For International Peeps
Originally, I was only going to limit the contest to US and Canada entries, simply because of the cost of international flights and all the other things to take in consideration: passports, potential customs issues, entry and exit of the states, and all that jazz. That’s a lot of money and a lot of responsibility. However, I have come up with an alternative. Please see the guidelines before for International entry. DO NOT enter the contest unless you can accept the guidelines. I do not want to award this prize to a winner who cannot attend the event due to International travel issues.
An international winner will be awarded a $700 voucher toward airfare (the approximate cost of a US city to US city flight), and the winner will be responsible for the remaining cost to travel into the US. Before entering this contest, ask yourself if you have the funds to cover the rest of the trip. Check out rates. Get information. DO NOT enter if you cannot purchase the rest of the ticket.
International winner must have a valid passport and meet all traveling requirements that are set forth by the United States Government.
This is a prize package that averages between $2,000-$3,000 when its all said and done. It’s huge. It’s epic. It’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun in New Orleans.
Your hotel room is already booked.
Your flight is waiting for you.
Your registration is pending.
So what are you waiting for?

Sentinel Release Day, MISC stuff, plus Blogger stuff…
First off, before I forget, I have a contest winner to announce! Congrats to Eleanor! You should have an email from me.
And now on to Sentinel….
I was on an airplane when Sentinel went live digitally in the U.S. When we touched down and I powered up my cellphone, I got all excited by the tweets and messages about reading Sentinel. On release day, I was attending Houston Bookrave, which was AWESOME by the way and Trini, Yara, Damaris, and all of those behind the scenes did a GREAT job with the event. I haven’t been able to respond to the messages about Sentinel and the end of the Covenant series, so I wanted to take a moment and say thank you for all the wonderful messages. Writing Sentinel wasn’t easy. So far, it’s been the hardest book to write since it is the end for Alexandria Andros. I think she had a good run and I hope her story has many re-reads in the future.
Don’t forget the Sentinel and Frigid release party. There’s a very special announcement that will occur at the signing. I think some of you may be happy to hear it

Which brings me to my last thing I wanted to talk about, sort of announce. I can’t think of the Covenant Series without thinking about bloggers. People heard and read the Covenant series because of bloggers/reviewers getting behind the series and spreading the word. It’s the same with all my books to be honest. Any success they have acquired can be directly contributed to bloggers and readers, so the last couple of weeks I’ve been toying with this idea that I ended up telling Vilma from Vilma’s Book Blog about, and decided I needed to get off my rosy rear end and go ahead and do it.
I don’t think people, even me, realize how much effort goes into running a review blog. Something that was reinforced this weekend when Vilma was telling me how three nights a week she’s up until 2am or 3am doing posts, announcements, and what not for her blog. Vilma is also married, has kids, and a full-time job. And I was thinking, holy shit, I don’t even stay up to 3am to write the book she’s posting about, and I was all like…
Oh, and review bloggers don’t make money off the reviews. Some might have ads and some get a ton of books from publishers, but in the end, the publisher and the author get more out of the exchange, at least in my opinion. Why? The power of word of mouth, good and bad, typically equals sales. Word a mouth starts in the blogosphere and of course there is the normal reader word of mouth that is as powerful as Apollo on a really sunny day.
There’s also a lot of bloggers out there, big, HUGE, small, tiny, and just starting out. So many that I don’t think bloggers, authors, and publishers even know about. I and I’m sure, a crap ton of other authors wish there was something huge we could do for bloggers, because we fangirl over you guys as much as you fangirl over us.
So my idea, and it’s not something huge or earth shattering amazing, but something I hope you guys enjoy. I want to start a weekly post on my website that’s dedicated to getting to know a different blog review site every week that involves learning about the blog, the peep behind the blog, getting word out to authors, publishers, bloggers about said blog, and also featuring a giveaway (handled by me) unique to that blogger.
