Do not criticize others’ methods of religion
We should not criticize others’ methods of religion. There are different
types of religious systems operating under different qualities of material
nature. Those operating in the modes of ignorance and passion cannot be as
perfect as that system in the mode of goodness. In Bhagavad-gita everything
has been divided into three qualitative divisions; therefore religious
systems are similarly categorized. When people are mostly under the modes of
passion and ignorance, their system of religion will be of the same quality.
A devotee, instead of criticizing such systems, will encourage the followers
to stick to their principles so that gradually they can come to the platform
of religion in goodness. Simply by criticizing them, a devotee’s mind will
be agitated. Thus a devotee should tolerate and learn to stop agitation.

Duty of parents and gurus
I am very much indebted to my father, and I have dedicated my book, Krsna
book, to him. He wanted me to be preacher of Bhagavata, Srimad-Bhagavatam,
and player of mrdanga and to become servant of Radharani. So every parent
should think like that; otherwise one should not become father and mother.
That is the injunction in the sastra. That is stated in the
Srimad-Bhagavatam, Fifth Canto, pita na sa syaj janani na sa syad gurur na
sa syat sva-jano na sa syat. In this way, the conclusion is, na mocayed yah
samupeta-mrtyum. If one is unable to rescue his disciple from the imminent
danger of death, he should not become a guru. One should not become father
or mother if he cannot do so. In this way, no friend, no relatives, no
father, no…, if one cannot teach his other party how to save from the
clutches of death.
So that education is wanting throughout the whole world.

Taking Sastras Literally and Inferring
Question:
One sannyasi said that "we don't have to take sastras literally." He shows the example that Ravana doesn't have ten heads, "sastra tried to make a point that he was powerful." So, when should we have to take sastra literally and when do not?

We must deliver this pure science
I am pleased to know that all of you are enthusiastically engaged in
distributing our books. In this modern Godless civilization, everyone is
greatly suffering due to lack of the real knowledge of Krishna
consciousness, and our task is very great and very important. We must
deliver this pure science of God to everyone and give them the chance to
make their lives successful. So you continue this book distribution program
very nicely, and at the same time take advantage of these books yourselves.
Not that you just distribute but neglect reading them yourself. Always read
them, especially Krsna book. Every time you have a spare moment, you should
read. This will help you to advance in Krishna consciousness, and will give
you the ability to convince others also.

to feel for the suffering humanity, different angles of vision
This Krsna consciousness movement means to become Vaisnava and feel for the
suffering humanity. So to feel for the suffering humanity, there are
different angles of vision. Somebody is thinking of the suffering of the
humanity from bodily conception of life. Somebody is trying to open hospital
to give relief to the diseased condition. Somebody is trying to distribute
foodstuff in poverty-stricken countries or places. These things are
certainly very nice, but actual suffering of the humanity is due to lack of
Krsna consciousness. These bodily sufferings, they are temporary; neither
they can be checked by the laws of nature. Suppose if you give some
distribution of foodstuff in some poverty-stricken country, that does not
mean that this help makes solution of the whole problem. The real beneficial
work is to invoke every person to Krsna consciousness.
