Hmmm - having a problem think of a scene where they gaze into each other's eyes. Yay - found a little scene.  From FL.E.S.H. - Flame is in the middle of her pole dance routine when she and Peyton lock gaes for the first time.



With a twist, she lowered her leg, turned so her back was against the pipe, and kicked off the stage. With her legs spread wide, the black crotch of her thong exposed to all, she swung around the pole. She slapped her feet to the floor, dropped to side splits, and humped the floor for several bars of music. When she raised her head, her gaze met two eyes staring intently at her. A small grin hovered over his lips. Forgetting her number one rule, she smiled back. He tilted his head in a small nod.

What people are saying about FLESH5 Star ***** This short story has all the qualities of a great story and it is all compacted in a manner that makes for a satisfying read. Ms. Devore has convinced me that I need to read more of her books, especially if they are written like this one was. One has the initial attraction between two people, their getting to know each other, the misunderstanding and the makeup between them...what more could one want???? Worth the read.

5 Star ***** Ms. Devore has done it again. As one of my favorite, and most anticipated authors, I found myself riveted to the characters and the surprising plot twist that threw me for a loop. I read all her books...what can I say.

Backlist but still sexy - A Kept Woman on Friday Snippets #FridaySnippets

 Picking up the remote with one hand and the coffee mug with the other, she alternated between surfing channels and sipping wine. She stopped at two naked females passionately exploring each other’s body. Blankly staring at the screen she finished the bottle of red wine, consumed her precooked, fast-frozen meal in a container and had changed to white wine, without noticing the difference. Tossing the empty dish onto the coffee table, the fork bounced off and landed on the newspaper. She bent down to pick it up. The ad she had read to Taylor caught her eye. “What the hell.” She picked her laptop up off the coffee table, typed in the website then clicked on e-box twenty four.

Hi. I’m Derek. I’m looking for a woman. I don’t want a girlfriend or a lover. Just a mutually sexually satisfying companion. The work will be minimal and the pay will be excellent. If interested email me your name, an introduction - 100 words or less - and a photo to entice me to hire you.

Arianne drank her wine and stared at the laptop screen for fifteen minutes while she had a mental debate. The “yes” voice in her head won out. The wine may have helped. She linked the digital camera to the computer then walked to her room and stripped. She stood in front of the small mirror and tried to choose her sexiest pose. Having chosen the conservative one of standing with her hands at her sides, legs spread apart; Arianne positioned herself in front of the camera and clicked the trigger. In a moment the picture appeared on the screen.

Appraising her body, Arianne smiled - soft curves, ample breasts and a neatly trimmed puff of hair below her belly button. It was a sexy body, not ravishing like a movie star’s, but it had enticed a few of the male gender. With some careful editing she deleted the background of the picture until all she had was a naked, headless picture of herself. She attached the photo to an email and began to type her message.

My name is Arianne. I’m 25 and recently unemployed so I’m ready to explore any job opportunity. Especially one that will pay an excellent salary. I keep in shape. She hit the send button. No turning back now. While online she did a daily depressing search of the job listings. As she was about to click off, she noticed her email icon was flashing.

A Kept Woman has just become one of my favorite books I’ve read this year. I know I’ve got several but from the blurb alone I was intrigued and had to know what happens next. When a blurb can give you loads of questions you are dying to know the answers too, you just know it has to be a good book.

The basis of a woman signing up for the job as a paid companion whose sole purpose is to please her employer and this develops into a love match may sound a little predictable but I can promise you, in my opinion there is nothing predictable about A Kept Woman.

There is a lot of sex within the story but I found it in no way distracted from the main overall story line.

Arianne starts of using all of her feminine wiles to lure Derek into falling in love with her becoming the ultimate catch as he is a wealthy man. The balance here changes when she suddenly realizes she doesn’t want to trap him or catch him but simply give him as much pleasure and all of her love possible.

I thought this was a wonderful story taking on a premise I thought could have been tricky. Excellent writing and wonderful character and as far as I’m concerned a keeper.

5 Star ***** I had never read any of Daryl Devore's books and man, am I glad I read this one! Peyton is the guy we all want and Fuchsia is a girl who is not giving up on her dreams. When the two collide, everything is turned upside down and the result is hot, but also laugh out loud funny. I will definitely have to read more of Devore's books!

5 Star ***** This is the first book I have had the privilege of reading by Daryl Devote (Devore). I'm hooked!! Peyton and Fuchsia's story was full of heat and love. Their playful banter had me laughing out loud. I would definitely recommend this book to my family and friends.

A continuation of the opening scene of BWNT. Darien is trapped in a bar and men are running around shooting people. Darien is hiding behind the bar.




