Two Rallies
In Greenfield on May 25, there was a rally for workers' rights. In Springfield the next day, there was a rally for environmental protection. 688 Acres Saved
Activists saved 688 acres of forestland in Keene and the New Hampshire towns of Chesterfield and Swanzey. Chesterfield borders Brattleboro and Keene. Swanzey borders Keene and is about five miles from Massachusetts. Photos: Climate Activists Arrested
Activists from the Valley traveled by bus and carpool to Albany, New York on May 14. People were arrested for non-violent civil disobedience. They were calling on politicians to stop climate change. The protesters sat on train tracks to block trains carrying oil. The action's organizers have a web site at www.albany2016.org.