It’s going to be really simple to sign up for it. All you will have to do is fill out the Getting To Know You form, which asks 10 questions about you and your blog, and I will take care of the giveaway and what not. You will receive a email before your post goes live.
So, yeah, it’s not a big deal, but it’s something I’d like to do, because there’s many of you that I’d like to get to know better myself. I imagine there has to be other people. Here is the LINK to the form again. Please read instructions carefully and DO NOT submit twice.
Oh. And I finished edits. So I’m starting to write Opposition tomorrow and…

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! In honor of the coolest holiday out there, I’ve dug up the Kat and Daemon go costume shopping!
“I’m not wearing that.”
Daemon’s extraordinary green eyes, the color of dew-covered grass, flicked away frommy scowl to the black and red scrap of cloth he held in his hands. “What’s wrong with this?”
Did I really need to spell it out for him? Yep. “That is barely enough clothing to cover my stomach, let alone any other part of my body.”
“I don’t see a single problem with that.”
I folded my arms and leveled a stare at him.
“What?” One side of his lip curled up as he lifted his other hand. Two fury black ears were attached to a rhinestone headband. “It even comes with ears and a cute tail. A kitten costume is perfect for my Kitten.”
Shaking my head, I turned back to the rack of Halloween costumes and started flipping through a various selection of sexy animal outfits. “I am not wearing anything that has a tail.”
He circled an arm around my waist and his breath was warm against my neck. “I think it’s a perfect outfit.”
Turning my cheek, I sucked in a sharp breath when his lips brushed my cheek. “So you’re okay with me wearing something that my butt and boobs will be coming out and saying ‘hello,would like to have a cup of tea?’ to everyone?”
Daemon stiffened.I tipped my head back, meeting his gaze. His eyes were narrowed, and I grinned. “Didn’t think so. Moving on.”
He was silent for a whole second. World record right there. “How about you buy just the ears and wear them for me? Later.”
Turning in his embrace, I cocked my head to the side. “Just the ears?”
The grin he wore now was half challenging and half sin. “Yeah. Just the ears. Absolutely nothing else. Okay. Maybe heels, ‘cuz that would be sexy. It can be our own person trick or treat.And I promise you, I’ll have a big treat for you.”
My mouth dropped opened. So did the older lady who was holding a nun outfit behind him. She sucked in a huffy breath and muttered, “Well!”
Daemon glanced over his shoulder and then shrugged. “Or not.”
My face flaming, I smacked him on his rock solid chest. “I can’t take you anywhere.”
His deep chuckle sent a shiver down my spine and he leaned in, kissing my cheek. I hurried around the rack before I turned into a total puddle of goo or we started making out in front of everyone and the baby Jesus costume. Spotting a purple fedora and fluffy scarf, I yanked it off the rack and whirled around.
“How about this for you?”
Daemon’s brows shot up. “A pimp outfit? Seriously?”
Giggling, I stuck in back in the rack and then pulled out another one. “What about this?”
“A priest outfit?”
“Well, you are so very modest.”
“Ha. Ha” Daemon took the costume from my hand and put it back. “I don’t think there is
anything—whoa, look at that.”
“What?” I turned, following his gaze. Up on the shelf was a mask with two flesh-colored plastic ears attached to a mask that was brown on one side and white on the other. I said I wasn’t wearing ears or a tail, but this… oh no, this was so different. “Oh, sweet baby aliens, is that whatI think it is?”
Daemon edged around me and reached up, yanking the full outfit down. Lean muscles of his back flexed under the black shirt, almost distracting me from what he held in his hands. I hopped up to his side, clapping my hands together like a seal on crack. He was trying not to laugh. “Yep, I think it is. Or you have to pee. One or the other.”
I ignored that, my eyes focused on the cute white dress with brown arms and a ring of brown fur along the bottom hem. It even came with white socks with brown trimmings.