Darien slid back, trying not to disturb the glass. He did his best not to yelp when a sharp edge sliced through the skin on his knee. With deliberate movements, he backtracked the length of the Black Dragon's bar. Squatting, he turned and peeked around the end, three men stood with their backs to him. Dressed in black pants and muscle shirts, each one held an assault rifle. A bleeding sun tattoo was visible on one attacker's shoulder. Daeng Arthit Triad. Not good. So not good. He looked forward. The kitchen door was six feet away. Six feet of wide-open, easily visible space. Darien sighed. It might as well be a six inches or a mile. He couldn't risk it. Wouldn't. He didn't want to get shot.What the fuck, dude? You're gonna die if they find you. Better to be running for your life than just lay here and let 'em kill you. Darien shifted his weight off a knee that was pressing on a piece of shattered bottle.That was the logical side of his head's opinion. The chicken shit side said, Stay here. Stay down. You're safe.A yell and several more gunshots drifted from the floor above. The three men pounded up the stairs.Without taking a moment to think, Darien bolted through the kitchen doors then skidded to a stop. The rancid smell of burning food and fresh blood hit him deep in the pit of his stomach. Four bodies lay facing him, eyes wide, but obviously unseeing. One of the chefs held a massive meat cleaver, clenched in his right hand. Never bring a knife to a gun fight. He shook his head. Quoting movies at a time like this? Focus.Heart pounding, Darien cast his gaze about the room, looking for an escape while his ears listened for the sound of running footsteps coming up behind him. Moving forward, searching for an exit and trying to keep his gaze from the corpses let alone not touch one, he fought the nausea of fear building.Please let this be some shitty nightmare and I'm gonna wake up in -- three, two, one. Fuck!

A yawn creeps up my throat and I suddenly feel like I haven’t slept in weeks. The temptation to curl up and go to sleep is strong, but my body is telling me I need a trip to the bathroom first.I head down the hall to the door at the end. It’s ajar, so I push the door open—and freeze. The bathroom is not empty.Howard stands at the sink, naked from the waist up, cleaning his teeth. Without clothing, his shoulders look twice as wide as before and every curve and dip in his muscles is clearly visible. Down the middle of his back is what looks like a big, black T. I have this crazy inclination to trace it to see how it feels. Howard clears his throat and my gaze shoots up to find him watching me in the mirror. “Do you mind?”He winks at me. Oh crap!“Sorry.” I pull the door shut. I’m mortified to have been caught staring. I also have butterflies in my stomach again, stronger than ever, and my heart is pounding. I fan my face with my hands in an attempt to calm myself down.Before I can get everything under control, the door opens and a still-shirtless Howard walks out. “All yours.”“Uh-huh.” I mentally slap myself for such an inept reply, but the view of him from the front is even better than the back. He has one of those washboard stomachs I’ve heard Gail talk about. I never understood what she meant, but now I can see how apt the description is. Once again, I find myself unable to stop staring. “Good night, Bethanie,” Howard says strolling down the hallway. “Howard? What’s the T on your back?” I ask, curiosity getting the better of me.He stops and half turns towards me. “It’s a tattoo, and it isn’t a T, it’s a crucifix.”“A crucifix?”“Yeah, it’s the cross Christ was nailed to. Brenda Dyers Love Comes Crashing In I loved the way the characters were best friends and end up together sometimes your best friend is the one you belong with.
D'ann Lindun's Falling Hard I love Cowboys enough said but Gage and Teagan were a great opposites attract storyline
Daryl Devore's book was fantastic also it was probably one of my favorites of the set. I was crying at the end thinking the worst but it turned out great.

 Wiping the raindrops off his forehead, Guy sighed. He was tired of being wet. Tired of being beaten. He turned and walked in the direction of the old shack. It slipped through his grasp, slicing his palm and fingers. He tried to grab another with his left arm, but he couldn't raise it. Unable to control the wild ride, he braced for impact. His feet hit. His knees buckled. A sickening crunch echoed in his head. Then the pain exploded. Mud poured onto him, damming up against the tree. He must get up or he'd drown in it. He tried to stand. The slightest movement of his leg caused shearing agony to bolt through him.He pushed up on his right hand. The weight of the mud pressed down on him. He didn't have enough strength to fight it. His elbow buckled. He smacked against the mud. Depression and defeat overwhelmed him. He was done for. A vision of Paix's smiling face filled his mind. She'd have read the messages by now. From my contemporary fantasy - Capri's Fate. This is a fun little snippet. Capri and Thall are on a yacht in the middle of the Indonesian Ocean. He slept on deck because Capri was scared and he was on guard duty. They'd had Italian for dinner and maybe too many glasses of wine.

Not Your Average Romance
Capri's Fate, a supernatural erotic romance by Daryl Devore is not my usual cup of tea. I don't usually go for a supernatural element in erotic fiction BUT as I read this book I was pleasantly surprised. Capricious Gray attends an erotic toy convention with a friend and brings home more than she bargained for. Thall is the half-human, half-immortal Fate assigned to watch over the bold and audacious Capri. He's also the love of her life, or will be, if Fate will have it.

Capri's Fate is the second book I've read by Daryl Devore. I very much enjoyed A Kept Woman: A Billionaire's Story so I took a chance on this one. I'm so glad I did. By the way, at one point in the story, Capri was reading a novel on her Kindle, which turned out to be another by Daryl Devore, Black Dorn. I loved this clever book plug and immediately bought that one as well.

I recommend Capri's Fate. It's not your usual romantic read and I think you'll like it.
