Migrating and Awards

I received a bit of good advice once from a man who doesn’t like me. He told me “social media platforms come and go, but your website… well, that’s yours.”

Indeed it is. The past 72 hours I’ve seen multiple utspoken friends banned from using Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook under what a lot of people are terming “digital red flag” reports. Basically, people are finding someone they don’t like and then spam reporting the person’s comment as harassment or for it being inappropriate. One author...

Still Awesome

The talented design team over at Mottfolio Design came up with this amazing design header for me.

Love their work. The news is still shocking, to say the least. They say I’m a huge long shot but then, I did happen to be in a movie titled 50 to 1 a few years ago. Perhaps a little of Mine That Bird’s luck will rub off?

2019 Dragon Award Finalist

Yeah, you read that correctly. My novel, Sons of the Lion, is a 2019 finalist for Best Military SciFi or Fantasy novel. What’s really cool/interesting is that I didn’t even campaign for it! Hell, I didn’t even nominate myself.

I have the world’s coolest fans and friends. Thank you all for your support. Don’t forget, anyone with a valid email address can register to vote HERE. You can register to vote all the way up to Aug 30 at 11:59PM Eastern.

I’m up against some stiff competition (and far...

WyvaCon 2019 AAR — Food Poisoning Edition

This week has sucked. Last weekend I got food poisoning while in Virginia Beach (I did not know that you are NOT supposed to eat a steamed mussel that had not opened, who knew…) and I’ve been battling all week to be remotely human for WyvaCon this weekend in Wytheville, Virginia. I’m not sure how long this convention has been around but it’s the second year I’ve attended and, as always, the little con that could shone like a diamond in the rough once more.

Despite it’s small size (or perhaps...

Back to the Grind

Those first two weeks post-Libertycon are always rough. I already miss my friends and family, and coming back to work simply bites. On the other hands, bills and stuff still exist, so it’s back to the grind.

However, I did come out of that weekend with a new book contract, signed and delivered last week. The novella, with two other authors featured within, will be titled Sha’Daa: Zombie Park. Many of you know or remember the short stories I’ve had published in the Sha’Daa series, most notably...

Libertycon 32 AAR — Blond Edition

Libertycon 32 technically ended Sunday, but quite a few of us hang out until Monday to see old friends and catch up with new ones (you’d be amazed at how many new friends you can walk out of this convention with). Since a lot of us also do the “Well, let’s get there Thursday to start partying early” as well, you can imagine that this is nothing but one great time to be had by all who attend.

As is usually the case, if I forget someone or something it’s not you, but me. My memory sucks, and I...

June Birthday Month

Though I’ve been busy, I do have some really cool things to update all of you on.

First off, the second book in the Kin Wars Saga came out today over at Audible. DARKLING picks up not too long after the events which set the entire stage in WRAITHKIN, and continues the adventure of the Espinoza family as they struggle to hold the nation they call home together. It is read once again by the amazing , who is a new actor in the movie industry. I was lucky to snag him before he gets hu...

We Dare & Sons of the Lion Are BOTH Out!

The past nine days have been tremendously exciting for me. First, a little over one week ago, SONS OF THE LION was released and immediately shot up the charts. The sales for it are still going strong, and the reviews have all been positive as readers are reintroduced to characters they’d only seen in short stories. Writing the novel to also include events which occurred in other Four Horsemen Universe books was a challenge, but I think it came out rather well. The momentum is continuing to in...

One More Day

My new job has been kicking my butt lately so I haven’t been writing as much as I should. However, that doesn’t stop the release of books I’ve already submitted to the publisher. Tomorrow, SONS OF THE LION finally drops. I’m super stoked about it. It’s my first novel set in the Four Horsemen Universe and continues the adventures of the Kakata Korps, Earth’s first Liberian-based Mercenary Company in the 4HU.

Still working on both WINTERBORN (Book 5 of the Kin Wars Saga) and VINDICATOR (Book 3...

Another Cover Reveal

This month is crazy!

WE DARE, an anthology created and edited by Jamie Ibson and Chris Kennedy, is being released on May 31, a week after SONS OF THE LION comes out. I have a short story in WE DARE, taking place during the creation of the Wraith program in the Kin Wars universe. For astute readers, there is a name drop in the story which you would be familiar with in HOMEGUARD. Here is the cover of WE DARE in all its glory.