“The official Gizmo costume,” Daemon said, reading the tag. He cleared his throat.“Excuse me, the official sexy Gizmo costume. Well, that’s kind of disturbing. Since when is Gizmo sexy?”
“I have to have it,” I said, making grabbing fingers. “Gimme.”
He handed it over, and I clutched it to my chest. I was about to make a mad dash to the cash register when I noticed pointy green ears, reptilian like, poking out from behind the rest of the Gizmo costumes. My eyes bugged and I darted around Daemon, grabbing the costume. Whipping around, I shoved Spike, the Gremlin costume at Daemon. “You have to get this. We could be Gizmo and Spike. And you like Spike, remember? You said he was a badass.”
“He is.” Daemon frowned. “But this looks like pajamas.”
“But it has a mohawk. Win.”
“I see.” Daemon shook his head, sighing. “I can’t believe I’m considering this.”
Considering this meant he was going to do it, probably with a lot of complaining and sulking, but he’d do it, because it was Daemon.
He’d do it for me.
Stretching up to the tips of my toes, I kissed his slightly parted lips. “Thank you.”
His eyes flashed an intense shade of green as he lowered his head, pressing his forehead against mine. When he spoke, he lips brushed mine. “You’re so going to owe me for this.”
“You’re right.” I grinned, taking a step back. Turning around, I picked up the furry black ears and faced him. “I’ll buy the kitten ears too.”
Daemon’s lips parted. “And that’s all?”
“That’s all.”
*Special thanks to Doris for finding the perfect costume for Daemon and Kat*

Bitter Sweet Love

~~~
The round boyishness of his face had been smoothed away in the last three years and replaced with hard lines. His jaw was cut, cheekbones broad and high. There was a slight hook in his nose, as if it had been broken and not set correctly. His brows formed graceful arches over his eyes and his lips appeared fuller than before. A traitorous thought seeped in: Were his lips as firm as they looked? Those lips weren’t pulled into a smile, and Dez had always smiled for me. They were parted now, and as I dragged my gaze to his, I realized he wasn’t the boy I’d fallen in love with.
Dez stared back at me, pupils slightly dilated and starting to stretch vertically. Shock splashed over his striking face, and I couldn’t understand why he was so surprised. I hadn’t changed in the three years he’d been gone. Well, I wasn’t as naive as I’d been then and my breasts were most definitely bigger. So were my hips.
His gaze dipped for a fraction of a second, and my eyes narrowed. Irritation pricked at my skin. Was he seriously standing here checking me out? But my annoyance warred with a sense of heightened awareness that I was unfamiliar with. Warmth flooded my veins as his gaze met mine. Electricity sparked in the air between us as our stares locked.
Dez moved so quickly that I didn’t even have a chance to prepare myself. One second he was a foot from me, and the next, his hand cupped the back of my head, his fingers threading through my hair.
11 Fake FAQ
Or in other words, questions I don’t get asked frequently enough.
1. Who is currently your favorite unattainable, never gonna happen, crush?
Theo. James. Those eyes. Those lips. That bod.
2. If you had a pet mogwai, would you feed it after midnight?
Snort. Of course. I like me some mohawked gremlins. And the one with the crazy eyes. They kind of liven up the place, ya know?
3. Do you believe in ghosts?
Yes. I kind of do. I grew up in a house where strange stuff happened all the time. Once, when I was 14 years old, I was so scared, I slept in my mom’s bed. No lie. Our family home used to be a funeral home and was built during the Civil War and was used as a hospital. There was a tombstone found in a well under our deck. So yeah. Creeeeepy.
4. Where don’t you still watch The Vampire Diaries? Isn’t Ian Smexysmolder hot enough?
Even Ian’s Smexysmolder couldn’t save me. See, I have this thing with what I call unacceptable levels of angst. The moment the sire bond was announced, I was like “I’m outie!” Every once and around I tune in, and literally have no idea what happened if I blink an eye. I mainly check in on Ian. See what’s up. How’s he doing. Make kissy faces at the screen. Question why Stefan has air bubbles while under water if he supposedly doesn’t need to breathe, but can drown, but obviously does breathe because hello, there’s air bubbles… and he’s like drowning, but he’s a vamp –OH MY GOD, MY BRAIN HURTS.
