Kourtney Kardashian Responds to Criticism Over Her Birthday Flowers
Ever wonder what the Kardashian-Jenners eventually do with the enormous floral displays they often receive as gifts?
Kourtney Kardashian has the answer. The Poosh founder, whose family is occasionally criticized by social media users over Instagram pics that showcase their lavish lifestyle, recently responded to one of several people who commented on her April 19 post about her 44th birthday. It contains videos of multiple massive floral bouquets that she received as gifts.
“What do you think they do with the flowers after they are looked at?” the person asked, to which Kourtney replied, “We donate them to the children’s hospital.”
This is similar to what her sister Khloe Kardashian has said their family does with food left over from their many parties.
“Serious question… what do y’all do with all the props, decor, and leftover food after birthday parties!!?” one fan tweeted in 2019. “I just watched khloe’s from last weekend, North/P’s the week before and Saint’s last night. It’s SO MUCH, I’m so curious! @khloekardashian @KimKardashian @kourtneykardash”
Alex Pettyfer and Toni Garrn Break Up After Two Years of Marriage
Alex Pettyfer and Toni Garrn are parting ways.
The model revealed in an April 21 message that she and the Endless Love actor, who share 21-month-old daughter Luca together, are divorcing after two years of marriage.
“Alex and I have made the very difficult decision to divorce,” Toni wrote on her Instagram Story. “We will continue our relationship as friends and co-parents to our angel Luca.”
While Alex has not publicly spoken out on Toni’s announcement, he took to his own Instagram Story April 22 with a photo of what appears to be Luca on a swing. He wrote alongside the snap, “Happiness.”
Prior to their breakup, Alex and Toni were first spotted together back in February 2019 at Elton John‘s Oscars party. Later that same year, Alex popped the question right before Christmas.
At the time, Toni gushed in an Instagram post, “Christmas Eve the love of my life surprised me on his knees asking me to be his forever. He changed my life the day we met and showed me what love really is – so yes I cannot wait to spend every day (well almost) of my life with you @alexpettyfer.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is directing the California Highway Patrol and National Guard to assist San Francisco authorities in combating the fentanyl crisis in the city.
The two agencies will be partnering with the local police department and the district attorney’s office to attempt to stem trafficking of the deadly synthetic opioid.
“Two truths can co-exist at the same time: San Francisco’s violent crime rate is below comparably sized cities like Jacksonville and Fort Worth — and there is also more we must do to address public safety concerns, especially the fentanyl crisis,” Newsom said in a press statement on Friday.
The four agencies are expected to “crack down” on crimes linked to fentanyl and increase law enforcement presence in public areas. However, Newsom’s office vowed that the operation will not target those with drug addictions and instead focus on drug suppliers and traffickers.
CHP will assist local police in drug trafficking enforcement in key areas of the city, including the Tenderloin district, where Mayor London Breed declared a state of emergency in December 2021 over crime and drug overdoses.
Meanwhile, the California National Guard will offer support in analyzing drug operations, with a particular focus on fentanyl trafficking rings.
Newsom’s announcement did not include details on the number of personnel involved, funding and what enforcement will look like. The governor’s office did not immediately respond to NPR’s request for a comment.
The multiagency effort comes as San Francisco grapples with an alarming rise in deaths linked to fentanyl, a drug known for being more potent and deadly than heroin.
In 2021, 474 people died from fentanyl-related overdoses in the city. Between January and March of this year, 200 people died from accidental drug overdoses, with a vast majority of deaths involving the synthetic opioid, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Matt Dorsey, a San Francisco supervisor, thanked Newsom on Twitter for providing the city “much-needed state resources to disrupt, dismantle and deter brazen open-air drug markets.”
State Sen. Scott Wiener said he also welcomed the coordinated effort, but also noted that the governor vetoed his legislation to create a pilot program for safe consumption sites in the city, the San Francisco Standard reported.

Joey Lucchesi pitches seven shutout innings after long absence from MLB as Mets crush Giants
SAN FRANCISCO — Joey Lucchesi just needed to keep the Mets in Friday’s game until mid-inning to accomplish his mission.
The Mets got the bonus package.
The southpaw, appearing in a major league game for the first time in nearly two years, now holds the accolade of pitching the team’s best game of the season with his seven shutout innings in Win 7 -0 from the Mets over the Giants. at Oracle Park.
Lucchesi not only became the first Mets starting pitcher to record a seventh-inning out this season, he placed an exclamation on his performance as he retired the side in frame.
In total, he struck out nine and allowed four hits and two walks on 97 pitches.
The solid outing provided a break for the Mets bullpen, which had received extended work in the previous two games.
The Mets won for the seventh time in eight games on this West Coast trip and won eight of nine games overall.
During the trip, they beat their opponents 53-29.

