them. He said he relied on advice from an attorney at the time, and that he depended on his financial adviser for advice regarding the billionaire’s money, which he reported as a gift to avoid paying taxes.
“Every time you lied or did something illegal, it’s on someone else?” asked prosecutor John Keller.
No, Michel replied, later adding that he had “panicked” when the FBI came knocking.
“I was scared, I did something stupid,” Michel said.
Michel faces nearly a dozen criminal charges stemming from his ties to the billionaire Jho Low, who is on the run from justice after being accused of stealing billions from a Malaysian sovereign wealth fund.
For the first time in the trial, Michel took the witness stand in his own defense Tuesday. Outside the presence of the jury, U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly asked him whether he had enough time to consider his decision to testify.
“After consulting with my attorneys and the universe, I have decided I will testify,” he told the judge.
Michel tested the microphone before explaining to a jury in the federal courthouse in Washington, D.C. his journey from a low-income household in New Jersey to “global stardom” with the hip hop group Fugees, which he said was named in homage to his parents’ ties to Haiti.
“We were representing for everyone who basically felt like an outcast, didn’t fit in,” Michel said.
The band hit the bigtime and Michel said he “went from being on the streets of Newark to Park Avenue overnight.”
Trouble started after he sought to reinvent himself as a political insider. The Justice Department says he collected nearly $100 million from Low to influence the Obama and Trump administrations–first to buy access and secure a photo of Low with President Obama, then to try to press the Trump administration to abandon civil and criminal probes of Low.
Michel initially told the jury that he didn’t know it was illegal to pay for others to attend political fundraising events. But prosecutor Keller showed him language on an Obama campaign form that spelled out the federal election rules. Michel said he hadn’t read the document.
Then, Keller asked about two of Michel’s friends, who later returned the money he gave them after consulting with their own attorneys about the legality of those payments, and about an Obama fundraiser telling Michel any money he donated had to be “legitimately your money.”
At one point, documents that the prosecutor was using to cross examine Michel did not display on screens for the jury. At least one juror made a hand gesture to signal the court about the technical problem. Then, when the documents showed up on their screens, nearly all of the jurors peered closely at them.
Defense lawyer David Kenner repeatedly objected during the cross examination, but he generally did not prevail with the judge or give his client much of a respite from the barrage of prosecutor questions.
During his direct examination, Michel spoke expansively about his meetings with “A-list celebrities” and the lavish display of wealth from Low. For instance, at their first encounter in 2006 at a New York club, Low appeared to one-up Wall Street moneymen in the crowd by offering to buy the entire bar’s supply of champagne, wine and other libations.
“The crowd just went nuts and almost right on cue, the DJ came on and you hear ‘boom boom bop boom boom bop, we will we will rock you,'” Michel said.
Michel also spoke about his respect for former President Obama, whom he wanted to help secure a second term in the White House.
“I got some free money, I figured why not just pay it forward and also to help the cause…help President Obama get re-elected,” Michel said.
Pointing out that Low spent money to attract celebrities to his parties and pay for Britney Spears to jump out of his birthday cake, Michel said he figured those things weren’t “even all that important” compared to a photo with a historical figure such as Obama.
“It’s what the market is willing to bear,” Michel said.
The prosecutor’s cross examination will continue Wednesday.
Blue-eyed coyotes in California leave experts baffled

Mysterious blue-eyed coyotes spotted living in California are still baffling experts.
Coyotes, found throughout the United States, typically have yellowish eyes and brown irises. They are born with blue eyes initially, but they gradually change color as they age.
However, since 2018, piercing blue-eyed adult coyotes have been spotted roaming parts of California, particularly the Point Reyes area upstate.
Daniel Dietrich, owner of wildlife and photography travel company Point Reyes Safaris, first took a picture of one of the animals in 2018, according to a 2019 report from SFGate. Shortly after, he spots another. Since then more photographs of the strange animals have been captured and it has become clear that this is part of an emerging trend.

