Did You Know...
Have you ever played Scrabble?
The "v" gets a lot of points because it's not as well used. Kind of like the Q and Z.
Velociraptor

Don't believe it.
Violin
I have learned just how much that darned "v" is used!!!
Volcano

My key came off the laptop. The "v" key and it's driving me crazy.
Violet

It's just good I didn't name one of my characters with a "v" name or I'd really be in trouble!!!
*Sigh*
Off to work on some more of jaguar....I just hope that I don't lose any more letters in the meantime...unless it's maybe "q" or "z"!

The SEAL in Wolf's Clothing

The Oregon beach in the story...
One of the most exciting things about having a new book that's coming out--this one in the spring of 2012, is that well, it's done, for one thing, but the COVER is coming!!!
I send the cover information to the marketing department, but I never know what clever ideas they'll come up with. No matter what, I always love them though!!!
So my title looks to have changed from The Wolf and the SEAL to The SEAL in Wolf's Clothing.
And one of these days I'll be happily displaying the award-winning cover!!
Set on the Oregon Coast, Finn Emerson and Meara Greymere have their work...and ahem, pleasure cut out for them as assassins take on the former US Navy SEAL and his team members, making Meara the primary target.
Have a delightful Tuesday! I survived Monday! What about you?

*Sigh* It's Monday....

And I'm sunburned... now, if I'd been lying on a beach all weekend with Duncan MacNeill in the Grand Cayman Islands, ahhh, yes, that would be a perfectly great reason to have a sunburn.
But no, I was trying to get to the weeds and plant more jasmine, and a couple of knockout rose bushes. I hadn't planned to stay out that long. But I kept thinking, I've got to get this done before Sunday's gone. And so I kept working no matter how hot it got.
I should have realized I was getting sunburned. But who gets sunburned in spring? And every time I looked at my arms, they were perfectly white.
Now they're perfectly red.
It's a Monday. But I did get most everything done this weekend, including my word count for Heart of the Jaguar and I worked a little on Dangerous Liaisons, sequel to the vampire romantic suspense, Deadly Liaisons.
Do you feel like this today?

Jaguar Cubs mean...

In my world of wolves, the shifters are related--lots of multiple births because wolves have litters of pups, not just one. Occasionally, maybe, or if the others die, but that's the natural order of things. They're part wolf, part human.
So the question comes up, what about cat shifters? Well, they actually have smaller litters. They have between 1-4 jaguar cubs. Now, what if you have a hunky jaguar shifter and his sister, and she's rather maternal, and she's thinking how much she'd love for the human who's gotten mixed up with them to be Connor's mate, and she's thinking about being an aunt to four jaguar cubs?

But it doesn't mean it will happen. And it doesn't mean that the human will birth jaguar cubs. LOL
Just wanted to clarify here. :)
I'm off to work and it's FRIDAY!!!
Hope you have a wonderfully great TGIF!!!

Courtly Masquerade is up on Smashwords!
by Terry Spear
Don't you love the cover? It's actually a picture I took of woods by a stream in Scotland. It was magical, really. And I thought it would be perfect for COURTLY MASQUERADE. :)
I loved reading fantasy when I was growing up. The world of royalty, the treachery and deceit, magical and mythical creatures. I've written several books that deal with the various worlds of a fantastical nature. In this one, it's strictly a magical world. In some of the others, I enjoyed adding the creatures that caught my imagination--centaurs, ogres, griffins, dwarves, Amazons, and a couple of my own mythical creations.
Today, most of my work is more of a urban fantasy nature--the fantastical living in our contemporary every day society. But I still love to fall into a purely historical fantastical world too. What about you?

Arabella, Duchess of Foxmoor Castle, is given a mission by her cousin, Princess Lynet--make the prince she's betrothed to give up any notion of wedding her. But Arabella faces danger at every turn when she discovers her magical talents mean others believe her to be "The One" who will fulfill the prophecy to take down the most evil wizard of all time.
Arabella shouldn't have used her magic.
She shouldn't have given into her spoiled cousin.
She shouldn't have escaped Lord Conlan.
Or stolen from the Dark One.
But she did.
Have a super Thursday!!! The weekend is almost here!