Lucchesi, 29, was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of the game to fill Carlos Carrasco’s rotation spot.
Carrasco was placed on the injured list earlier in the week with a bone chip in his right elbow and given a cortisone injection.
His return will depend on his ability to manage the elbow discomfort.
But Lucchesi became the latest piece of starting pitching depth – joining Tylor Megill, David Peterson and Jose Butto – to show he can hold his own.
Lucchesi last pitched in the major leagues for the Mets in June 2021 before undergoing Tommy John surgery that cost him last season as he recovered.

U.S. Marine gets 12 years for cross-border drug smuggling

SAN DIEGO — A former Marine who for years helped smuggle drugs from Mexico into the United States and even tried to get a song written to glorify his exploits was sentenced Friday to 12 years in federal prison.
Roberto Salazar II, 26, of San Diego was sentenced for importing fentanyl and for conspiracy to distribute heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl, according to a statement from the U.S. attorney’s office.
Salazar, who pleaded guilty last October, could have faced up to life in prison.
He was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. Prosecutors said that before joining the corps and while on active duty, he and couriers he recruited made dozens of smuggling trips across the border.
Salazar would obtain cars that were driven to Mexico, where drugs were loaded into the engine compartments. Couriers would then drive them back across the border into the U.S., prosecutors said.
The scheme began around 2015, authorities said.
By the time of his arrest last year, “Salazar had become so involved in drug trafficking that he was commissioning a Mexican songwriter to write a drug ballad known as a ‘narcocorrido about him,” the U.S. attorney’s office said.
“In one line that Salazar suggested to the songwriter, he boasted: ‘I wanted to study and became a soldier, but I liked the fast life better,'” the office said.
Some of the couriers recruited by Salazar were former Marines or classmates at Southwestern College in Chula Vista.
“This case involved a Marine who was supposed to protect and defend our country, but instead brought great harm to Americans by trafficking fentanyl and other dangerous drugs,” U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman said. “He also betrayed his solemn oath by recruiting other Marines to do the same.”
Manhattan DA and House Republicans resolve dispute over Trump inquiry
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg agreed on Friday to allow a former prosecutor in his office to testify as part of a House GOP investigation into the lawsuit against former President Donald Trump.
Bragg and House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, filed a joint motion on Friday that clears the way for Mark Pomerantz to sit for a deposition next month.
A spokesperson for the House panel said in a statement that the deposition was scheduled for May 12 after Bragg’s office withdrew his appeal.
Bragg sought last week to block material from the House Judiciary Committee’s investigation. In his lawsuit, Bragg alleged that the GOP-Jordan-led panel was trying to interfere with his lawsuit against Trump, calling it an “unprecedented and unconstitutional attack” on an investigation.
After a district court ruled Wednesday that Pomerantz should testify before the Judiciary Committee pursuant to a subpoena from the panel, Bragg appealed, temporarily blocking the lower court’s decision.
A spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said Friday that its efforts to temporarily block the subpoena “gave us time to coordinate with the House Judiciary Committee on an agreement that protects the privileges and interests of the district attorney”.
“We are satisfied with this resolution, which ensures that any questioning of our former employee will take place in the presence of our General Counsel within a reasonable and agreed timeframe,” the spokesperson added.
A spokesperson for Jordan responded, telling NBC News, “He would have gotten a lawyer anyway. Total area of effect.
Bragg’s office is suing Trump for his role in silent payments made near the end of his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump pleaded not guilty this month to 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Jordan said this month that Pomerantz’s previous role in the prosecutor’s office leading the investigation into Trump’s finances made him “uniquely situated to provide relevant and necessary information” to Trump’s investigation. his committee on Bragg’s lawsuit against Trump. Jordan also argued that Pomerantz previously shared information on the matter in a book and in media interviews.

Shannen Doherty and Husband Kurt Iswarienko Break Up After 11 Years
Shannen Doherty has called it quits with Kurt Iswarienko.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress filed for divorce from the photographer after 11 years of marriage, according to the court filing obtained by TMZ on April 21. Doherty listed January 2023 as the date of separation.
“Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted,” her rep, Leslie Sloane, told TMZ in a statement. “Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option.”
In the wake of the breakup news, Doherty also shared a cryptic quote on her Instagram reading: “The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness and total respect.”
