P.s. Anyone know if this lovely cosplayer is still on here? I clicked the link to the original post and…well… Her tumblr doesn’t exist anymore. :(shes actually a tumblr friend of mine. she deleted her blog. she said she might come back. but she doesnt know when
I hope she does come back! Her cosplay looks awesome, here! :Doh what the hell..i know I said I wouldnt put my face on here for a while but everyones comments were so kind!
THANK YOU..you have no idea how much this means to me.
I deleted my original blog because I couldnt handle the large amounts of negativity that people were giving me about my cosplay and me in general and I wanted to start fresh..but you guys are great..you have restored my faith in the Tumblr community a bit.
thank you SO SO SO much!
You’re VERY welcome!!!
Oh! And If anyone tries to, even, place one iota of negativity on you, don’t worry; I’ve got your back!
:D
^Just needed to be reblogged, once again, for cosplayer awesomeness! :D^This is exactly what I was talking about in my earlier post: this woman loves Power Girl and she made an awesome Power Girl cosplay and she’s rockin’ it and looks fabulous and anybody who thinks otherwise ISN’T IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO HAVE AN OPINION.
Cosplay is about love. It’s about being a fan. It’s about enjoying something so much that it drives you to CREATE. It’s about being so in love with a character that you want to be them, at least for a little while, or at least look as awesome as they do.
If you’re using cosplay to be an elitist then you’re going against the very nature of it and you’re saying that only certain kinds of finds that you deem fit can do what you decide is okay. What does that sound like? A bully, that’s what.
Love a character? Then cosplay the hell out of them! Rock on! The OP looks awesome and I hope she posts finished pics when she’s done.
Couldn’t have said it better, myself! :DScrew the haters, & do what you love to do, no matter what. :D
THANK YOU GUYS!
SERIOUSLY..I just teared up a bit..
Welcome! Anytime! *Hugs!!!* :)You and this cosplay are wonderful, and you look amazing. There’s no doubt in my mind that Power Girl would be incredibly proud and honored by this. I don’t know much about Power Girl herself, but from what I do know she doesn’t seem to suffer bullies or idiots and neither should you. Anyone who gives you grief for this is not worth your notice and are really very pathetic. Both you and Power Girl are kickass awesome ladies.
^THIS.^Gurl you look fucking FABULOUS don’t worry about those poo heads
Ugh.. this totally just inspired me to finish my costumes for PAX. What a lovely woman. Some quality cosplay right there.
Glad to have her as a true source of inspiration! Can’t wait to see the photos of finished cosplays! I’m working on my 90’s Wondergirl cosplay, later today! :)
Fantastic cosplay!

