use your American and European brains to increase
Do not hesitate to use your American and European brains to increase, that
is Krishna's special gift to you, now use it. Any activity which will please
Krishna should be accepted favorably, this is our guiding principle. Now
apply it in this way, by doing everything and anything for spreading this
Krishna Conscious literature, and this is really pleasing to Krishna, know
it for certain.

Get real ananda with Krsna
When you join with Krsna in His rasa dance as gopis, or as cowherds boy,
play with Him, or become His father and mother, Yasoda, Nanda Maharaja,
Yasoda-rani, or become servant, or even become like water Yamuna, or land in
Vrndavana and trees or fruits or flowers, any way, or cows and calves, join
with Krsna, then you get ananda, real ananda. Anandamayo 'bhyasat
(Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12). Sac-cid-ananda-vigraha [Bs. 5.1]. That is the
description in all Bhagavatam, how Krsna's associates are enjoying life.

Decorate Him and be decorated
When one's face is decorated with a garland and sandalwood pulp, the
reflection of one's face in a mirror automatically becomes beautiful. The
original source of everything is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is
our original source also. Therefore when the Supreme Personality of Godhead
is decorated, the devotees and all living entities are decorated
automatically.

Accepting a Service in Which Guru Doesn't Engage In
Question:
Can an devotee accept service that his guru doesn't directly engage in? For instance, I am very much inspired by Indradyumna's Maharaj's festivals. I think such festivals have a broad reach to masses. I don't like the cultural part of these festivals, but the philosophy and prasadam and kirtan can really get people intrigued.
Some time in the future I would like to organize such festivals and do mass book distributions. However, for that I would need a lot of training from Indradyumna Maharaj even though I am aspiring to serve you.

no hospitals in ancient India
Srila Prabhupada once said, "Did you ever notice that in old India, in the
old remains of the architecture, that there are no hospitals? Why do you
think that there were no hospitals." I said, "Well, less people were sick."
He said, "They had sufficient money. They built wonderful temples out of
stone and they also had Vedic knowledge, medical science. So the reason was
that they were simply interested in cultivating Krsna consciousness."
Told by Tejiyas Prabhu

1. What is the ego?
2. What are the symptoms of the ego?
3. What is the nutrition for the ego?
4. Where does this ego stay?
5. How to kill this ego?
6. How can we divert ego to Lord's service as we try to divert our anger in the service of the Lord?
7. Does this ego also exist in the spiritual world?

I am very glad to learn that you are holding kirtana on the university
campus; do it nicely. Do not bother your head about that rascal Maharishi
Mahesh. His activities are like the waves tossing foam on the ocean. It will
stay for some time and then vanish. For the time the ocean appears to be
all-devouring but in proper time it is calm and quiet. Krsna consciousness
isn't like that. It is a great science. It requires great spiritual asset to
adopt the principles. You have desired to meet with Maharishi Mahesh for
argument, and as Lord Caitanya argued with Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya.
Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya was talking on the basic principle of Vedanta. So
there was a via media interpretation. This man does not follow any sastra or
any authority. He is authority by himself, and has manufactured his own
meditation process. Therefore, he is not standard. We cannot waste our time
with a non-standard loafer class man. Therefore, do not agitate your mind in
this way. We are following the footprints of Lord Caitanya. We are not going
to become God, as Maharishi says every one of us is God. You should be
firmly convinced in your own philosophy, Bhagavad-gita, otherwise you may be
misled. Why don't you try to convince the followers of Maharishi that they
are following a rascal, a cheat. Because he does not follow a standard
process.
So try to understand the followers of Maharishi, how far they have advanced
in spiritual consciousness, and get it corroborated from the teaching of
Bhagavad-gita as you learned. Lord Caitanya talked with Sarvabhauma on the
basis of Vedanta-sutra. The Maharishi has no basic principles; he is
manufacturing his own way. So it is useless to talk with him. He has
gathered the not very intelligent class of men, and they will not stay. We
are teaching Bhagavad-gita As It Is; that is called Krsna consciousness. Why
don't you try to understand Maharishi from the point of view of
Bhagavad-gita.