Vampire mermaids for then win!
5. What do you watch instead?
Toddlers and Tiaras. No poop. That’s what I’ll watch On Demand instead. Or World’s Dumbest. Or whatever else is on TV. Or maybe just watch the episode of Walking Dead again.
6. What do you think happens when a super popular TV shows airs and half the populace of mankind threatens to burn down Twitter if someone posts a spoiler, even a vague reference to Raining Zombies, even thou the super popular TV show Twitter account is posting more spoilers than the zombie body pile up during the season 2 finale?
We don’t think. We know. An angel freaking loses its wings and plummets to earth in a fiery ball. And I’m not talking hot Hush, Hush angel either. Not only does it loose its wings. It gets ugly. The incessant tweets made Patch ugly. It’s official. Dies.
A puppy also cries. Rainbows start farting. The angel now has genital warts. And the whole damn world collapse due to a real zombie infection.
7. What is resting bitch face?
Inevitably it is a picture someone takes of me while I’m on a panel and I have no idea that someone is taking my picture and then tags me on Facebook, therefore leading me to realizing I have resting bitch face.
8. If a woodchuck could chuck wood? He would chuck, he would, as much as he could?
Chunk on these XXX (fill in the blank)! Okay. That’s immature of me. But I can’t even believe I typed out that damn question. Seriously. Also, must remember I have young readers,therefore resorted to Triple Xing out ehem, walnuts.
9. Do you have willpower?
Oh, my God, no. Not at all. Like when I say I’m going off social media for a while to write, I just don’t actively engage, but I lurk, because the Internet is shiny and pretty. So I’m a lurker. A lot. Once, I used Write Or Die and let the stupid time run out just so I could hear the noise it made. I’m not even close to kidding on that. If I close down Internet tabs, I open them back up. And I should be writing right now, so…..
10. What is an irrational fear you have?
Oh Jeebus, I don’t have one. I have a fear of bridges over water when traveling by car, I don’t like layered food, and I am petrified of waking up in the middle of the night and having a ghost face two inches from mine. I gave that little fear to Avery in Wait for You, but seriously? Could you imagine rolling over, stretching happily, blinking open your eyes and a ghost seven year old kid with an axe in its head is staring at you and asks if you want to play bury the hatchet?
Picture it.
Right before you go to be tonight.
Then tell me if that’s not scary.
And finally….
11. What is something weird that’s happened to you lately?
Two things. I was recognized in Target picking up allergy meds from the pharmacy because, you know, apparently I’m gonna go make some meth with sudafed, and the pharmacist recognized my name. Besides the fact I hadn’t showered yet and was all snotty, all I could think was thank God I’m not picking up herpes meds or something.
And recently, I fell asleep during a Walking Dead marathon and then woke up and heard all this creepy moaning. It took me forever to realize where it was coming from. Needless to say I felt stupid.
Quick Reminders and all that Good Stuff
I’ve been getting a lot of the same questions lately, so I figured an update/reminder post would be helpful. I also decided to throw in some Supernatural gifs for the hell of it.
1. ARCs
ARCs are Advanced Review Copies that are sent to professional review sites/magazines/bookstores/libraries/ and bloggers. I DO NOT send out ARCs for review nor do I take requests for them. My publishers (Spencer Hill Press, Entangled, Harlequin Teen, HarperCollins, and Disney/Hyperion) all have instructions on their websites on how to request ARCs. The advanced copies I receive I usually give away in contests. Not everyone is approved for ARCs and I don’t get involved in that process because I couldn’t get involved for everyone and that wouldn’t be fair.