Okay, so I wasn't exactly thinking jaguar this morning......

Okay, so I wasn't exactly thinking jaguar this morning...although I'm working on the story....jaguars do not use hair dryers, and they don't get all fuzzy.
But did you know they absolutely love the water?
Here's a jaguar shifter before.

Here's one after.
Off to training this morning, but wish I was here...well, at the beach with the shifter...although they say mud baths are good for the skin. Wonder how they'd be for the fur???
Would you like to join this shifter???

My Daughter Got it!
My daughter received one of the internships at the VA in Houston! That means she'll have a job and earn a masters at the same time. I knew she'd get it as much as she's worked in the nutrition field as a volunteer and as good as her grades are at Baylor, but it's official! She's got it!
The only bad part is she'll be leaving in August. So we have to do some fun things before that happens, after she finishes her bachelor's in May. She's too busy with tests otherwise.
And my future son-in-law helped me to figure out Photo Shop and some brushes that I installed, so that's been fun--that's for reworking some book covers I've made or bought and can spruce up a bit.
From this....
To this....

And I've made a dent in my word count for this week on Heart of the Jaguar! Nearly 13,000 words! I need another 7,000 for this weekend.
But, I didn't get to my flowerbeds. It's a sad story really. I tried. I was going to soak them with water so I could more easily pull up the weeds and you know what happened? My hose had a million holes in it!!!
Then I was trying to come back inside and found hornets building a nest right over the door and so I went to get bug spray, of course the wind was blowing in the door and so it's all coming back on me, but then I look at the can and it's mosquito fogger. Huh? Where's the hornet spray?
So I find that and spray the nest and the hornets and ... that was the end of my great day of weeding! LOL
But I did write and that was important too!
Ever have one of those days???

Ghostly Liaisons!
I LOVED ghost stories when I was growing up. Devoured every one of them that I could get my hands on. And when I lived in Florida, this was my home--right here--in this story--the swamps, the canal, the Banana River...even attending Merritt Island High School. We lived near the restaurant where the Flapper era ghost resides, only I didn't know about it when we lived there.
No ghosts that I know of, truly roaming the swamps. No murders committed. But the place, the heat, the humidity, the mosquitoes, the drunken bus driver (literally), who looked like he was on a prison release work program, the bullies---yes, they were real. :)
I didn't include the REAL ones in the story. But...they were real.
I often explored the swamps, because my parents wanted us outside--it wasn't healthy for kids to be inside all the time. Right. Little did they know where I went when I was forced outside.
Not through the woods to grandmother's house. No wolves. Through the jungle-like swamp...the snakes, the alligators, the quicksand...oh, my... :)
So come and join me if you dare... :)

Coming soon to Amazon and B&N!
Kitta Sjoni is a troubled teen, but not in the usual sense. Plagued by visions of 10th Century Viking marauders is only a tip of the problems she faces. Killing a curse and taming the beast within—that's her goal, but can she survive the test?
Bjornolf Jorgenson, beleaguered by marauder nightmares, is drawn to Kitta, the clone of the girl from his visions. She's the only one who doesn't shy away from his uncontrollable rages, but she draws trouble like a sponge soaks up unmanageable spills. What is his real connection to the spunky teen and can he help her, like she wants to help him before it's too late?
When I lived in Oklahoma, we lived just a few minutes from a place where Vikings had carved runestones in rocks. Norsemen graffiti? Leif Ericson was here?
In any event, I was always fascinated with the idea and so THE BEAST WITHIN was born--a love that could never die between two teens of Norwegian descent, a curse that transcends all time, a berserker rage that cannot be quelled.
:)
Have a super Saturday!!!
