Quotey Strips
I seem to love to do strips littered with quotes. It's not that I'm a huge fan of quotes. If fact, I feel they get a wee bit overused, especially in novels. Not sure why so many authors feel the need to start every chapter with a quote, and in some cases, multiple quotes.
However, I find quotes used in comic strips hysterical. Setting up the punch line with serious and meaningful quotes is just funny.

A little geeky self indulgence
Sorry, but I adore the art from the "Brutal Legend" game and the book is hard to find. Mind you, I am a fan of the concept art, as I've never played the game. There's a self-imposed video game ban in my house. If there wasn't, you wouldn't be visiting this site and DeD would never have existed.
Anyhoooo, I found a bunch of concept art posted here:

Late post so I'll make it funny.

Style changes.
It happens when you draw something for an extended time. And it happens when you let it. My style on DeD is shifting. It started with working on the undercarriage of the drawings. And by that I mean the pencil lines. For a longtime I felt my pencils were getting tight and awkward. So I've made an effort in the past several months to keep them loose and get back to more of an animation flare to the lines.
And now my inks on top of the pencils are changing too. I've used mostly brushes for the past few years and now I'm relying a lot more on my small, felt tip pens. I still try to keep variations in all the lines when using the pens. I want the pen work to meet the brush strokes halfway so it's not as obvious. Just have to keep working and see how much the style morphs.

Faucet Parts
So my neighbor, who is a plumber, came by to help me out with some kitchen faucet troubles. man, talk about learning a lot in five minutes. My faucet is a Moen and come to find out you can call them for free replacement parts. And when you do call them you actually speak to a living person who keeps you on the phone for barely 5 minutes and then has the parts on the way to the house. That is a miracle. Needless to say, my next faucets will all be Moen's.

Boston Comic Con
I'll have a more official schedule of con appearances soon, but I just thought I'd put up the official notice that I will be at the Boston Comic Con. Hope some of you can make it. This con can be terribly lonely for strippers like myself. That and no one around these parts knows about DeD. However, they did change the venue to a larger and more open convention center so I hope that helps.
