Lonesome Brothers Concert is September 3
The Lonesome Brothers will perform public concerts near Brattleboro, in Northampton, and in other towns around the Valley. They have played at the Valley's best live music venue, the Iron Horse Music Hall.
On September 3, they will perform a public concert in Guilford, Vermont, near Brattleboro.

Workers Win, Land Saved
Workers at a factory is Greenfield won a new union contract, and environmental activists permanently protected 323 acres of land in the Valley from development. “We are very pleased with the contract we ended up with,” Jay McGrath told the Valley Post in a July 18 interview. He is one of 74 workers at the Kennametal factory on Sanderson Street in Greenfield. McGrath started working at the Greenfield factory 17 years ago. The workers have a union, which has a web site at www.UEunion.org.

The Lonesome Brothers will perform public concerts near Brattleboro, in Northampton, and in other towns around the Valley. They have played at the Valley's best live music venue, the Iron Horse Music Hall.
On July 12 at 6 p.m., they will perform a free, outdoor concert on the town common in Newfane, Vermont, near Brattleboro. In case of rain, the concert will be next door, indoors.

Eight people who were arrested for non-violent civil disobedience to stop construction of a fracked gas pipeline in the Valley will be in court July 18 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. They are asking the public to come to court to support them. “The trial starts at 9 a.m.,” Ellen Graves of West Springfield, Massachusetts told the Valley Post in a telephone interview. CJ Chenier Concert is July 8
CJ Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band will perform in Northampton on July 8 at 7 p.m. CJ Chenier was born in 1957. According to his web site, he “spent his childhood in the tough tenement housing projects of Port Arthur, Texas.” Chenier played with Ringo Starr on Paul Simon's album Rhythm of the Saints. March to Stop Sexual Harassment
On July 8 in Northampton, there will be a march and rally against sexual harassment. President Trump has boasted of sexually assaulting women. Earlier this year, Trump defended a male Fox News employee who sexually harassed five women so severely that Fox paid the women $13 million to get them to agree to not take Fox to court.

CJ Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band will perform in Northampton on July 8 at 7 p.m. CJ Chenier was born in 1957. Eight Arrested, Land Saved
In the Valley, eight people were arrested for non-violent civil disobedience and 184 acres of land were permanently protected from development. On June 24, eight people were arrested while protesting the construction of a fracked gas pipeline in Sandisfield, Massachusetts. Sandisfield is in the Connecticut river valley, about an hour by car west of Springfield.
