I'm disabled with mobility issues (but not a wheelchair), and as much as I love Oracle for giving me a voice, I wouldn't feel comfortable cosplaying her. There's a big difference between visible paralysis and the 'invisible' health problems I suffer from.
Thank you for ringing in.
It’s complicated stuff, I don’t feel remotely qualified to even offer much of an opinion.
On the one hand, cosplay is fantasy and I feel like these characters belong to everyone. On the other, there’s such history of pwd people being played by non-pwd actors.
I appreciate everyone chiming in.
Well! I'm genderqueer and I personally consider Ragdoll to be genderqueer; I have a headcanon that he really doesn't feel especially male or female & he mostly got his bits removed for aesthetic reasons BUT it also generally felt more right to him. IDK why
This is a great answer, thank you.
I'm a recent convert to comics. I always loved the mythologies of comic books, but, being a gamer with a budget, I never had much extra cash to spend on comics until recently. I just finished reading Secret Six, and was wondering about Junior (yes, that
I really don’t like applying trans labels to Junior or Ragdoll. I know a bunch of trans folk have adopted one or both of them and I am delighted about that. But I don’t want to apply those labels to those two characters because Ragdoll is cartoonish and Junior is just plain evil. They were clearly intended to have some gender fluidity. If there were lots of trans heroes and supporting characters out there, we could have gone down that road. There would have been balancing portrayals. But neither was created with that idea in mind and I would have hated for the only trans characters in mainstream superhero comics to be murdering fringe characters. I hope I am expressing this well.
I’ll ask the folks out there. Do you consider Ragdoll or Junior to be trans?
Settle a long-running argument between my fiancee and I; how old is Scandal? I always assumed that she's just as old as she looks, but my fiancee figured that Vandal's conquest of the village was about a hundred years ago.
I always had her at around eighty years old, but that got contradicted a little bit in the ACTION crossover. So I don’t know the definitive answer, would have to reread the stories. I believe Paul Cornell’s story made her much more the age she looks, right?

*I guess Helena sorta doesnt belong there but I wanted to do her first so she goes on =)
** had lots of fun doing these =D
I would buy that Huntress hoodie so fast my credit card would melt.
I've recently started devouring your run on Birds of Prey, and at this point It is my favourite comic series I have read. But I was just unclear, when Dinah took out that small army as part of Shiva-training, was she forced to kill some of them? The art
I don’t believe she killed anyone, but I think she was near the point where she was prepared to.
My thing with Dinah and Wonder Woman both is, they are warriors of SUCH a high level that they don’t NEED to kill. Aside from moral issues, they would consider it a personal failure.

Black Canary is also one of the charter members of the secret espionage team, THE BIRDS OF PREY, which later added such members as Huntress, Lady Blackhawk, and Misfit!