Eleventeen MillIon People Have Asked Me Today...
…and my feelings haven’t changed an iota, if I ever shipped anything in the world of comics, it’s Clark and Lois. I’ve gone on record a million times about it, nothing’s changed.
I try never to prejudge a story, especially if I like and admire the creators. But I will always love Clark and Lois, to me, they are one of the all-time great romances and a huge key to what makes Superman an enduring legend.
This may be a great story, I don’t know a thing about it. But we all have our own headcanon and this is mine.
Gail, last night I dreamt of playing Boggle, but it wasn't ~playing Boggle~ but it was clearly implied it was supposed to be. I blame you.
I don’t know why, but the filthifying of a beloved family game makes me happy, somehow.
Hey quick question, "What's your opinion of the now defunct Wizard magazine?" I was cleaning out my attic and found a whole bunch, and Im curious what actual comic book writers thought off it. Thanks and I love your work.
Wizard was odd for a number of reasons. People who came late might not remember this, but it was THE tastemaker for mainstream comics for years, and rarely in a good way. It promoted a lot of junk for dubious reasons…it celebrated Pogs and variants and god knows what else.
And it had a seriously virulent streak of anti-female sentiment that never completely went away, even when the magazine grew up a little bit.
It was more like People Magazine than the Comics Journal. In short, it was mostly crap, promoting crap, in a crap manner.
All that said, I still had some fondness for it. When it was really popping, there was almost always at least a couple good articles and something funny in there somewhere. And it was fun, I admit, to see comics treated in that breathless manner…seeing excitement in print, rather than the usual ennui, that was enjoyable to me.
I also loved the big, beautiful pages of art, and the splendid photography of the collectibles. When I read Wizard before turning pro, which was rare, I had never been to a con, and Wizard made it all seem glamorous and entertaining in a way no other source has done, or even attempted.
And, because they would occasionally have a great editor, sometimes really good writers and artists were hired, and I do remember some really good pieces.
I think ultimately, Wizard relied on having a monthly price guide and a lively news section. The internet immediately started doing those things so much more quickly that every issue was dated weeks before it came out. And the excitement was no longer there.
Truthfully, I didn’t always love it. Sometimes I thought it was just hideous. But it was a lively, loud, exciting ambassador for comics to the non-comics reading public. I think its disappearance did hurt the industry…but Wizard did a fair amount of damage itself when it was still around.
I would like to see something like it return, but a little less problematic.
I should also add that they were never anything but fair to me. They publicized my books with regularity, they put me on their Top Ten Writers list more than once (something that I think had happened with only one other female prior), they interviewed me, they called me several times when they really liked an issue or I’d won another Wizard award. They were nice guys, very respectful.
I talked about the negatives, but I also think there is room in the industry for a big, loud, bright, shiny magazine of that nature.
So I would say, it had problems, but I was often glad it existed.

(A few of) the awesome...

(A few of) the awesome women of Birds of Prey. With bonus Creote and Savant!
Is today Make Gail Sad About The Loss Of Birds Of Prey Day?
Because MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. :(
I love all those dames and those two suave dudes in the bottom right!
I miss this comic. ;.;
You know, what didn’t hit me when I first looked at this cool collage…every one of those characters has a completely different personality from the others. Different motivations, different M.O.’s, different powersets and origins, different reactions to stress and adversity.
They are characters first and being female is part of that, not the whole of it. Nor are any of them written as a collection of male-driven cliches.
I’m not taking credit for that, I only created three of the women on that image set. They were awesome before I got them.
But it’s interesting, isn’t it? People used to think a book of female heroines could not sustain sales, but we did for five straight years, and the key is these amazing, amazing characters. There’s not a character on that page that I don’t love, that doesn’t speak to me in some way.
I think that, more than anything else, has been the secret to Bop’s success over the years.
AGV notes: The Top 5 Quotes About Rape from Republican Men
These are the best (worst) GOP rape quotes I could find - but message me if you have more. Let’s hold these people accountable.
1. Todd Akin: “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways of shutting that whole thing down” - mid 2012 Senate Campaign
2. Claytie Williams: “If it’s…
Good LORD.
Okay. I Give Up
I don’t watch a lot of television for a number of reasons, and when I do, it’s rarely anything current or serialized.
However, people have been bugging me to try Avatar for years now, and I give up, I will try it.
Is there more than one series? Is there an order beyond just watching the series in sequence?
Will I like this thing?
Someone Recently...
…asked me if I wanted to play Boggle and I started laughing out loud and they looked at me like I was deranged.
Lessons Comics Teach Me:
If you read Villains United and/or Secret Six on a long bus ride, people tend to stay away from you and give you odd looks.
Thank you Secret Six for scaring people. I have a lovely seat by a window all to myself.
Wow, that’s a helpful tip. I’ll have to tell my son that, he rides the bus all over the place and sometimes there are…people who are not pleasant to be around.

What are your favorite monthly comics, DC or otherwise? What is your favorite series of all time?
I have lots of monthlies I love…but I do get behind and read a bunch at a gulp. There are a bunch of bat-books I love. Dan Slott’s doing a great Spidey, Waid on Daredevil, Rucka on anything. I love Demon Knights. I’m reading several pulp and horror books; The Spider, The Shadow, Godzilla.
My all time favorite series are HATE and CEREBUS, I think, both complete masterworks. I learned a TON from each of them and will never touch what those books accomplished.
