Daryl Devore's book was fantastic also it was probably one of my favorites of the set. I was crying at the end thinking the worst but it turned out great.

It is definitely an adults only version, but a great one at that! I loved that there was a bit of mystery added in and even though the names gave a bit away as to who was who, you still weren't sure who Red would finally have in her bed. The fact that this took place on a seniors cruise was an added touch I really enjoyed. And the roll play at the end of the book was just so fitting!! I would definitely recommend this title and I will be reading more from this author.

He held it high. On the sword were small red stones placed to look like a river of blood running from hilt to blade. "The abbot at Uplands told me if I was light then the traitor was darkness. I did not understand until I saw this sword—your sword." He pressed his foot harder on his brother's neck. "The abbot meant us—as brothers." He closed his eyes, gathered his thoughts, then spoke in a clear voice, "You ordered the raid on Uplands in order to breach a crack in Black Dorn's power. Cunning? Bah! Cowardly! You were not at the castle when I arrived. I traveled to Uplands to defend it. You ran and hid after ordering the death of my brother. You could not kill him yourself. Again, a coward. Branwyn is a complex character, who begins the book timid and modest. However, in Black Dorn, timid and modesty are two sinful attitudes. Quickly, she is thrown into a world of passion and sex. But she only has eyes for one man, Malack the Gon-Dra. He is fierce and does not hide his body or his lust. However, Branwyn catches his eye and soon his heart.

This was a quick read and I found myself up late at night to finish it. The kind of drama and love story that leaves you breathless and then sighing in contentment at the end.

I will definitely read more books by Daryl Devore.
