Who Is Coming To C2E2 In Chicago?
It's finally announced that I will be a Spotlight Guest at one of my favorite conventions, April 13-15, C2E2 in the great city of Chicago!
Some of the nicest people and coolest stuff to see in the area, I absolutely love this city and get a warmer welcome nowhere in the world. Come say hello!
Okay if this question has been answered anywhere...well, I've been out of the loop on comics news due to schoolwork lately. Anyway, are there any plans to compile your entire Secret Six run in one big trade?
I don't believe so…I wish!
The issues are hard to find and some are very expensive. I hate to advocate digital over comic shops but in some cases, it's the only way to easily get the issues. :(
In the interest of fairness: which male Marvel character do you think is as tasty a piece of eye candy as Nightwing? I may be a heterosexual man, but I'm a Marvel zombie first and foremost, and I think it's high time women started ogling my favourite unive
I always thought Angel was cute, and Blade is grrr.
Let's see. Gambit, Iron Fist, Black Panther, oh, and my all time Marvel crush when I was a kid…?
Nightcrawler.
You may commence making fun of me now.

When reading Secret Six with the idea that Catman was bi, was that little argument he had with Nightwing in the issue with him, Bane and Rag Doll something that was written with that in mind?
Abso-posi-lutely.
Rumours are that the increasing size of Powergirl's chest is pretty much an in-joke on the creators and editors side of things... is there currently some sort of similar in-joke for Nightwing and the frequency in which his butt is shown?
I am not really aware of the Powergirl joke, to be honest. Not sure if that's true or an urban legend. But as for Nightwing's butt, I think it's perfectly okay to have a guy who functions as a great character AND a lovely bit of eye candy. Lord knows there are enough female characters who have been treated that way for decades.

Scandal Savage
A lot of good things came out of Secret Six. I wish I could tell you guys what that comic meant to me without sounding like a total crazy person, but I don't think I'll ever be quite that eloquent. But a funny, violent, emotional book about a group of rejects and outcasts really spoke to me, and Scandal Savage was kind of the rock in the center of that group. She was always the least ridiculous, the one treated with the most gravity by Gail Simone, and rightly so. As the daughter of Vandal Savage, she had a hell of a rough upbringing; she kicked the most ass, dated a chick from Apokolips and a banshee (although she and Jeanette weren't together during Secret Six, it's pretty heavily implied that they have a romantic past), and just generally held it together when everything was falling apart around her. Because she's fucking awesome and I love her. And life won't be the same without those goofy freaks in my pulls every month.
Fuck you, DC…
Well, I really appreciate the kind words and I'm very happy she meant so much to you. I miss her too.
To be fair, we did get to have almost fifty issues of that book (including specials and minis) and that's pretty rare for a non-icon book these days.

(I wrote about my love of Scandal ages ago, if anyone cares to read it!)
I think she might be my favorite character I've created. She makes everyone around her better.

From Wonder Woman by Gail Simone and Bernard Chang.
This moment between Wonder Woman and Donna Troy chokes me up every time I read it. Simone perfectly captures the human heart within Diana here, and shows where her priorities are and the boundless love that ultimately drives her.
As a big sister myself, this page will always choke me up.
Hint to writers who say they don't "get" Wonder Woman:
It's all in her name.
