Don’t Look Back is out!
Today is the day! Don’t Look Back releases!
For me, this story started all the way back in November 2011 when I pitched the idea to Kevan Lyon on the phone. She loved the idea, so I wrote the book in November/December. It ended up selling to Disney/Hyperion in January of 2012, and what some people might now know is that Don’t Look Back was the first contemporary book I ever wrote and the first romantic suspense. So I am super excited that this book is finally out and I hope you guys enjoy!
To celebrate the release of Don’t Look Back, I have a contest for you!

The Falconer!
I’m so excited to help show off the trailer and excerpt for one of my favorite YA reads of this year, The Falconer by Elizabeth May. This book about killed me. In a good way.
Debutante by day. Murderess by night. Edinburgh’s only hope.
Edinburgh, 1844. Beautiful Aileana Kameron only looks the part of an aristocratic young lady. In fact, she’s spent the year since her mother died developing her ability to sense the presence of Sithichean, a faery race bent on slaughtering humans. She has a secret mission: to destroy the faery who murdered her mother. But when she learns she’s a Falconer, the last in a line of female warriors and the sole hope of preventing a powerful faery population from massacring all of humanity, her quest for revenge gets a whole lot more complicated. The first volume of a trilogy from an exciting new voice in young adult fantasy, this electrifying thriller blends romance and action with steampunk technology and Scottish lore in a deliciously addictive read.
THE ROMANCE. SIGH.
Want more? I got more for you. An excerpt.
The Falconer by ChronicleBooks
Now you really want more, right? That’s cool, because Chronicle Books has three ARCS of The Falconer up for grabs. This is US only giveaway as it’s been run by the US publisher. No frownie faces! As you know, there are ton of International giveaways on my blog. Plus The Falconer is already available in the UK and some other countries.
Random side note of the day. This is Elizabeth May.
To some of you, she might look familiar. Especially those in the U.K. Why? She’s the cover model for one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE series, The Demon Trapper’s Daughter. So I like to think of her as Riley. As if Riley wrote a book. =D Now where in the hell is Beck?

Update
So I got an awesome update to share with you today.
No. No. It’s not Theo James. I just wanted to do a random Theo James gif. Feels like It’s been too long since I did one.
As you guys know, the Covenant Series was optioned for TV, and as I’ve been hinting toward, things have been progressing. I can finally share this with you.
“THE COVENANT, USA today bestselling book series, from USA Today and NY Times bestselling author Jennifer Armentrout, with industry veteran Harry Werksman hired to pen the TV adaptation.”
This is another huge step in many steps. I have spoken with Harry, and I’m absolutely thrilled that he’s signed on for the adaptation. When they said he’s a veteran of TV, they are not kidding. Not only has he worked on shows such as Castle, Moonlight, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and many, many more, he sincerely loves the series as much as I do and I know the series is in his epic, talented hands.
Squee!

Don’t Look Back Teaser and Giveaway!
We are about 15 days for the release of Don’t Look Back, a YA romantic suspense novel! Which also turns out to be the very first contemporary I ever wrote, very first suspense novel, and my first book releasing in hardcover.
April 15, 2014!
I got another Carson teaser for you guys.
~~~
Chewing on my lip, I read the entire menu three times. Coffee—my choice of coffee— should be simple, but it wasn’t. I felt…lost.
“Hey,” Carson said from behind me, his breath warm on my cheek, causing me to jump. “You doing okay?”
Feeling my cheeks burn, I nodded.
A man behind me sighed, muttering. I heard the words stupid and rich tossed about. My mortification level soared to new heights.
Carson pulled me out of line, shooting the guy a dark look of warning. “What’s your deal?” he asked.
I glanced down at where his hand wrapped around mine. How could such a simple touch feel sweet as sin? Probably not the best thing to be thinking about given I couldn’t place an order for coffee.
“Sam,” he said, impatient.
Lifting my gaze, I was horrified to feel tears building. “I don’t know what to order.” My voice cracked. “I don’t know…what I like.”
Understanding softened his jaw, and he nodded. “You usually drink a latte—vanilla.” He paused, dropping his hand. “I’ve seen you drink them. Stay here and I’ll order.”
I waited off to the side while he placed the order. People were staring at me. I felt like a child, unable to complete the simplest task. I wanted to crawl into a hole somewhere. There was no doubt in my mind that Carson thought I was an idiot.
When he returned with my drink, he popped the lid on the cup. “Careful. It’s hot.”
“Thank you.” I wrapped my hands around it, welcoming the warmth slipping through the java sleeve.
~~~
And I have an awesomely awesome giveaway for you!