2. Opposition
Opposition comes out August 5, 2014. Its book page is updated with it’s release date. I don’t know when the cover will be released, but it probably won’t be until late spring/early summer of next year. As of today, October 25th, I haven’t started to write Opposition. There will be limited teasers of this book. And there will be no ARCs of Opposition as it’s the last book in the series.
P.S. Blake is dead, dead and Katy and Daemon will NOT have a baby.
3. Reading order of novels
All my books are in reading order on my website, on the “Home” page and on the “Books” page. I’m too lazy to type them all out here. Hey, there’s a lot of books.
4. Obsidian Film option Stuff.
Film takes a whole lot of time and a whole of people. When I have updates that I can share, I’ll scream them from the top of my lungs from the highest mountain and every social media site there is. It’s still chugging along. Keep in mind, it was only just option in July 2013. I will have no say over casting.
5. Covenant TV option
TV also takes a long time and a lot of people. There are also no updates I can currently share about that, but also keep in mind it was just optioned in September 2013. We be waiting.
6. Tempting the Bodyguard
Tempting the Bodyguard is written. It’s about Chandler and Ms. Gore. Sometimes release dates get pushed back. This book has been moved to May 2014. Good news is that I have a CRAP TON of books coming out between now and then. For realz.
7. Cursed.
Cursed is truly a standalone. I’m not lying. =D
8. Why didn’t so and so not use a condom in so and so book during so and so scene?
Man, a lot of people are obsessed about condoms and what not. When I’m writing a book, I try to keep aspects real. People don’t always use condoms. It’s a fact of life and since I don’t write manuals on how to have safe sex, well you know… Also, sometimes I just don’t include that part in the writing. It’s just assumed that they are.
9. Trust In Me
Trust In Me is available in digital right now and releases in print on November 26, 2013. As it states in the product description, it is Cam’s POV from Wait for You plus unseen scenes.
10. Be With Me
Be With Me is Jase and Teresa’s story. Comes out 2/4/14 in print and digital and all that jazz. You will meet the characters featured in Stay With Me in Be With Me.
11. Ollie and Brit
As announced, they have a short story in the 50 First Times antho. It’s up for pre order and all that jazz on Amazon and B&N. Check it out.
12. Foreign countries
Authors can’t make a book be translated in a foreign country. A foreign publisher has to want to buy and distribute the book in that country. That is also another incredibly slow process.
13. Are you going to kill Alex, Aiden, Daemon, Katy, Raphael (OMG NO, DEAR GOD- Not that TURTLE!!!!), or Seth or Dee or whoever?
Yes. I am going to kill everyone. I’m going to JK Rowling these bitches like there’s no tomorrow. Remember Harry Potter owl? Yeah, turtle soup, ya’ll. Everyone dies. Stairway to heaven up in here. Characters be dropping like flies. Or like big boulders falling off mountains. Or.. Or… like stuff. Why? Cuz I’m a gangsta.
Not really.
14. Can I call you Jenny?
Oh, Hell to the No. I loathe being called Jenny. That’s not my name and if you grew up during the era of Forrest Gump, you’d understand.
15. Sentinel
Sentinel is the last book in the Covenant Series and comes out November 2nd in DIGITAL and print. None of the Covenant books in the U.S. have ever been up for preorder for digital. But it will be there for you on the 2nd. =D
That’s all I can think of right now. Also, almost all these questions (most of them) and more can be found in the FAQ questions tab. So always check there first. You’ll get an answer pretty darn quickly that. way.
Now I need to finish writing this book.
I’m so excited that Trust In Me is finally live and you guys get to read Cam’s side of the story and read some never seen before scenes.
“I’ve missed you, Cam.” The tip of her nose brushed mine. “Haven’t you missed me?”
I closed my eyes as I wrapped my fingers along her slender wrists. “I have.”
“Good,” she murmured.
