Whose Costume is the Best?

No, I'm not hosting a costume competition. Well, not exactly. I'm asking about your household. If you're a mom, do you put more into your kid's costumes thank yours? (assuming you dress up) Or are you the over-the-top costume-er in your house? No kids? Do you try and out-do your co-workers?

Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn (right) and Padawan O...

Qui-Gon is on the right

Personally, I love Halloween, and I almost always dress up some. I've got all kinds of costume stuff socked away – an old poodle skirt, a clown costume, Star Trek uniforms (TNG), and...

Trick or Treat or Stay at Home?

Trick or Treat!Image via Wikipedia

A big question facing parents every Halloween is: Do I stay at home and hand out candy or take the kids Trick or Treating? I like going around the neighborhood with my kids. I love the decorations and seeing my neighbors. Fall evenings here in Northern California are mild, and ...

Unintended Sex Ed

Many romance readers (and writers) are a little hesitant to admit that they read books that include hot sex scenes. Pulling out a book with a nearly naked man (Like Lori Foster's yummy book) or a woman about to bust out of her bodice to read at the kid's dentist office can be kind of…awkward. Especially when the child next to you – yours – starts reading over your shoulder.

Embarrassing or Public Service?

If you're like me, you immediately slam the book shut and hide it away. Or pick up a...

Indonesian magazines at a kiosk in Jakarta.

So even though I don't read many, when it came time for my son's annual magazine drive, we had no problem filling up his list with renewals.

How about you? What magazines do...

Monday Funny

Some nerdy fun this morning: A literal interpretation of computer problems.

Isn't it funny to see how much technology has influenced language? What computer terms tickle your fancy when taken out of context?

Thanks to my friend Kim for pointing me to this great video. Happy Monday!