Lux Series: Beginnings
Today is the day we revealed the cover for the Lux Series Beginnings bind up. Yay!
Beginnings is Obsidian and Onyx combined with bonus content. It will release on June 3rd, 2014 in print. If you’re new to the series and curious about the bind up, you can go HERE to read more info about it.
Ah, it’s so pretty and I want to pet it. What I love about this cover is that we have Katy front and center, and since the story/series is really about Katy, especially through Obsidian and Onyx, I love that she is finally represented on the cover.
Here is the description for those who are new to the series:
Obsidian
There’s an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he’s hot…until he opens his mouth. He’s infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bulls-eye. Turns out he has a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal his abilities and the only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.
Onyx
Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
Next Monday, the cover for Lux Consequences (Opal and Origin w/ bonus content) will be revealed.
You can enter to win some cool fan art!

Hey. You’re in a book. Did you know?
When I randomly decided to hold a contest where people could submit names to be in a book I was working on, I probably didn’t think that all the way through. LOL. I really wasn’t expecting to get over 1600 responses. Luckily I have great friends who’ve been keeping up with the suggestions and what not.
You guys ready to find out?
All of these names were picked randomly with an exception: If the name was already used in one of my previous books (in a major role) I obviously could not reuse the name.
The lead female name will be:
Mallory Dodge.
Mallory, I need you to email at jenniferlarmentrout@live.com with her addy so I can keep it on file for the ARC, whenever that happens.
But since there were SO MANY submissions, I decided we needed more than one name. So the following people will also be featured in the book and get a shout out in the acknowledgements.
Angela Dettloff submitted the name Ainsley Stewart
Alicia submitted the name Keira Hart
Paige submitted the name Paige Howard
Rosa Newport submitted the name Rosa Newport
Rhea Sawhney submitted the name Rhea Martinez
THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE FOR SUBMITTING A NAME! I hope to do this again since it seems like many people wanted to do it.
PS. Thanks to Buzzfeed for a whole new slew of Theo James gifs.

Eyeballs Update
So I figured I’d give you guys an update on my whole “eyeballs are crazy” issue. Before I get into the quick update, I wanted to thank everyone who commented on the post, emailed, and messaged so many kind words.
It’s kind of a good news/bad news thing and I’ll get the bad news out of the way. The Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) diagnosis was confirmed through followup tests. It was discovered that I’d lost roughly 30% of my peripheral vision. The odd thing is… I really didn’t even notice that. Until now. Now, I’m all like *shifty eyed* about things around the sides of me.
Good news is that, as far as I understand, people are born with RP and while any vision loss sucks donkey butt, losing only 30% of side vision is hopefully a good indication that deterioration will continue, but be slow and not rapid. I will be doing a recessive gene test in the near future, and no, I really have no idea what that involves. I’m hoping they discover I’m a mutant. Anyway, the recessive gene test will help map out what to expect in the near and distant future.
I’ve discovered it’s one of those things that no one really knows what will help or when it will happen, how fast or slow it will be, how much and so on. So I’ll have my vision checked every six weeks for changes and that’s about all I can do. Well, I have to take steroid eye drops three times a day, and that right there is an ADVENTURE for me. Every time I whip out the bottle, I’m all like this:
I have gotten more eye drops under my eye and above it, instead of in it.
I debated doing an update, because it’s seriously something one can’t really dwell on, but I know many had asked for one, so there it is. Again, thank ya’ll for all the super nice and super supportive things. You guys are amazing.

