unnecessary engagements
The seekers of the Absolute Truth are never allured by unnecessary
engagements in sense gratification, because the serious students seeking the
Absolute Truth are always overwhelmed with the work of researching the truth
…. and that sort of engagement will make everyone happy because they will
be less engaged in varieties of sense gratification.

The friend within
Krsna is within you. He is sitting within your heart as a friend, not as an
enemy. Krsna is always your friend. Suhrdam sarva-bhutanam [Bg. 5.29]. You
are searching out friends to talk with, to joke with, to love. Krsna is
sitting there for that purpose. If you love Krsna, if you make friendship
with Krsna, if you love Krsna, then your life will be successful. You
haven't got to search out any other friend. The friend is already there.
Either you are a boy or a girl, you will find a nice friend within yourself.

Pacifying the lunatic demons and animals
So actually we have taken a very responsible task on behalf of the Supreme
Personality of Godhead. At the present moment, to speak the truth, the whole
population of the world are demons and animals. It may be a very strong
aspersion on the people of the world, but this is the fact. But still,
because they are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, so originally they
were pure and therefore it is the mission of Krishna to get back His parts
and parcels to home, exactly like a father likes to get back his son at home
because this son had gone out of home for false happiness. But the people
are so mad, they are talking so many nonsense things — nonsense philosophy,
nonsense science — and our task is to meet all of them and at the same time
pacify them in their lunatic condition.

Becoming a Business Tycoon to Serve Krishna
Question:
If a devotee runs his business with the attitude that he wants to make millions of pounds to propogate the Hare Krishna movement, Is it Bhakti?
Also, if he prays Krishna to empower him to become the world's leading business tycoon so that he will share a part of his profit to open prasadam resturants/Prabhupada bookstores (shops with Prabhupada's books) etc., would it be OK to pray?
Above all, I would imagine that setting an example (simple leaving and high thinking) as a leading businessman is a good thing. Is it correct?

automatically give up sense gratification
The whole world is chasing after sense gratification, but the man in Krishna
Consciousness will very quickly give it up. You don't have to train yourself
to stop sense gratification. Just chant and hear — you will enjoy this so
much that you will automatically give up what is not conducive to spiritual
life. Chant Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama

to perfect, eternal blissful life.

Krsna conscious recreation
Devotee: What is recreation for a Krsna conscious person?
Prabhupada: Recreation? Dancing. (laughter) Come on, dance with us. Is it
not recreation? And when you get tired take prasadam. Do you want more
recreation than this? … Everyone is welcome. We don't charge anything for
this dancing. You go to ball dance and so many other dances, you pay for it.
But we don't charge. We simply, our, these students simply beg something
because we have to maintain. We don't charge anything. So if you simply come
and chant for recreation, it is very nice. Everything is there in Krsna
consciousness. We want music, there is music. We want dancing, there is
dancing. You can bring nice musical instruments, you can join. We distribute
nice palatable dishes. So practically this is a system of recreation only.

How self-realization becomes extremely easy
Accepting the thoughts of exalted authorities through disciplic succession
is certainly much easier than the method of mental speculation, by which one
tries to invent some means to understand the Absolute Truth. The best
process is to accept the instructions of the previous acaryas and follow
them. Then God realization and self-realization become extremely easy. By
following this easy method, one is liberated from the contamination of the
material modes of nature, and thus one can certainly cross the ocean of
nescience, in which there are many miserable conditions. By following in the
footsteps of the great acaryas, one associates with the hamsas or
paramahamsas, those who are completely freed from material contamination.
Indeed, by following the instructions of the acaryas one is always freed
from all material contamination, and thus one's life becomes successful, for
one reaches the goal of life.
