Srila Prabhupada on TV: “London is hell”

Any country which does not get the full facility of sunshine, it is to be
considered condemned. I think I remarked this long ago, when I first came in
the television. They asked me in London that “What is your conception of
hell?” And “This is hell, London.” Not conception. Practically… Always
dark, moist, drizzly. No sunshine. Cloudy, misty. Simply big, big buildings.
That’s all. So there must be clear sunshine.

You have asked how you can thank me. Whether you thank me or not, if you
understand the importance of this Krishna Consciousness Movement, that is my

thus remaining like animals. The animals cannot be happy but people want to
keep themselves like animals. For peace they are barking in the United
Nations. Croaking toads who think they are making a big conference, and then
one day the snake of death comes and swallows them up.

Question:
A devotee told me not to sing "Jaya Srila Prabhupada" before Srila Prabhupada's guru-puja and said it should be done only
at the end of guru-puja. Shall we do like this?

Srila Prabhupada's message to Americans

…in America — I always say that you are born in a rich nation's family,
your country is not poor, there is no scarcity, but you should take
advantage of it. Don't spoil your life because you have got so much money
for nothing or every enjoyable thing. You should always think, "It is all
Krsna's mercy that we have got this opportunity. We are honored as
Americans." Now because the Americans, they have misused their opportunity,
now they are degrading. To save your country, take this Krsna consciousness
movement and enlighten them. Enlighten them. That is your service, actually
service of the country. Push this Krsna consciousness movement. They have
got good opportunity. And it will be very successful, materially and
spiritually.

We must always engage in Krsna consciousness

Because we are in ignorance, maya, at any time we may forget Krsna.
Therefore we must always engage in Krsna consciousness so that we shall not
forget Him. That is indicated by Kuntidevi by the words
sravana-smaranarhani. The word sravana means "hearing," smarana means
"remembering," and arhana means "worshiping the Deity of Krsna." One should
always engage oneself in hearing about, remembering, and worshiping Krsna.
All the centers of the Krsna consciousness movement are opened only for this
purpose — to facilitate chanting, dancing, and worshiping so that we shall
not forget Krsna. Sada tad-bhava-bhavitah: [Bg. 8.6] if we always think of
Krsna, there is a chance that we shall remember Krsna at the end of life
(ante narayana-smrtih [SB 2.1.6]).

Son worships father-cockroach

You have constructed this skyscraper building. Live here forever. Why don't
you live? Kicked out. In the same house can become a cockroach because you
have got attachment. "All right. Live here as cockroach." Who can check it?
Cockroach is also life. Dehantara. The proprietor becomes cockroach. Can you
check it? Nature will do. Now we are proprietor, next life a cockroach.
"Live here in your skyscraper building." How much valuable time he has
wasted by constructing this skyscraper building. He remains there in the
photograph, and actually his life is in the commode. Cockroach. He is living
in the commode, and his son's worshiping his photograph.