Wanna be in my book?
Sometimes I run out of creativity when it comes to picking character names. After all, that’s why three of my male leads have names that rhyme (Aiden, Daemon, and Hayden), or I write about three brothers that all have names that start with ‘C’ (Chad, Chase, and Chandler).
Picking female names for characters is even harder for me, especially since I tend to lead toward names that can be abbreviated into male names for some odd reason.
So I thought I would let you–one of the readers–pick the name for an upcoming book I’m going to write. Of course, whoever submitted the name would get an extra special shout out in the acknowledgements and once this book is sold (yes, this is a new book that has not been contracted), the person who submitted the name would be one of the first people to get an extra special print ARC of said book.
So here are some general guidelines and what not:
You can suggest any first and last name–must be both.
You can submit YOUR name. If you do submit your name, you are giving permission for me to use your name in the book.
Needs to be a girls name. I already have the boys name.
All you have to do is leave your submission in the comments on THIS blog post–not Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, my chalkboard, email or any other form.
My assistant and I will pick a name. You have until this Saturday (March 22nd, 2014) 11:59pm EST to submit the name.
Basically, if you submit your own name and it gets picked, you virtually get to be the main character in my book.

Don’t Look Back teaser and giveaway!
We are under a month before the release of my YA Contemporary Thriller/Mystery/Suspense/Romance.
Haha. Why don’t I just call it romantic suspense for YA.
Don’t Look Back was actually the first contemporary I’d written… all the way back in November of 2011 and it was the book that landed me my agent Kevan Lyon and sold to Disney/Hyperion in January 2012.
I remember sitting at work back then, writing the first paragraph and thinking, what in the holy heck am I writing?
The main character Samantha is one of my favorite characters I’ve created– her story, outside of the suspense aspect–was a tough one to tell. And Carson Ortiz? He’s also probably one of my swoon-worthiest characters.
And now I have a teaser for you, one that introduces Carson, a.k.a. Car

Someone cleared his throat.
We twisted around and…wow, just wow. My jaw hit the bedspread. There was a tall boy standing in the doorway to my bedroom. Dark brown hair fell over his forehead and curled around his ears. His skin was deep, almost olive in comparison to my paler skin, hinting at a Native American or Hispanic ancestry. His cheekbones were broad, giving him an exotic look, and his jaw was strong, clenched tight. The long-sleeved shirt he wore stretched over his broad shoulders and biceps. His body was purely athletic, slender and yet muscular.
A black baseball cap dangled off the tips of his fingers, forgotten. Our eyes locked, and I felt a stirring in my chest. His were a magnetic, intense blue. The color of the sky right before the day ended and night took hold—the color of dusk. There was stark relief in his gaze, also a wariness I didn’t understand.
“Is that my boyfriend?” I whispered, hopeful and scared all at once. If he was my boyfriend, I had no idea what to do with him. Well, I did—I suddenly had lots of ideas that involved kissing, touching, and all sorts of fun things, but he was…mouthwateringly gorgeous, and that intimidated the hell out of me.
Scott choked on his laugh.
The boy in the doorway glanced at my brother and then at me. Heat crept across my cheeks. The relief was still in his eyes, and my lips split in a hesitant smile. He was happy to see me, but…but then his eyes hardened into chips of ice.
“Boyfriend? Yeah,” he said slowly, voice deep and smooth. “Not even if you paid my tuition to Penn State next year.”
Stung and embarrassed, I jerked back, and the question came out before I could stop it. “And why not?”
He stared at me as if I had an arm sticking out of my head and waving around. He turned to my brother, brows raised. “I’ll be waiting outside.”
“Sure, man, be there in a sec, Car.”
“His name is Car?” I said, folding my arms.
Vehicle Boy stopped and turned back around. “Car, as in Carson Ortiz.”
Oh. That made sense. I lowered my arms, feeling about nine kinds of stupid.
Carson’s eyes narrowed. “She really has no clue about…about anything?”
“Yep,” Scott replied, lips pursed.
He started to turn again but stopped once more. Muttering under his breath, he looked at me. “I’m glad you’re okay, Sam.”
Before I could even respond to that, he was gone. I twisted toward Scott. “He doesn’t like me.”
Scott looked like he wanted to laugh again. “Yeah, he doesn’t.”
A weird, twisty feeling sprang in my chest. “Why?”
Pushing off the bed, he sighed. “You don’t like him.”
I didn’t? Did I not have taste? He was baby-making material. Then I frowned. How did I know who was baby-making material? “I don’t get it.”

It’s so pretty I want to pet it!! The back jacket description has also been released. It is a bit spoilery, so if you haven’t read White Hot Kiss, I suggest that you do not read further.
Every touch has it’s price.
Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could.
But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay…
