Its the Great Amazon Shuffle

Note: This was February 17th, on my website, and I typically post here later the same night here. So this is a little old, but the status is still ultimately the same as I have had a crazy work week. Sorry for the delay. Now onto the post.

Hey everyone. I wanted to post this blog to let everyone know about a bunch of new changes coming up concerning distribution of my stuff and where to find it. In the last few years my sales have sunk from not much to zero. Now considering college, internships, and a lot of overtime was in the middle of all that I wasn't too surprised. I have absolutely no time to advertise myself. But a few weeks ago, a fellow workshopping buddy over at Scribophile has published through Kindle Unlimted and is doing well. I didn't know much about Kindle Unlimited when he told me about it. I know that I looked into once a couple years ago, and did not like the exclusivity, but since I was shifted to part time at my work a week ago, I decided to do some research into the ebook market of where the most sales are and how the Kindle Unlimited model works. And I have to say I like what I see at Kindle Unlimited. Especially when it comes to my shorter stuff. When started publishing shorts, I was disappointed that at how retailers would not let me price an item under a dollar. I always had to go with 99 cents, which I feel is too much for a short under 50 pages, but I always want a little bit for my work. So I love this concept that I will get paid for a page model. Also I learned the slow death of the Nook on horizon is a huge reasoning why I make next to nothing now a days. My sales used to be all Nook based. So I feel I have nothing to lose. So I'm giving Kindle Unlimted try. I'm going to start with a select few of shorts; the most polished (recently revised) stuff I have. This include Vanity, The Island, Somewhere Beyond the Sea, and The Damn Road. Those as of right now are Amazon exclusive and are being prepped for Kindle Unlimited. And then I’ll see how things go from there.

Beyond that, I've been building audio stories while revising Alice: Winter's Story and editing The Last Witch story 2: Old Hobbs. I think with these two or possibly one more recorded short, I may have a back log to post a chunk of audio stories monthly again. But one thing about the audio projects is effected by the Kindle Unlimited. I will not be able to share the same chunk of the story simultaneously at Wattpad anymore. I liked doing it because it offered exposure to a new group of readers, but it’s not allowed at Kindle Unlimited. So if that was something you liked, I'm sorry that it's now gone. Overall, that is what I have to share. I'll have more news soon. I hope you all have a great week!

Book Plans For 2019!

It's 2019 everyone! And I hope everyone is finding a good start to a new year in one way or another.   And I wanted to start the year with a new update on what's being done.

First of all, I wanted to state that as of this afternoon, the final edits of The Damn Road are done and so is the cover art. So sometime in the near future, I will be releasing out into the wilds of the internet which is fantastic. I’m so glad to have finally finished the story.

Beyond that, I have been drafting a plan for 2019. My plan right now is to go through the final edits for the following four stories in the Last Witch series and then they will be published throughout the year. To avoid monotony and tedium of working on the Last Witch so long, I plan to hopefully sneak in smaller short stories to workshop and publish them in between the Last Witch shorts.  After that, I have two half edited novels Finding Elodie and The Forsaken Lands, that were abandoned a few years back for the sake of college. I really want to return to finish those. But I will not work on those until the Last Witch is done. If I don't focus on one project entirely, nothing will be done.

And if there is time, I would really like to get the superhero story Death out there. It's been almost finished on my desktop for ages now, and I have been promising it on various blogs for a couple years now, that it would be published. I would love for this to be the year to get it out there.  The same goes with a very dark fantasy horror called Wrong Turn at Albuquerque. But these would be side projects, and not the main focus this year.

As for the audio stories. I am trying to assign a night a week to continue audio stories. I have just recorded The Damn Road the other night and next week I will dive back into recording the some of the audio tales lost in the CPU meltdown, older works, and will continue to use this recording process for editing. And once I have a decent back log of audio stories to share, I will be sharing them once again on my Youtube channel and Wattpad account.

I know that's a lot of stuff and my method of working on my stories is scatterbrained. But this year, I built a physical check list of things that need to be done.  Hopefully that will help me be more organized, because let’s face it. I’m one of the most disorganized people on the planet.!

Anyways, that is all I got for this post. I hope you enjoy this news, and hope to have more new stuff to share soon. Have a great week everyone!

The Last Witch Progress Update, Audio Stories are Being Built Again, & an Adventure Short Series is Being Worked On.

Hey everyone. I just want to send out some updates out there. I've been working hard on building the book cover and polishing the last draft of The Damn Road which right now. I believe it may be published in January, or possibly early February.  That is a guess. Nothing is set in stone as bad luck can strike at any time.

As I edit the last draft, I am reading it out loud in ancient microphone. (My good microphone broke during the move, so I had to order a new one.)  So I am just beginning to dive back into making audio books again. And I'm looking forward to build up a back catalog and start sharing it again.

