Srila Prabhupada quotes Shakespeare on mercy

In 1970, in Los Angeles, you [Srila Prabhupada] said, “The quality of mercy
is not strained. It droppeth as a gentle rain from heaven.”
From 1979 Vyasa-puja offering by Bhavananda Goswami
Srila Prabhupada was citing Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.”

No Desire to Serve the Lord in Santa-rati

Question:
In the purport to CC Madhya 8.294, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura is quoted poiting out that the Yamuna, the kadamba trees, cows, Krishna's flute and Krishna's sticks belong to the santa-rasa. Furthermore, in CC Madhya, 19.185 it's said that santa-rati is the neutral stage between the conception of impersonalism and personalism… not much willing to render service to the Lord.
It's difficult to understand how a living entity without the desire to render loving service can be in Goloka Vrndavana. And if I remember cows in Brahma-vimohana-lila, they seemed to have motherly affection toward Krishna (expanded as their calves). How to understand that the river Yamuna and the kalpa-vrksa trees also don't have much desire to serve?

SB 9.24.62

Simply by receiving the glories of the Lord through purified transcendental
ears, the devotees of the Lord are immediately freed from strong material
desires and engagement in fruitive activities.

Srila Prabhupada demonstrates (in)gratitude

You [Srila Prabhupada] taught that gratitude is an essential factor in
personalism. Without it, life is not worth living. You showed this to your
disciple Bhavananda Maharaja as he helped you across the drainage ditch
embankment in Mayapur. After he’d helped you reach the top, you threw his
hand away, then took one step, turned, and explained that this is how the
impersonalists treat the guru: they reject the one who has given them
everything, thinking they have become God and no longer need him.

A definition of intelligence

That is intelligence, to know something of everything and to know everything
of something.

No boredom in Krsna consciousness

It is said that it is the nature of a devotee to constantly apply his mind,
energy, words, ears, etc., in hearing and chanting about Krsna. This is
called Krsna consciousness, and for one who is rapt in hearing and chanting
Krsna, the subject matter never becomes hackneyed or old. That is the
significance of transcendental subject matter in contrast to material
subject matter. Material subject matter becomes stale, and one cannot hear a
certain subject for a long time; he wants change. But as far as
transcendental subject matter is concerned, it is called nitya-navayamana.
This means that one can go on chanting and hearing about the Lord and never
feel tired but will remain fresh and eager to hear more and more.
from Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead

Success or failure does not matter

Success or failure does not matter. On the Absolute world there is no such
relativities as a success and failure. The one thing in the Absolute world
is to serve Krishna. Don’t care for the result. Krishna must know that we
are working very seriously and that is our success of life.
