I don't really get why Trump and his ilk are so upset with immigrants in this country. I mean, do they really want wages to go up?

When I was in my 20s, all of the summer employees in Custer State Park were American college kids. In our boring little resort town, we looked forward to Spring and the new influx of college babes to pursue unsuccessfully. Today, all of the low-level employees in the Park are immigrants, many of whom are specifically imported from overseas by the Park concessionaires. They work cheaper and tend to be more reliable than American help, and that is good for the economy. It means more tax revenue which can be spent on those Americans who “can’t” work, on their welfare. Bernie says he wants the government to pay for everyone’s college and wouldn’t that be something? The only way that can be done, however, is if American business and industry are strong and profitable, so that the government can confiscate much of their earnings via taxes. Cheap immigrant labor can go along way in providing that.

Trump is a great sideshow and I love how he’s got the Republican Party shitting in its pants, but I don’t really think he’s thought about his position clearly from an economic standpoint. We have an ever growing class of people who need to be on welfare, especially if we’re going to pay for their higher education now, too. At the same time, there are millions of people in the world who want to come here to work. Let ‘em. America needs serfs!

I live in a town of about 80,000 now, and know of dozens and dozens of Americans who live off welfare. More power to 'em, I say. They are the new Nobility. I know of many immigrants here, too, mostly Hispanic and Eastern European, and they all have jobs. It’s really not rocket science to figure out who’s supporting who.

The simple fact is even in 2015 America, somebody is going to have to do the shit work and we can’t expect all these art and design and women’s studies majors to do any of it. They’re all going to have "careers”. Nor can we expect the people who are counting the days until their food stamps come through. They’re too busy insisting nothing is their own damn fault.

So the next time you see someone cleaning a public toilet, go up to them and thank them. If they speak back to you, you may have difficulty understanding them, due to their accent or lack of English proficiency.

Sure as shit, though, they understand you completely.

How come you never see golfers smile?

It’s cuz they’re dead inside.

……

My friend Tanner has recently become a golfer and I told him that joke and he didn’t get it.

He will, though. Just you watch.

Thank you for following me, first of all.

I have been divested most brutally of late because I refuse to hold orthodox views on feminism.

This is why I have stopped following people back: they’re just going to unfollow me anyway when they realize I am not a part of their echo chamber.

But, I have a few drinks in me. True, you, too, will eventually unfollow me, but I really want to amp it up this time. The fact that I’m not your echo chamber isn’t enough. I want you to truly hate me.

If I can make a random, anonymous internet person TOTALLY hate me, then I have actually achieved something.

I’m not sure what, but it has to be something.

It has to.

My neighbor has a new girlfriend. I can tell by the extremely mechanical sex they just had. Seriously, it was like a metronome.

Normally, the sound of people making love turns me on, but in this case I just felt like synchronizing my watch.

Venezuela’s currency is worth less than a napkin - CNNMoney

“Last year, inflation rose 68% in Venezuela, and some non-government economists have said inflation could hit triple digits this year. That makes it harder for the government to pay for food imports, and harder for ordinary citizens to find things like napkins.

Venezuela’s president Nicolas Maduro isn’t helping the cause. He’s continued massive government welfare programs that his predecessor Hugo Chavez began.

The country’s lifeline of growth – oil – has lost a lot of value this year, forcing Maduro to go to other OPEC members and ask for cash.

Maduro has also arrested political dissidents, created a currency system with three official exchange rates (not including the unofficial one) and blamed outsiders like the U.S. government for the country’s economic woes.

Maduro did make one reform that Venezuelans like: they can finally buy U.S. dollars – sort of. Venezuelans can buy up to $300 a day, but only $200 can be in cash and the other $100 must go to a Venezuelan bank account.

That exchange can be done under one of the official rates, called SIMADI, and is about 200 bolivars for one dollar, well below the unofficial rate.

Venezuela must pay $5 billion in debt payment in October. As its oil profits have dwindled, experts say Venezuela could default on its debt later this year.

It’s not an unlikely outcome, especially when its own citizens see so little value in their currency.”