And lastly I unearthed an unfinished project that got abandoned in college. It was supposed to be an episodic story project like The Last Witch. Only issue is I was so overwhelmed in college, it was abandoned and now that I look at it, I realized I never wrote a beginning or ending story for the collection. It’s about a treasure hunter going on various adventures often times running into supernatural craziness, and as I read through a bit of this project, I think it can be saved. I can't recall my original plan for this project, but this individual stories can be reworked to stand alone fun stories. There is too much to these stories to let them continue to collect dust in a notebook like they have for four years now.

Beyond that, I have been posting book reviews on my blog over on Hubpages in a scattered brain fashion since the mini CPU melt apocalypse. I will post them down below.

Finally Making Progress Again

It has been a long time since there has been any updates since the mini apocalypse where I lost a lot of my data.  Since then, I have moved into a new place, and when time permits, I have been trying to rebuild a lot of what I lost which includes retyping lost shorts out of old notebooks (Thank goodness I kept the original drafts in notebooks), retyping my back log of book reviews (Again thank goodness I physically write things down instead of typing things directly into the computer), and I worked my way through all of the Scribophile work-shopped reviews for The Last Witch short stories. There are now a second drafts of all five parts of the project.

So from here on out, I’m going to start working on polishing each story one by one into a final draft, and working on building the book covers.  To break the tedium I may possibly workshop other short stories and release those. I know that slows things down, but seriously I need change every once and a while. If I don’t have this side thing and I work on one project, my eyes will start to gloss over and I will start making mistakes in editing without realizing it.

I also hope to return to recording the audio stories too. I have some catching up to do. And now that I am close to where I was on other things, I may be able to balance things better soon.

Beyond that, I have been able to spend a night actually writing here and there now that I have a place that is quiet, it is so much easier to think. The last couple years, I lived in a place where it was always loud for one reason or another. So it’s great to start a couple things that I think I will be able to finish because I can concentrate. Also I need this. Editing, audio books, book covers, and even my job is done on a computer. Doing something creative with a pen and notebook is just such a change of pace.

Overall, that is where I am now. Hopefully there will be fun news coming soon. Sorry for not having any stories to share for a very long time. I'm hoping to update you all again soon. And if you're in the U.S. happy Thanksgiving! If you live in outside the U.S. have a great week! And please stay safe in the Black Friday madness. It can get pretty crazy out there.

It Was Only a Mild Apocalypse

Hi everyone. It was been a while since the last update. And the last update consisted of bad news, and when it comes to Project Stories it may be the apocalypse because my CPU did not only die but overheated and melted in my computer and I was not backed up. (I’m still kicking myself for not backing things up.) But it turns out to only be a mild apocalypse. I was able to get some tech guys to recover the majority of my stuff. The only catch is I lost all the work I did in from July to September, which is a real shame because I got so much done with The Last Witch in that time. I went from having 85% done back to 40%. I also lost the tale ending of the audio version of The Island (ending only), Vanity, Warped, and Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Those have to be recorded again. It’s all a very major disappointment, but at the same time I am grateful that I could save so much. My guess, before the mini apocalypse, was I could start releasing The Last Witch short story series monthly as soon as Christmas, but that is off of the table now. I have a bit catching up to do and I have made little progress so far.

Right now I am actually in the middle of moving, so I am going to dive head first back into all of this once I am settled into the new place.  I'll be again blogging soon, and hopefully I have something a little more upbeat to share.

The State of Things Are Not Good

Hi there everyone, I 'm trying my hardest to get into a weekly blogging. But two weeks in a row, my work schedule has been keeping me a little too busy. So I was so excited when it came to this week and I learned it was going to be thirty hour week. So I got started. balancing my work week to work on my projects. I got a bit farther in making audio versions of Warped and Late Shift at Penny's. And as for The Last Witch, I put a lot of work into that and realized I was almost done with edits. I couldn't believe I was really that close to a final product.  I felt so accomplished with what I did that at the end of that last night, I released a tweet announcing that the The Last Witch will be coming out early 2019, if not around Christmas.

Then the unthinkable happened. My computer would not turn on mid-week. I used every trick in the book and called Microsoft. At the end of  it all, I learned that the CPU has died and I had not backed up my work since the beginning of the year. I had to buy a new computer, and the tech guys up at the shop have my from the dead computer trying their best to retrieve my data. And from my understanding, they are having a lot of trouble. Last I heard, its 50/50 chance that I can get my stuff back.

