Are you and Brian Michael Bendis in a competition to have the best Tumblr? Who would win?

Brian wins, I love all the art he has posts.

I've noticed you typically refer to women and girls as 'female,' but men and boys as men and boys, guys, dudes, etc. Is there a reason for that? Thanks and hoping to see you back on some Marvel titles in future!

Huh. You know, I am not sure. Hmm.

But I do refer to females as “guys” and “dudes” a lot.

I will give it some thought, thanks!

Hey Gail, out of curiosity, have you read the original Heinlein novel Starship Troopers? And do you think that there's any truth to the idea that it was pro-fascist?

I haven’t. I know a lot of people are huge fans of Stranger in A Strange Land, which I absolutely loathed as a kid.

So it kind of turned me off Heinlein and I don’t know anything about the rest of his work.

Poor, poor Dizzy. She really did get the shaft in that movie, didn't she (no pun intended)?

She was the only character in the thing I actively LIKED.

Given that the last woman he hooked up with nearly got their whole team killed twice, I’d say that Knockout’s opinion of Catman’s love life is more than fair…

SCANDAL IN A TUX

Dancing with her gorgeous girlfriend

YES

Yes perfectly dressed queer superhero ladies get on my blog now please :D

It’s funny, but two of the all-time biggest email responses we got in the entire series that we weren’t really expecting were;

1) Bane and Scandal sleeping in the same bed with Bane nude and Scandal in her boxers, and

2) This scene of Scandal dancing with her girlfriend while wearing a tux.

We got a FLOOD of mail on both, not a single complaint that I recall (except for a couple people who misinterpreted that Bane and Scandal had had sex, the had NOT).

It sounds funny to say now, but some of this stuff hadn’t been seen much in mainstream comics at the time even though this was just a few years ago. I’m glad to see progress is being made!

I think both twitter and tumblr have the ability to be very toxic, but it greatly depends on what type of social circles you keep. Tumblr feels like a more accessible version of Livejournal, where depending upon who you follow/where you go, you can be larg

I actually am finding message boards to be more toxic right now, not all of them, but a bunch are really vicious and fraught with racism, misogyny and homophobia. It makes me feel bad to read them so I mostly quit going.

There are definite exceptions, not trying to paint them all that way.

I would literally cry with happiness if you ever ended up writing for Deadpool or Agent X again. We miss your wonderful characterization. And Sandi and Outlaw! Marvel seems to have totally forgotten these rad ladies even exist.

Outlaw has appeared a few times, I am told.

Deadpool and Sandi and Tasky and Agent X are WAY up on my list of characters I would like to write again.

Just curious: Have you ever pitched a company-wide "event" story like "Forever Evil" or "Infinity"?

Sorta, I had one called Dark River that was a very cool idea…but it didn’t quite come together in time.
