On the Margins
So, just when PayPal decided not to attack print erotica through Smashwords and many other venues after all, Amazon has decided marginalizing homosexual relations is okay. Amazon, which keeps insisting, #Amazonfail after fail, that it is gay-friendly and good people and really it's not our fault it just happens.
Bullshit. You want to be assholes, Amazon, it's your right. But stop effing lying about it, will you?
This pisses me off. How many times do we have to fight this crap? To me, it's...

Tag, I'll Do It!
Blame Murphy. I'm not usually one for joining memes but this sounded interesting, and I wanted to blog anyway.
So the way it works: answer the questions, come up with eleven of my own, and tag more people to keep the game going. Sort of a chain letter but more interesting.
Right then. Here goes.
1.) Which one of your characters is your favorite to write? Why?
Oh, start with a tough one! Ouch! Umm…that changes depending on who I'm writing. I love writing Taro because it's so easy. Just charge f...

The Random Research Stage
I'm working on Lukas and Alan for Goodreads. I'm researching a lot of things I didn't know I was going to need to know. Rescued Greyhounds. Old cemeteries (and the difference between a cemetery and a churchyard!) Lightning strikes, Chinese Crested dogs, and the Underground Railroad.
It's a lot of fun. It's also slow going, because every few paragraphs there's something to know that I don't know. (The characters are mostly college students with completely different interests from mine, and I...

A Brief Whine
I need to accomplish something, but every time I try, my cat(s) gets in my way. Or my kid starts talking to me. Or my headache steps up a notch.
Normally I hate to complain. I figure there's no one out there with a shortage of whiny people in his/her life. If someone wants to listen to negativity and complaints, they have plenty of options and I don't need to be one more voice in that.
But today I have little else. This week has been frustrating. My recovery from last week's illness has been...

First They Came for the Erotica Writers…
Quoting an email from Mark Coker of Smashwords:
In case you haven't heard, about two weeks ago, PayPal contacted Smashwords and gave us a surprise ultimatum: Remove all titles containing bestiality, rape or incest, otherwise they threatened to deactivate our PayPal account.
Smashwords has built their site around PayPal. They are negotiating, but PayPal holds all the cards.
Big deal, you may think. Who wants to read about bestiality, rape, or incest?
Well…ever read paranormal romance? Werewolves ...

I Hate Being Sick
Though, you know–I'm not sure anyone actually likes it, so it feels silly to say that.
Anyway. Two days of headaches, dizziness, and tummy troubles. Lots of sleeping, and a marked lack of ability to focus. So my new story has not progressed as I hoped it would. Sigh.
I'm just gonna be grateful this is a very rare thing for me. While I possibly stumble back to bed.

New Story! Again. Oops, Except Not Really
I love writing. If you've been here more than five minutes, you probably know this.
So I'm excited to announce that the Goodreads M/M Romance group is doing another writing/reading extravaganza (the same sort of event that caused the conception of Romeo and Julian) and I am again participating.
I can't wait to introduce everyone to Lukas and Alan.
In the meantime, this song is on heavy rotation as I try to get my muses all pulling in the same direction.

My Brain is a Compost Heap
And no, I don't mean a sewer, though anyone who's been around me a while knows I spend lots of time in the gutter.
I was thinking of this today as I stumbled about YouTube looking for the music that Kolya will blast when he needs to escape. If you're wondering why I'm poking at Kolya when I said I didn't want to…well, it's because I decided to work on Romeo, fanfic, and getting some bits and bobs done. So naturally I'm working on a major project, exactly what I decided against.
Anyway. My...

Business Cards?
So Vistaprint.com will send me 250 cards for free (though it'll cost me $2 to keep them from printing their ad on the back, and $7 postage.)
Anyone know a reason I shouldn't go for it?
Critiques of the card also appreciated!

Dithering About
So. I've got Queen's Man headed back to me next week, but in the meantime I don't have anything to work on. And even once I've got Joss back, it's a polish edit. Getting too creative is a bad idea, as there comes a point in any creative work that one is just messing it up. But I've had lots of vacations lately. I need to be working on something.
But.
I don't actually have a writing project jumping on me right now. Don't need to get anything ready for the next TDP slot. So there's no outside...