Her lips grazed mine once and then she kissed me softly. There was nothing like her kisses, especially when our positions were flopped. She pushed, working at the seam of my lips until I opened. The taste of her clouded my thoughts. I didn’t realize she had let go of my face until I felt the tips of her fingers slipping under the band of my nylon shirts.
My grip tightened around her wrists as I lifted my head. “Avery, maybe we—”
“Maybe you should let me do this.” Her chest rose sharply as her gaze dipped. There was no hiding that I wanted her to do this. The corners of her lips spread into a winsome smile. “I think you really want me to do this.”
“I do. God, I do, but—”
She silenced me with a kiss that told me that I needed to let her do whatever she wanted to do. Removing my fingers one at a time, I dropped my hands to the sides.
This was all her.
Avery broke away and then placed a kiss on my chest, above my heart. I tensed as she tugged my shorts down. Loosened, the shorts pooled on the floor in a second.
I let go as she shook her head and was in the process of heading upstairs to wake up Jase’s lazy ass when Teresa came in the front door.
“Cam!” She let out a high-pitched squeal when she saw me in the foyer and dropped her book bag. The pint-sized terror took one step and launched herself at me.
Laughing, I caught her before she knocked me down. “Well, hello to you.”
“When did you get here?” she asked once I sat her down.
“This morning.”
She smacked my arm. “You should’ve texted me! I would’ve skipped my afternoon classes and come home early.”
“I heard that!” yelled Mom from the kitchen.
Teresa rolled her eyes, and I laughed. Somewhere in the last two years or so, she’d grown up from a gangly child into a stunning young woman. And every time I saw her, I wanted to pull a paper sack over her head. Everywhere she went, guys looked, and they really looked.
She had inherited the dark hair and blue eyes from Dad, but she had Mom’s delicate features. Her beauty and small frame were really misleading, because she had also developed mom’s snappy, quick wit. When she and Mom got going, no one was safe.
“I’m going to skip dance tonight,” she said, tugging the tie from her hair. It seemed to have grown overnight, falling well past her shoulders.
“You don’t have to do that,” I told her. “I’ll be here all weekend.”
“Yeah, but I never get to see you!” She pouted, giving me the look that probably got her a lot of things. “You’re too busy and too cool to hang out with your sister anymore.”
“Exactly,” I said, grinning.
She smacked my arm hard. “Jerk.”
Facing the stairs, I saw Jase come down before Teresa did. He was as quiet as a freaking ninja and he came to a stop at the bottom, his hair damp and clothing unwrinkled. He hadn’t made a sound, but Teresa stiffened in front of me. Her eyes, so like mine, widened a fraction of an inch.
My gaze narrowed on her.
Teresa whipped around with the elegance of a dancer, and I cringed when she shrieked, “Jase!”
The pensive look that had been on Jase’s face from the moment I picked him up vanished like a bad nightmare. He came down on the landing a second before my sister threw herself at the guy, greeting him in the same way she’d done with me. His eyes were only on her, and while I completely trusted Jase, even he wasn’t immune to her.
I also didn’t like it when he wrapped his arms around her, keeping them both from tumbling backward.
“Cam didn’t tell me you were here!” she cried, clinging to him like a little monkey. “You’re staying here the whole weekend, too?”
Jase smiled down at the top of Teresa’s head—the head that was currently plastered against his chest. “Yeah, I’m here until Cam heads back.”
I knew in that exact moment, Teresa would be bowing out on dance not only tonight, but also the rest of the weekend. I sighed.
Teresa said something that only Jase could hear and his smile spread in a way that had me taking deep, even breaths. Then he looked up, his gaze meeting mine. He shot me a helpless look, and I rolled my eyes, strolling forward.
“Okay.” I grabbed her arms, physically lifting her away from Jase. “I think you can let him go now. He probably wants to breathe at some point.”
Jase laughed as Teresa shot me a look that promised death and dismemberment and yanked her arms free. I stepped back, just in case she was going to try to hit me again. My sister had muscles.