And what stuff is that? That is all of the audio stories. The last two parts of The Island is stuck on that hard drive, as well as the audio version of Somewhere Beyond The Sea and Vanity. The Last Witch is trapped on the hard drive, along with a new horror story Wrong Turn at Albuquerque, and various  new shorts. All of which were in line for editing before any new big project. Also all my book reviews I post on my blogs, are on there as well. So its a bit of a mess, There is only one silver lining to this. The original copies of my work is handwritten in notebooks. And I believe I still have these handwritten copies somewhere but at the end of it all, I lost nearly a year's worth of work, and i am kicking myself for not backing my work up.

Anyways, I did not post in the last couple of weeks. And I did post the  parts 7 and 8 of the Island on Wattpad and Youtube. I will post the links down below.

Parts 7 and 8 of the Island is up on Wattpad at   https://my.w.tt/mtDNyscGnQ

Part 7 of the Audio story can be found @
https://youtu.be/kaLeBAuolOo

Part 8 of the Audio story can be found @
https://youtu.be/IR1sqdhUBCk

Sadly that is all the news I have. It isn't good. I don't know when the audio story project will continue, or what will happen next as everything is in limbo. If you have been enjoying the audio story project, I apologize if there is no ending to The Island a long time. Its just a big mess and everything is still in limbo. I really am hoping everything will end with a happy ending though.  Anyways, I thought I should send out this update, so people  will not wonder why everything suddenly stopped.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a good weekend. New updates will be posted sometime soon, whether its good or bad,

The Continued Weekly Free Stuff and Few Updates

Hey there everyone. The post this week is going to be short. I have nothing to really say about the updates for my current projects. Work has been slow and steady on those, so there isn't anything too exciting to share. But I am still on schedule posting The Island Audio Story and books reviews. So I'll post the stuff below so you can enjoy.

So here is Part 6 of the audio version of The Island, which is posted on Youtube @ https://youtu.be/OKmekEjGlCw

And the same chunk is posted over on Wattpad @ https://www.wattpad.com/626203795-the...

And as always, if you enjoy this, please support by buying the ebook version or making a small  patreon. The links are below.

On Smashwords for $.99 @ https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

Or support me with a donations at my Patreon page at https://www.patreon.com/user?u=10411921

And that is all I have. And I am sorry for not having much. Usually around this time every year I have something such as a short novel or a couple of short stories to publish and share with the world. But because I decided this would be the year that I would start revising my old stuff to  make up for the mistakes I made in the past, progress on new projects moving forward is slow. Still I think the trade off in the end will be worth it. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great labor day weekend in the U.S. and if you don't live in U.S, I hope you're having a fantastic weekend regardless!

The Island (Audio Story) Part 4 Is Now Posted

Hi there. This has been such a busy week. The only book related thing I did was jot down the beginnings to a possible story while waiting on a job interview. But beyond that, I've just been too busy for anything related to my stories. Good thing I decided to record the stories well ahead of time for the audio project. So this is what I got for you below.

So here is Part 4 of the audio version of The Island, which is posted on Youtube @ https://youtu.be/ArcPdwJZvIU

And with all of that said, that is what I got. I'm sorry that there were no further updates. I really hope life will get a little less busy in the future, and I can start having free time again to do more work related to writing because I really do love it. Anyways, I hope you all have a great week!

Part 3 of The Island Audio Story is Now Available

Hey there everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic week and not boiling in this crazy heat wave on the west coast. Yikes! Its hot! But enough of that. This is yet another post about the audio project and updates. There's not a lot to update you on.

I didn't have much time this week, but I did have a couple windows here and there where I could continue my audio projects. I just started reading through the ghost story Late Shift at Pennies and I am about a third through Warped. And wow. Warped is interesting. I know it's one of the first things I ever published right after high school, but now reading through it ten years later, I'm not only finding it as great as I believed it was back then. It it is a bit dull compared to stuff I typically write now. When I started reading it out loud my goal strictly was to fix errors, improve flow, add minor details when needed, and deleting unneeded text.  I did not and still do not want to change the essential story, because it is the product of an entirely different mindset back then than what I would  have written today. If I were to start completely rewriting certain parts of it, I would be rewriting the whole darn thing and it would not be the same story at all. But I'm finding I am cutting a bit more out than I intended. Many are jokes or useless goofy characters that I must have thought was at the time I original wrote it, but I now find very pointless and immature. So I don't know what will become of Warped by the end. This B movie style dinosaur scifi story may end up being a short story by the end of the audio recording re-read, and I may have to re-release it as such.  But again, that is what this who audio project is about. It isn't just about audio books. The audio books is a by product of the revision process. A year after college, I decided to really head back into all my book stuff, and found it was a little bit of a mess, and I am trying to make every thing better and the best they can be.

But right now what's being posted is Part 3 of the audio version of the Island, which is posted on Youtube @ https://youtu.be/eJJUbwJCpQc

And the same chunk is posted over on Wattpad @ https://www.wattpad.com/617148592-the...