Experts believe that blue eyes are the result of a genetic mutation. But why it developed remains a mystery five years later.
This is still an incredibly rare feature, and only a handful of these coyotes have ever been filmed. We don’t know how many blue-eyed coyotes there are.
James Brooks, a Ph.D. candidate at the Wildlife Research Center of Kyoto University, has looked into the potential causes of this phenomenon.
Brooks said Newsweek“At this time, we really don’t know why some coyotes have blue eyes. There have not yet been any empirical studies on the frequency of blue eyes, genetics, or the underlying causes. is a really interesting and exciting question, but right now we really don’t know why we see coyotes around Point Reyes with blue eyes.”
The blue-eyed trait appears to be localized to specific areas in Northern California. It’s unclear if other blue-eyed coyotes have been spotted in other parts of the United States.
In 2021, Heather Bené Dubin-Brians spotted one on her way to Pierce Point Ranch in Inverness and posted a picture on Facebook.
Photographs were also taken by photographer Jim Coda in 2019.
Brooks is also co-author of the 2020 study: Coyotes living near cities are bolder: implications for dog evolution and human-wildlife conflict. This presented the hypothesis that the mutation could be related to domestication.
In the study, Brooks and his colleagues found that coyotes living in areas with high human populations and expanding housing estates behaved more boldly. Using camera traps, scientists sought to find out if coyotes in northern California counties were showing signs of bold behavior and potentially becoming more domesticated.
They found that coyotes living in more suburban environments were more likely to approach the camera. This isn’t surprising, as animals that live near humans tend to become more curious, explaining why they were more likely to approach the camera.
But some of these “bolder” coyotes had unusual colorations called “taming traits.”
“There are several species that have blue eyes, but interestingly, variation in eye color within a given species is quite rare. In most species, either every adult has blue eyes, or none have,” Brooks said. “There are some species of birds that vary in eye color with age, but variation in adults is rare. The only species that vary in adult eye color are actually humans and domesticated species.”
An example to which this could be linked is the domestication of dogs. Dogs evolved from gray wolves that were domesticated around 130,000 years ago. Dogs and coyotes are related, which means that coyotes can display some of the domestication traits sometimes seen in dogs.
This also raises another theory – that these blue-eyed coyotes are part dogs. Hybrids between dogs and coyotes are biologically possible. But again, more research on this is needed.
“[During the study] one of the traits that really caught our attention was the new eye coloration observed at Point Reyes, adding coyotes to the very small list of species with variable adult eye colors,” Brooks said. “Our research was preliminary, and our goal of reporting these physical traits was simply to document that there seems to be something really interesting going on here. We’ll need focused research from a variety of angles to understand why and how blue eyes arose in wild coyotes, but it certainly seems like an interesting and worthwhile area of study. »
National geographicwho published a paper in 2019 analyzing the find, said it’s likely the mutation dates back several generations.
But it is also uncertain. Just because these blue-eyed coyotes weren’t seen until 2018 doesn’t mean they didn’t exist before. And quite when it emerged remains to be seen.
Another mystery is how these blue eyes will affect the later evolution of coyotes and their adaptability to their environment.
Blue eyes, for example, can potentially cause light sensitivity, SFGate reported in 2019. Blue-eyed coyotes may end up changing their behavior because of it. The blue color could also potentially interfere with camouflage.

George Santos announces his re-election and does not impress anyone

The notoriously “truth-challenged” congressman announced the candidacy on Twitter, promising to “[Take back] our country and [restore] greatness in New York,” even though most of his constituents say they want him to quit, according to New York Magazine.
Whereas Santos admitted to lying, among other things, go to an elite private school in New Yorkobtain a master’s degree in commerce and working at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, it’s no wonder that many Twitter users felt the best response was mockery – total mockery.

Wedding retailer David’s Bridal is filing for bankruptcy for the second time in five years, and is laying off 9,326 employees over four months, the company announced Monday.
David’s Bridal first filed for bankruptcy in 2018 to restructure its debt. But the COVID-19 pandemic meant less customers were visiting its brick-and-mortar stores and factories had to shut down.
“We have successfully modernized our marketing and customer interaction processes and driven our retail service levels to best in class,” CEO James Marcum said. “Nonetheless, our business continues to be challenged by the post-COVID environment and uncertain economic conditions, leading us to take this step to identify a buyer who can continue to operate our business going forward.”
In 2012, a private equity firm bought David’s Bridal, which riddled the company with debt. Additionally, societal changes, such as couples marrying later and having smaller weddings, and women buying dresses online and secondhand, has impacted the wedding industry in recent years.
Orders will still be fulfilled, as stores will remain open and its website will still be available, it said.
Additionally, customers will still be able to take advantage of Diamond, the rewards program. Gift cards, returns and exchanges are also being honored.
Employees will continue to be paid, the company said.
It’s true: Rep. George Santos announces his bid for reelection

