Birthday art
I awoke this morning to find my email box overflowing with well wishes, and a couple of lovely pieces of birthday artwork, which I just have to share.

Day of Remembrance
Tomorrow, aside from being my birthday, is a designated day of remembrance for gay teens who have killed themselves because of bullying. I will personally be expanding that to include all the young people, gay or straight, who have been driven to kill themselves. You can show your support by wearing purple.

Rainy Day and Tea
It's raining in Redlands! Yes, that is an event here. A real, hard, cold rain, not the usual six drops on a brick. Looks like autumn is really here. Drinking Sensational Teas.com's Yunnan from a handmade cup my friend Becky gave me.

Odds and Ends
1. Thanks to all who have made Glimpses such a success! It continues to sell well through CreateSpace, Amazon.com, and some bookstores.
2. Foreign market problems persist. It all boils down to the book being late getting listed to book buyer's channels for bookstores to buy. Book Depository is directing people to AbeBooks, which ships to Europe. Hopefully the foreign Amazons will have it soon. *sigh*
3. The contributors copies have all shipped. Look for them soon!
4. Glimpses book plates are still available. The IRC coupons work! Thanks for all your thoughtful notes and gifts.
5. Signed copies of Glimpses and White Road are available through Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore.

Can't find a song
GE has an ecoimagination commercial featuring electric car terminals. A cute, bouncy song introduces it, that starts, I think "I was young and I was cute and I had just turned seventeen." Can't find the title anywhere. Anyone recognize it? It's driving me crazy.

Today's Buddhist Thought
Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience. It isn't more complicated that that. It is opening to or recieving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is, without either clinging to it or rejecting it. —Sylvia Boorstein
