A Change of Light
I have a love hate relationship with Daylight Savings Time. I hate the shortening of the days. It was almost dark at 5 last night. But I love waking up an hour early and watching the sky brighten outside. I meditated with a single candle, made coffee, had breakfast, caught up on my mail, and it's not even 7 yet. It's raining gently outside. A good day to write.

Buddhist Thought For the Day
Renunciation is not getting rid of the things of this world, but accepting that they pass away.

Sherlock Ep 2
I realize I am behind the game with most of you, since our Masterpiece Mystery airs on Thursday instead of Sunday, so please, no spoilers for future episodes.
I am LOVING this new Sherlock Holmes series. The blending of old and new is just delightful. Holmes is very nearly in Victorian dress, compared to Watson's hip black leather jacket.
In last night's episode I adored Sherlock's willful obtuseness about Watson's need to get out on a date, and his sabotaging of same, although it all worked out for the best—sort of. I hope the girlfriend hangs on a bit. I didn't catch her name. Anyone? I'll be interested to see how they play Holme's sexuality as things go on.
I also love the new Watson. He's not a duplicate Holmes, but he has a lot more on the ball than the old movie Watsons. More true to the books.

Couldn't Resist

Rose Tyler
Take Which Doctor Who companion are you? (girls) today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.</p>You're Rose Tyler!
You are spunky, determined, and as religiously devoted to your Doctor as you are to chips. (He's the only one who doesn't know how sweet you are on him, too.) You never stay put when you're told to stay put, but just when everyone expects you to get roasted by the monster of the week, you turn right around and figure out the mystery. You're sharp as a tack, but also sensitive, knowing when the Doctor needs someone to back him up or when he just needs a hand to hold. He seems to think he can get rid of you... you're quick to show him he's wrong!

Movie Option Expires
Bad news, folks. Despite the best of efforts, C-Squared was unable to find backing for a Nightrunner project. I am, of course, disappointed, but this is a common outcome for these things. That doesn't mean there may not be another try in the future, but for now, Alec and Seregil remain on the page.