NEW YORK — U.S. Rep. George Santos, the New York Republican whose lies about his background and wealth helped propel him into office, announced Monday that he’s running for reelection.
More than perhaps any incumbent, Santos enters the race as an underdog — abandoned by many fellow Republicans while facing investigations over a myriad of allegations about falsehoods during his last campaign.
During that race, Santos portrayed himself as a graduate of prestigious colleges who had gone on to have a successful career on Wall Street while amassing a real estate investment portfolio. In reality, he didn’t go to college, didn’t work for the Wall Street firms where he claimed to have made big deals and had struggled in recent years to pay his rent.
In his campaign announcement, Santos didn’t mention any of that and instead highlighted his zeal in fighting for conservative principals in Washington and his background as “a poor boy of immigrant parents in Queens.”
“We need a fighter who knows the district and can serve the people fearlessly,” he said.
Santos has previously referred to the fabrications about his background, which included lying about having Jewish ancestry and about having been a star volleyball player, as harmless embellishments.
Journalists have also uncovered other issues in his past, including criminal theft charges in Pennsylvania in 2017 and charges from years ago in Brazil, where he was accused of using a fraudulent check to buy apparel.
Despite those allegations, Santos refused calls from many fellow New York Republicans to resign.
While Santos faces a crush of investigations — by the House Ethics Committee and a county prosecutor in New York — he appears unmoved by the challenges.
Canada’s public broadcaster pauses Twitter after ‘government-funded media’ label

TORONTO — The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation paused its use of Twitter on Monday after the social media platform owned by Elon Musk stamped CBC’s account with a label the public broadcaster says is intended to undermine its credibility.
Twitter labelled CBC/Radio-Canada “government-funded media” — the same label that prompted National Public Radio in the U.S. to similarly quit Twitter last Wednesday.
“Twitter can be a powerful tool for our journalists to communicate with Canadians, but it undermines the accuracy and professionalism of the work they do to allow our independence to be falsely described in this way,” CBC spokesman Leon Mar said in a statement announcing the change Monday afternoon.
“Consequently, we will be pausing our activity on our corporate Twitter account and all CBC and Radio-Canada news-related accounts,” the statement said.
CBC has sent a letter to Twitter asking the company to re-examine the designation. Musk later tweeted about it and changed it to “69 percent Government-funded media.”
CBC does not meet those criteria, Mar argued, because it is publicly funded through a parliamentary appropriation that is voted upon by all members of Parliament, and its editorial independence is protected in law in the Broadcasting Act.
The CBC’s board of directors determines how the funding it receives is spent. In 2021-22, the CBC received more than $1.2 billion Canadian (US$900 million) in government funding.
Opposition Conservative Party of Canada Pierre Poilievre had urged Twitter to label CBC. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau criticized Poilievre for what he called an “attack on a foundational Canadian institution.”
Twitter initially had labelled NPR’s main account as “state-affiliated media, ” a term also used to identify media outlets controlled or heavily influenced by authoritarian governments, such as Russia and China. Twitter later changed the label to “government-funded media,” but to NPR — which relies on the government for a tiny fraction of its funding — it’s still misleading.
Twitter earlier responded to a request for comment about why the label was applied and whether it would be removed or changed with an auto-generated email bearing a poop emoji.
Twitter, more than any of its rivals, has said its users come to it to keep track of current events. That made it an attractive place for news outlets to share their stories and reinforced Twitter’s moves to combat the spread of misinformation. But Musk has long expressed disdain for professional journalists and said he wants to elevate the views and expertise of the “average citizen.”
Musk has also abruptly suspended the accounts of individual journalists who wrote about Twitter late last year, claiming some were trying to reveal his location.
Twitter earlier in April removed the verification check mark on the main account of The New York Times, singling out the newspaper and disparaging its reporting after it said it would not pay Twitter for verification of its institutional accounts.
Twitter also used to tag journalists and other high-profile accounts with blue check marks to verify their identity and distinguish them from impostors. But Musk has derided the marks as an undeserved status symbol and plans to take them away from anyone not buying a premium subscription.
Shay Mitchell Reacts to Her Brand BÉIS’ Connection to Scandoval

No lie here: Shay Mitchell loves a marketing moment.
The Pretty Little Liars alum’s luggage company BÉIS recently had some fun on social media when Vanderpump Rules star Raquel Leviss was photographed with one of the brand’s weekender bags as she left castmate Tom Sandoval‘s home amid news of their affair. On March 30, the brand shared a non-sponsored image of Raquel loading the large tote into the trunk of her car alongside the caption, “We provide the bag not the baggage.”
Now, in an exclusive interview with E! News’ The Rundown, Shay weighed in on the buzzy post.
“I have an amazing team at BÉIS,” she told host Erin Lim Rhodes while celebrating Coachella at the Revolve Festival, jokingly noting that people “come up with the baggage and we provide the bags.”
The actress added that BÉIS has a lot of the VPR fans on staff who “tell me all the things,” even though she hasn’t personally been keeping up with Scandoval.
